I forgot about that (like I try to forget about that soap). Plus, didn't they do Dubai and Monte Carlo, too? Or am I thinking of the same place for those of those visits?
My problem with the B&B location shoots is that they seem in-tangent with show-related events... not for the sake of the story and character progression. Had

I didn't see this on here - just found it on Youtube. It's the last scenes of a character named Darren Blythe, who was tied with the Bobbie/Scotty/Laura group (I didn't read up a lot on that period beyond the basics so you all probably know more about him than I do). The date is June 5th, 1978.

William Schriener, who played him, uploaded the scenes - I asked a brief question about whether he got the scenes as a goodbye gift...I didn't want to ask about a full episode as some people get angry when you try to talk to them.

All I can say is Bobbie was such a huge bitch and she didn't even try to hide it. You have to laugh.

So Darren was around a while then? Did they mention him much after he left?

I agree he was cute. I think GH in those years managed to cast good looking men who could still seem approachable (although you don't see a lot of 1978-era Kin Shriners in real life, admittedly).

Well, Darren was around for a little while, but never as a major player. After he left, I don't remember anyone mentioning him at all. So many men back at that time were approachable babes, although Jeff and Scotty were tops for me. It annoys me to no end that Hammy Howarth is working on his third freaking character, while Kin Shriner is only rarely seen as a glorified under-fiver. Scotty Baldwin is the show's longest-serving character. He deserves a place on the canvas.

You got it. Laura was such a brat! And an idiot too, for dismissing a hunk like Darren for an icky troll like David Hamilton.

Thank you for tagging me Carl. Another awesome find. Never heard of this character.

Laura always seemed to go for much, much older dudes. Even Scotty was a grown man when Laura married him. Smirky Howarth is just an abomination. Darren was cute. I find it weird seeing Bobbie in bad girl mode. She was a nice lady by the time i started watching. Darren got a nice send off. Most characters in present day GH don't.

    • I do not think I have ever agreed with Vee. Normally I do not read him, Ignore ya know. For some unknown reason I clicked to read. And I agree 1000%. Now, this is so odd that I need to go away for a bit.
    • Justine had a lot of hooey in it, but she was an actual woman, not a guy in drag. She was a doppelganger of Rachel, French, having had a past history with Carl, etc. Two of the more outrageous parts-Justine bricking alive Vicky into a wall & Justine grinding the gears driving a big rig.
    • Hehe, twi/x actually x, formerly Twitter. Typically I find 2 sources for "crazy fan rumors" - the wrong parts of FB and x. Oy.
    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • My bad….ill fix that  Fixed
    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.
