November 5, 2025Nov 5 Member I recently picked up my 1981 run. Needed a Break cause of work and Life. october 1981 is completely finished by me: After the ice Princess Story the writers seemed Not to know what to do with LnL and Robert and Tiffany. They reeeeeeaaaaaaallx streeeeetched out the damn wedding stuff that it became tiresome Heather‘s Story wasn’t progressing much either but at least we got a few Heather vs Anne scenes. There should’ve been more of that during the entire time man. And Anne was a bit backburned this month so I didn’t mind her scenes. I’m known as one of the biggest Anne Hater around lol I still don’t know what Jeff actually saw in her. Must’ve been cause she a Virgin. Otherwise I can’t explain that. Bobbie/Noah bored the hell out of me! But now to the Great things: The Quartermaines and especially Lila got more screentime again! Gosh I love that Old Lady Lila so much. That she even put edward in her Place was hilarious. The Twist with Alexandria giving Lila more Control at the Company was amazing. Lila was involved with so many different people in this month and I enjoyed it. Monica/Alan‘s Divorce Battle is heating up again! Finally! But the writers seemed to have given up on Susan/Alan already. Their mood seemed to Switch from happy to Moody and bored. Susan is trying Everything but alan seemed not really into it anymore. Can’t wait to see where This is going! ALL Q scenes keep me entertained and we got Robert/Luke - bromance Moments! They feel so Natural. One of my Favorite Moments was Scotty‘s signed Divorce papers arrived and Lee lost it and burned them! I Wonder why they Never gave Lee more Material Like That.
November 10, 2025Nov 10 Member If Genie Francis would’ve been on GH between 1988-1990 would she have been involved in the Jerome MOB story and been up against Olivia Jerome?

If Luke was there too, I would say yes. But it is very hard for me to imagine that because it was really built to be an Anna/Duke story. But I also think they would be in that mix because they would be lumped in with the adventure characters. Luke does not fit well with cops though. I could easily see Luke and Duke running the club together and being wrapped up in Jerome business though. It’s what happened when they came back and Frank Smith paired him with Sonny. November 16, 2025Nov 16 Member Sonny Corinthos and whether or not he should be written out of the show gets talked about a lot on here. Some people would have him out in two seconds flat. Others, like me, would build to a huge iconic exit worthy of how important the character has been to the show, rightly or wrongly, for decades, while others think outside of their own personal wants in what they feel is a more realistic approach and would keep him around in a more limited capacity. With all that said, my question is this: If Sonny had exited permanently in the past, at what point narratively do you think would have been most appropriate? Would it have been satisfying if his exit was just when he left in 1997 and never returned? If he left with Brenda the last time she returned? Or was there a particular story where you felt his exit would have been the perfect denouement to his character? Interested to see the responses

The Brenda at the altar exit was the most iconic. The set up with Jason running things played out very well with Carly telling Tony Michael was Jason’s and fleeing to the penthouse. She had the protection and he was both stepping into a dangerous role while now having a family to take care of. Then Robin returned. It was an interesting time, and even back when I liked Sonny, I was fine with his exit. We won’t dwell on Brenda’s model shoot breakdown. We have discussed it before, but after the Claudia fiasco, and Michael going to jail, Carly and Jason started actually saying they made a mistake. They still loved Sonny but the Quartermaines may have been controlling and privileged, but not the violence Michael had endured in the Corinthos world. It was just up to the line of the show addressing that Sonny was becoming what they all thought he was supposed to be protecting them from. He had just gotten past shooting Dante. That would have been a moment too. Truthfully, after his conversation with Brenda about choosing power every time, even over his family and his love, I decided Sonny shouldn’t ride off into the sunset with Brenda or Carly. Or even Jason. He should go out alone.

That great scene in 2011, as Guza was also on the way out the door, cemented for me that Sonny could either go out alone or dead, or with Brenda having finally made the other choice. Pairing him with anyone else ever again after that confrontation was a moot point. And it has been ever since. Edited November 17, 2025Nov 17 by Vee

That was also one of the last times I thought Sonny had an adult conversation with a romantic partner and was also treating them with respect and as an equal. It was well earned for Brenda considering their history and how he treated her. I never saw him treat Carly as an equal in that way, because he was always wary of her impulsive destruction and too deeply ensconced in his own mental illness issues. I know people think they are well suited, and they kind of are, but for all the wrong reasons for both of them.
