I don't mind the three being leads. AH is one note and continues to drag her stories. MO is generic and doesn't have the chops to hold her own with the likes of EB and ED. Never has, and I doubt she ever will. HK is a decent actress, but they need to make the character stronger if they want her to lead. I think she has the qualities, but the writing hasn't been there. Maybe Pratt can make Summer likable, time will tell. If yesterday was an indication, he's not trying.

I have no problem with the age difference myself no matter who it is. I just don't want them to rush into something where it damages what's been a surprisingly excellent start for Gina, IMO. I think she can work well with Hartley but they have to handle her look well. When she started she had a prison dyke haircut. And what hurts GT sometimes is when they try to pretend she is still 25 - they did on OLTL last time. She's young and vital but she's not all things to all people, no actor is.

Nothing about this response is covering me in glory, so I will end it here. I love Gina Tognoni, I just don't want them to try to pretend she is Hunter King.

Anyone else think now the Colin is not allowed to be part of CI with Jill n Cane he will turn on them and begin to work with Victor to get the land redeveloped. He might even help Victor with his plot to take over Jabot. if that's were the story of Victor out to destroy Jack is headed as I expect

I don't think the story is over. Victor is up to something, he wouldn't hand CI over so easily. That and the fact Jess & Eric were exchanging tweets a couple of weeks ago about how they were enjoying working together, and alluded to the hours they were going to be putting in together in the upcoming weeks. That was Jan 9th so it hasn't aired yet.

I could see Colin & Victor as friends. No one could play a better friend than Tristan Rogers. It'd be a refreshing change of the status quo where everyone is Victor's enemy. I'd like to see Victor have a friend again, (like The Colonel), it would bring out a side of him that's been missing for years. I'd hate to see Colin turn on Jill & his own son though. However if Colin did become Victor's ally he may be able soften Victor's wrath and work out a deal where Jill/Cane come out OK in return for his help elsewhere.

No. Jill will break her deal causing Devon to try to get the company back before colin tanks it. Colin will cost Jill to lose CI and Devon to lose loads of money. At the end if the day, neither will have anything. And, I suppose for many, all will be right with the world.

The stuff with Phyllis in Fairview is painfully bad and cartoonish. Just really horrid.

There is NO reason for Summer to freak out that way. None at all. Shut your whore mouth, Summer. They made sure that Jack and Avery worded the whole announcement in the stupidest way possible in order for her to misunderstand it and blow up, because what other "drama" do they have going for them?

Wow, Dylan the Amazing Hero suggested his girlfriend slept with her ex to get a deal. How chivalrous of him

Don't tell me that this whole Austin thing happened so that they can have one more suspect if Joe ends up dead.

Can someone explain to me why Victor and Jack are able to walk in and out of a mental hospital, with Phyllis' door unlocked? What stops Phyllis from running off? wacko.png Oh, and that final shot of Victor in the elevator, grinning like that while the doors closed, was SO unnecessary.

The courtroom scenes were a complete joke. Ridiculous. And not just because of the pacing -- shoving weeks' worth of story in one episode -- but also because of the blatant sexism permeating everything on the show, including this storyline. It's unbearable. As if it wasn't obvious from the very beginning that Nick would win. I'll be stunned if that's not the case.

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
    • It feels like the show suddenly woke up today and remembered it was Sweeps month. Lots of action and forward momentum, including a delicious Nina/Carly fight.
