And yes, before anyone says otherwise, high profile people leak information about themselves, rather than making official statements, all the time. It is commonplace PR strategy, especially in a contentious matter such as this.

As Eileen Davidson said, the cat is well and truly out of the bag and about 20 miles down the street by now. CBS likely gave EB the go ahead for this interview anyway.

We need to stop laying into anybody who decides to comment on the situation. Everybody knows what happened by now, there is no point in pretending otherwise, and no amount of shading EB's grumpy demeanor is going to obscure the fact that MM felt up an 18-year old girl at work and got fired for it. It is all fait accompli, and as such, EB has as much right to comment on it as anybody. It's not like MM is suing Sony for unlawfully firing him. This is a done deal.

As everywhere, there are men in Hollywood who feel entitled to sexual harass women so I expect MM will get some work here and there, much like he did before Y&R. But societal attitudes about sexual harassment have become so negative that Sony can no longer ignore actresses' complaints and pass him another soap like they did with RKK. Corporations and networks are going to be wary about the negative PR and potential lawsuits before hiring MM so he needs his fans to back off and let this die down so he can reinvent himself for a third act.
