So that's the new, official story, eh? Phyllis didn't run them down with her car. No, Christine and Paul accidentally backed into the car with their bodies.

SMDH.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if Christine ever showed up in GC again. They really threw her under the car bus.

And if I were Christine, too, I'd regret ever forgiving that bastard Michael and building a friendship with him after the [!@#$%^&*] he pulled on me once upon a time.

As I said, Christine has no real reason ever to go back to that town. Just have her tell Nina, "If you need me, you know where to find me," then say adios for good.

It's sickening the way Phyllis got off scot-free, SCREAMED in Christine's face about getting off scot-free, and then a line of losers went to smack Christine with "Phyllis is love, you iz EVUL" [!@#$%^&*]. I can't even with Heather, Weasel-face or Michael (who was once my favourite character). Even Paul had to do the whole "Let it go, Christine." The propping of this repugnant character is so unnecessary anyway because even Phyllis haters like myself enjoy watching Phyllis when she is the flawed, evil anti-heroine -- which only works if she pays for her crimes now and then.

If LLB leaves now, we'll know how all this panned out behind the scenes. Too bad. I thought JFP would have told some of the rampant egos on that set to cool it.

OMG, I *loved* Chris Engen. It's too bad he got his cred as an actor completely trashed. It should have been a contract issue but MAB made it into something so much worse.

I will give MM his props, though. In the scenes where Nick tried to attack him at the hospital, he was understated -- in a good way.

On Fresh Prince of Bel Air, James Avery had so much presence and humor as Philip Banks. That's saying something on a show with Carlton, Jeffrey, Hillary and, of course, Will. Seriously -- he should be on some show playing a wealthy patriarch with a sharp tongue and weakness for the ladies. He would nail a role like that and it would be so fun to watch.

LOL, can you imagine if they squeezed in a scene between him and Tatiana Ali on Y&R? She played his daughter on FP.

I had hoped a good night's rest would help me deal better with this latest, most insane round of Phyllis propping. Alas, it didn't. Y&R's revisionist tactic, whitewashing Phyllis' past misdeed and painting Christine (who I never liked, btw) as a raging bitch for wanting justice, has to be one of the most foul and reprehensible things I have seen on a soap opera, and certainly on Y&R. I don't even care who was responsible for this mess. All I know or care about is that it conjures up for me memories of "Coopers are GOOD, Spauldings are BAD!" b.s. on GUIDING LIGHT; and for me, that's scary, because that was the point when I went from, "There's still hope for this show!," to "I'll strike a match and burn down the set my damn self!".

    • Agreeing with your agreeing, and I bet that any urge toward violence against Sarah is what will cause Xander to try to redeem himself. Even though, as you mentioned the other, I have enjoyed the buildup.  It seems like everyone easily forgave Philip for stealing from Xander.  And their defense was that Victor wanted his two sons to work together.  Until, finally, Xander exploded and realized that Victor wanted what he wrote in his will, days before his death.  If Philip had led an actual legal battle for the estate, then Xander might have capitulated.  But, Philip made him look like a fool.  Because Philip was too smug to simply ask Xander for he thought he deserved.  noted for the contrarians, that is not a defense for violence  -- I assume we are all of sound mind, and know right from wrong.
    • I imagine Philip will refuse to identify Xander because he knows he orchestrated this mess and tanked his brother's marriage. Eventually I hope to see Philip and Xander reconciling their awful crimes against each other and restoring that brother bond.  And Xander needs therapy. He was twisted into what he is by Victor's cruelty and has zero anger management skills. Having said that I think this was more a gross writing choice than anything else. One punch would have sufficed for sure but they wanted to show us Sarah was "right". Never mind that she created this situation by helping Xander love his brother so the betrayal was far worse. If he'd heard the truth immediately he would have had Philip arrested and fired him. But Sarah wanted Philip to be her mole to control her husband at work. Who never needed it as he's run Titan just fine on his own before.
    • Oh that's right. Thanks. Thanks @dc11786 I guess Conroy did last for a bit. Never knew why AW didn't see his potential either.
    • May 19, 2025 Fairman interviews Lynn Herring about the Nurses Ball. Excellent interview and no GH spoilers. CAUTION There is a minor DAYS spoiler from 12:15 to 14:15, so if you are Days spoiler-free, then skip those two minutes. Thus intentionally posting the link instead of embedding the youtube.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYXKsKa1xTE
    • Well life is full of surprises. And it's not the first time over the last few years the 'murder mystery' target has moved off a GH character. So...we'll see.

    • I'm not a Philip fan, but Xander is a kidnapping, murderous thug! I loathe Xander. I don't know why Sarah stays with him. The Stephanie manuscript sex book ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... Yawn...this is the best they can write for Stephanie?
    • I agree. I like grey characters. But today veered to dark  Of course not. That's ludicrous
    • They shouldn't be on the show anymore. The whole Dimera clan should've been written out long time ago. Xander once again turning to violence. He should be in jail. Is he going to beat up Sarah when Xander finds out Sarah lied to him?
    • A recent discussion in the Loving/City forum inspired me to re-read the history of Devon Shepherd.  According to contemporary sources to the plot, Devon never actually kissed Dr. Lynn Carson, PhD. I'd be eager to know if anyone recalls it differently.  My visual memory of Lyn was that she was always dressed in lady-professional drag of the 1980s.   And, that Donna Peskow never toned down her New York accent. Meanwhile, has there ever been a more boring offspring than Devon? On paper, she had it all.  Teen pregnancy, alcoholism, brief foray into bisexuality, adultery, Devon was always down to clown.  But, she was an eternal meekly mouse, with those tiny braids and that namby-pamby vocal tone.  Mr. Shepard must have been a huge nerd, because Devon inherited none of her mother's charm or elegance.  And, don't get me started on her terrible choices for romantic partners.  One can hardly blame Ellen for forgetting about Devon and pretending Julie was her daughter.

Side note: Devon fell for Cliff Warner after her performed the Heimlich Maneuver on Bonnie and saved her from choking in 1984.  I don't know why this caused me to go on a side quest, but, the Heimlich Maneuver is a relatively recent innovation.  Up until 1986 the government still trained food workers to slap a person on the back in order to dislodge food.  Heimlich's treatment was superior, and in an effort to make it policy, ABC and the other networks agreed to air pro-Heimlich content starting in 1984, according to TV Guide.  So, Cliff was responsible for training mothers at home how to stop their kids from choking.
