Yes, Maria was set to cast Mel.

Hope Steadman as the new Jill Abbott. I can't. I just can't.

Who-ever the hater is they are commenting quite few times below that DC article......

"Who is concerned about Jess Walton's status? No one was talking about her on forums, or tweeting about her. She's a below average actress by Y&R standards who has added nothing to the show since the last century."

???? It's very odd, JW/Jill has tiny amounts of screen time and is a threat to no one. They are talking about a part time return but someone sure seems like they really doesn't want her back on the show for some reason.

Whoever that person is, they admit to not being a fan of Jess Walton. And that's fine, there's no accounting for people's taste, admittedly, after they wrote that Jess is a sub-par actress by Y&R's standards I couldn't take anything they said seriously. She's the most decorated member of the cast. 2 Emmys...whoever they are, they're a definite friend of MAB because they tried to throw shade on the article by claiming that it was a bash at MAB...who absolutely deserves to be bashed.

Y&RWorldTurner is probably right about Jess's contract negotiation in 2008 being the root of MAB's hate, even though she kept it very quiet. I wonder if MAB wanted her out in 2008 and Sony insisted she stay?

AMC and OLTL were just as white.

Y&R needs diversity back and she'd be doing us all a favor if she fired CK.

I was surprised the interrview was so candid.

The Santos clan, the Fryes, Hubbards, Noah's family (even An Li and Henry were an attempt) is not the same as GH or OLTL for that matter. Could AMC have done better, yes. But they were better than OLTL and GH.

God forgive me, the first person who came to mind ...

Dear God. She even looks crazed.

As for GL turning into Texas 2.0... It was a crime! Marland's sophisticated Springfield was gone and the Lewis destroyed everything within a few years.

YES YES YES. As much as I enjoyed some aspects of Pam Long's first GL era (and let's be real for a second, without her, there'dve been no Alex Spaulding), the Lewises were the most obnoxious bunch of wankers to stink up the screen during that hour. Every time those yahoos would come on screen I'd cringe. It didn't help that it was usually after a rather sweet moment with the Reardons at Company, or some intense scene at the Spaulding house. Suddenly a rootin' tootin' ho-down is on my screen. Ain't nobody got time for that!

As for CK, ABSOLUTELY agreed, Kudos to JFP for getting rid of that valley girl. Barf.

If indeed she has. I have a horrible feeling we're still going to be stuck with her.

Jess Walton posted this on her Facebook page, I'm sure the "can't" was a typo. ;)

I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic, but "we'll see if we can't work something out" is the phrase.

Also on her Facebook page, Jess said that if they can come to an agreement, she'd aim for a return in October.

Even if she doesn't return I'm just happy that JFP had the class and courtesy to phone her and see what Jess was thinking. FINALLY a producer on this show gave Jess some respect, has to be the first time in a decade!

I second that!
