Y&R: February 2014 Discussion Thread

I've actually watched the show immediately upon getting home from work every day for a week... that hasn't happened in years. I watched LIVE on Monday, and that like never never happens.

DT looks and even sounds like Miller. Incredible seeing him again. I definitely still bought him as grieving father, and his chemistry with Victoria was decent (to the extent it can be with her suckitude). I wonder if they could both get 2014 Emmy nominations for the same role.

DEAD at Esther going on on Adam's eyes and skinny lips... that was such a cheap shot at Muhney, but I loved it.

Nice use of the scenes with Victor and young Adam. I really loved EB and PB today. You almost got the sense that Jack wanted to say "Thank God" when he heard Billy was alive, but didn't because he also loved Adam. There was this great little moment where Victor patted him on the back to comfort him and Jack had this great WTF expression... that was very classic Y&R. I used to live for little moments like that. And MCE was incredible going through the rollercoaster of Adam being probably dead, then maybe not, then definitely yeah. I think they've done a suitable job killing him for now but making a recast possible for much later.

Yes. If I remember he told Michael that someone in jail tried to kill him so he was being put in Witness protection

The jail was to fake his death but he escaped and went to lauren's women of the year where Fen did shoot him but didnt kill him, FBI or whatever faked his death.

Michael got Carmine on camera saying he's alive and showing the date via a newspaper so Fen was set free

David Tom did a great job stepping back into the role of Billy Abbott. Didn't miss a beat. Y&R was smart to ask him back.

With someone saying "it's (near) impossible for Adam to have survived every five minutes, he better really be dead. I don't think he needs to come back.

I'm loving the fallout from the Delia story. The rest of the stories on Y&R? Not so much.

There were so many good things about this episode, but I want to give a shout out to one of Y&R's un-sung heroes--Kate Linder. She is FLAWLESS. She is a vet, but doesn't get the same credit and respect as others. The few times they've featured her in this Delia story she has been flawless. Her scenes with Kate have always been great and are the few times when Chloe really works as a character. They need to focus on developing that relationship even more. I'd rather see Esther than Anita for example. She is such a thoughtful character with such heart and she works well in contrast to characters like Jill and Chloe. The way the Chancellor scenes were set up I didn't even mind Cane or Lily.

Now onto David Tom, he is PERFECTION! He is such a soulful, nuanced actor. Y&R back in the day was a different animal. The reason people harp on about him (at least pre-Billy Miller) and Ashley Bashioum is because they were DIFFERENT. What they brought to those roles was special and unique for a young character and thats why people were so drawn to them. What I saw today was exactly why I fell in love with Billy (and Mac) back in the day. I'm glad he came back and didn't miss a beat because I know many were wanting him to fail.

He definitely sounds like Miller. I was doing some work on my computer while watching at had to look up at the tv just to make sure because he was sounding just like him sometimes. They want to make sure that this is the same character. I commend the producers for that.

I was rolling my eyes especially when Chloe was talking. I don't even like Adam, but their constant bashing someone who they think is dead almost made me wish he wasn't AND that he didn't really kill Delia.

Its true, Adam didn't knowingly mow Delia down and keep going. I hate they're writing it like that's what happened but I just don't see Adam as some poor little victim. Regardless of what we saw which was indeed an accident, he had plenty times to tell what happened that night. Billy should not have had to force it out of him. Victor's blackmail shouldn't have been what forced Adam to plan to turn himself in either. That's not to say everybody would've believed him but it would've shown he's a changed man. He chose the same old cover my tracks route. Nevertheless, there's a couple of people who are still team Adam or atleast feel bad for him like Jack, Anita, Dylan, Avery, etc. so it ain't like the whole town despises him. If anything it shows some of those people would've helped him.

ETA-MD said he came back for one day so looks like it was just to wrap the tedious Baldwins story up. That disappoints me cause I need a young sexy bastard around.

I don't understand why anybody would expect them to believe Adam didn't know he hit Delia. He's destroyed all evidence so they have no way of corroborating his story. For all they know he hit her head on, stopped and looked at her and kept going. Of course with his history even had he turned himself in immediately we don't know if they'd believe him. I don't feel bad for Adam one bit based on the horrible things he did to so many people in this town. I wouldn't trust him or believe a word out of his mouth. It was one heinous crime after another.
