“Don’t fight for your king and don’t fight for his kingdoms. Don’t fight for honor. Don’t fight for glory. Don’t fight for riches, because you won’t get any. This is your city Stannis means to sack. That’s your gate he’s ramming. If he gets in, it will be your houses he burns, your gold he steals, your women he will rape. Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let’s go kill them.” --Tyrion Lannister

One of my favorite Tyrion scenes. He's such an awesome character.

Tyrion is the best as is Peter Dinklage. I love how Peter Dinklage does that speech. There is this amazing moment after he says, "those are brave men knocking at our door." He pauses and gives this painful grimace and then says, "let's go kill them!" I was literally standing up and cheering. I hope that Peter is nominated in the Best Actor category this time and that he deservedly wins another Emmy.

Okay, I'll think cautiously go through the thread. smile.png

She's so beautiful and can probably get any guy she wants, yet she resorts to incest. What a crazy time back then.

Well exactly, it's based on classic royal families--think of the Egyptians to take it back to the most incestuous. However I don't think ugly people are more likely to resort to incest out of desperation or something :P

LOL!! I remember being shocked and grossed out about "pure blood" after hearing about it for the first time in "Gladiator".

But Cersei does not sleep with Jaime or Lancel out of dynastic necessity. She does so because she has some weird pathology. She and Jaime kept their sexual relationship a secret because they knew that it was unacceptable. She was unfaithful to Robert and produced sons for her brother. If Robert had found out, he would have put all of them to death and the kingdom would have cheered. I am putting the rest of my comments in spoilers because they relate to the book.

The Targaryens engaged in incest as well as polygyny, but they were royalty and from a rare bloodline. This more like the incestuous marriages reported among the Egyptian, Peruvian, Japanese, and Hawaiian royal houses.

Historically, while incest is taboo in most societies, there have been periods where incest was practiced by ordinary people as well. Incest with full-siblings is rare, but marriages of half-siblings and first cousins have occurred far more often than most people think. We just know the famous ones.

Wow. Nathalie Emmanuel was often considered one of the worst actresses on Hollyoaks. I know this show tends to focus more on the women having their clothes taken off, but I'm still surprised.

LOL! Nathalie Emmanuel was pretty horrific on Hollyoaks. Let's see how she does on Game of Thrones.

Jojen Reed is played by the kid from Love Actually. He has grown up.

All this casting news has made me very excited for the upcoming season. Although there are even more characters now.

I only watched the first YT video with the introductions. Very cool.

Season 3 premiered March 31, 2013. Can't wait.

I've gone through both seasons this summer and was pretty much impressed as any other fan is. Not so much though that I'd go buy the books, but still, the show is damn good.

The books are much better, imo. The show is great, but it's really just a shadow of the books due to time and budget constraints.

Cannot wait for season three!
