ATL

I caught up on 2 weeks of ATL last night. This franchise is back.

Turns out it needed fake ass Kenya to have real ass life problems to roar back to relevancy. If I were Nene I'd be very, very concerned. She has hardly been in the show and I haven't missed her at all. She's brought nothing to the episodes she's been in so far.

I enjoy watching Cynthia because she isn't a psychopath. She's a nice lady who laughs easily and is stunningly beautiful. I like seeing someone like her getting her life together.

I've really enjoyed Marlo. Like, I've never enjoyed her like this. Showing her family is compelling and makes me look at her with a more rounded view.

Kandi's surrogate storyline is interesting because she is actually doing it...unlike Melissa Gorga on NJ who hasn't had a real storyline in years.

Porscha is the star of this season though. My heart goes out to her because she's in real pain and she's doing her best to make a life for herself and baby PJ.

ATL feels way more real than it has in years and the false notes (Eva, Nene) stick out because they don't have anything real, be it good or bad, going on.

DALLAS

@Taoboi you're a better man than me - that employment situation sounds infuriating and horrible.

I felt for Leanne and I see why she exploded. I also don't think she's a racist. I just don't. I think Kary got under her skin and aggressively antagonized her. It will be interesting to see how this week's episode goes.

OC

I like Kelly sometimes and I don't like that Shannon was so stupid to get snowed by Tamra. Again. Tamra is the worst element of this show and it will never move forward so long as she's around.

After many many years of trying, Erica has probably hit her peak of cultural relevance - inspiring a line in my imaginary husband (well one of them, anyway) John Mulaney's upcoming Netflix special.

Yep, if I were Nene, I would be worried right about know. She is costing Bravo over $1 million per episode, and refuses to film with all but a 1 or 2 people who won't contradict her. Contrast that with Cynthia's BBQ and a roomful of 12 women -- HWs and FOHs -- who were shading each other while also laughing and commiserating together. Probably the best bit was everybody owning up to some of their truest insecurities -- something I could never see the current incarnation of Nene doing on camera.

In our current economic landscape, one 'asset' I have noticed among a few unscrupulous multi-millionaires is not so much their ability to sniff out a good deal (clearly not in Mo's case --that property was built on a precipice!), but rather their ability to 'mitigate costs.' And by that I mean work the system so that somebody else covers the loss. That is where 'filing for bankruptcy' comes in. He could pay $5mn for this, but doesn't want to.

Spare a thought for poor Gigi and Bella this Christmas, tho!

I agree with everything you said. I’ve never liked Kenya but she’s absolutely breathed new life into the franchise by coming back.

Nene really could’ve sat this season out. She is not missed and adds nothing at all.

I still don’t get the point of Eva who just screams phony to me.

Porsha is gonna DRAG Eva at the reunion. She just came to Kenya's defense

@DaytimeFan IA with you on  most of RHOA. Nene and Eva's stories feel so nonexistent and inauthentic. What is it exactly? Thats right, causing unnecessary drama with the ladies but they arent actually showing us anything of their lives. Eva would be more relatable if she let herself be vulnerable and be honest about her money issues but she keeps fronting and running away whenever its presented

I will disagree on Marlo. She is nothing but a miserable nasty woman that I dont like. She could go and I wouldnt miss her as she like Nene, is a dark cloud of misery

The OC:  What a [!@#$%^&*] storm this Key West trip is. I gotta say, other than Vicki's wipeout at the end requiring her usual medical attention, I'd rather hang with the tres amigas than the suckfest of Kelly/Braunwyn/Emily.  Even Gina is more tolerable with the "old ladies."  I *loved* Bravo's cheeky editing showcasing the old women whooping it up having fun while the younger women were tired, staying in their rooms looking pooped.

Ugh at Kelly's continued outbursts and inability to control herself. Total gutter trash. It's no wonder she's good friends with Brandi.

Side note: We were in Key West three years ago and went to that gay bar. LOL. It was such a fun hot mess, but the drag queens were pretty terrible. LOL. One of them shown last night on OC is one I saw in person. She resembles Drag Race's Thorgy Thor but ten times worse. But gosh it was fun. I hope to see more of Duval Street next week.

I don’t know why Bravo was kidding themselves thinking they could do OC and have it be entertaining without Vicki’s antics. They should’ve just given her her Orange this season after they edited most of the damn show to be about her.

No one is watching the show to see what Emily and Gina are up to. And Braunwyn is was too thirsty.

Tamara got out completely unscathed by the takedown attempt. She’s a damn pro.

IA with everything said about Vickie and Im convinced Bravo will give her back her orange. She said she will not do this show part time again so I think it will be all or nothing with her. It must be a money thing bc she is just as present. She gets her talking heads, her family has appeared, we've seen her love life, she goes on the trips and events and is right in the middle of the drama. How is she just a friend?

    •   1. 11/1/83 cast/set list:

Please register in order to view this content

The "11/2/83" video you posted of Ruth Buzzi's scenes includes Roman and Hope in them, meaning the video you posted is actually 11/1/83, since Roman and Hope aren't in 11/2/83.   2. The video you posted of "11/2/83" has scenes with Roman and Hope. As you can see from my cast/set list, Roman and Hope are not in the 11/2/83 episode (see above note):   4573...11/2/83: Cast: Mickey, Julie, Doug, Maggie, Neil, Don, Marie, Alex, Liz, Andre as Tony, Gwen, Chris, Eugene, Sandy, Letitia, Charlene, Mrs. Whiting, Wanda/Guard, Dave, Delia, Saleslady # 1, Saleslady # 2, Figure in Dark, Raven/animal, Cats/animals, Birds/animals.   2.  11/3/83 :My video collection starts with 11/4/83. so I don't have the 11/1/83 or 11/3/83 video, but in addition to the cast/set list for 11/3/83, here is also the parking clearance call sheet for that day, showing Ruth was not only in the cast/set list but did work that day:     They even had hired the animal trainer and all the animals for the day, so It's sort of a certainty that her scenes were not cut that day, or it would have been a big waste of the budget. 3. As for 11/7/83, I just fast-forwarded through that whole episode myself. Letitia is in it from start to finish. It's her big final episode where she is killed. She starts the episode saying "Eugene, are you there?" In the next act, Marlena shows up and meets Letitia's lion. Later in the episode, Letitia is killed by "Eugene" (the Salem Slasher in a Eugene mask).   So, as we can see from your own post, the 11/2/83 date you have listed on that video is incorrect, since Hope and Roman are in that video but not in the 11/2/83 episode. It seems the dates you have on all your early November 1983 episodes are incorrect.   When you post videos and suggest that my data is incorrect, do you not first compare who is in the scenes and see if that matches who is in the episode? You didn't do that with the "11/2/83" episode, which based on Roman and Hope being in it means that is actually 11/1/83. Best to do something like that first before suggesting my data and research is incorrect.
    • Within the Dupree family, I predict Vernon/Anita will be conflicted about what to do about Bill and his role in the whole Ted/Silk Press Sheila situation... especially since Bill knows where the particular bone about Martin is buried. Dani, Chelsea, and Naomi's reactions to what Bill possibly did isn't hard to guess.. but Hayley's reactions will be interesting to hear.  Especially given her recent pregnancy scare.. she might not be so much on Bill's side, or she'll totally surprise us and be totally on Bill's side.   Either way, I think Martin's secret will be the main focus in May sweeps.. with the fall out of the Eva secret playing out in the background... while the Joey/Vanessa/Doug thing continues to boil/develop.
    • Hotel was The Love Boat on land but a little soapier. I will forever maintain that Hotel was a time slot hit. I don't believe that 1983/84 Hotel was a better show than Knots Landing.

    • The timing is strange, though. How far in advance would they normally be on location? The Achille Lauro hijacking was on October 7, 1985. Nancy had arrived in Egypt in the storyline by October 18. But the character of Hawk, Chris' Native American friend from Arizona, had already appeared onscreen by September and brought a letter telling Chris to be in Egypt by October 25th.  Why did they already have the link to Arizona before the reason to cancel the shoot in Egypt?  The dust and the jar it came in were from Egypt though. Nancy bought it there and sent it to Mac as a gift before she came back to the states and followed Chris to Arizona.
    • Actually that is not what happened. Nor is the timing right for it to have been. We learned from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay  in 2006, which can be found on YT, that it was Fred Silverman's idea to do the 90 minute show. I don't know how much you know about him but he had these amazing successes as head of daytime at both ABC & at CBS. Then he came to NBC where basically everything he touched turned NOT TO GOLD but to shite. Some of the most expensive shows ever produced up to that time were huge flops. Although even he, like a broken clock, could be right on occasion. However, as we know, he was not right about the 90 minute show. As a matter of fact, afterward,  NBC programmers, who worked FOR him, were asked why they did it & they were quoted as saying it was because they couldn't think of anything else to try. It was a stupid idea from a man who had reached the point where he was throwing anything at the wall to see if it would stick.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.
