ALL: Who was your "first" soap couple?

Watching live, the first couple I ever got into was probably either Nicholas/Kate or Brandon/Sami. I had watched Days for years earlier but never for couples until those two. I wouldn't call myself a shipper by any means though.

Through many clips and research I'd say Jack and Jennifer (Matt and Missy Part 1) are my favorite couple ever.

GL's Quint and Nola, followed by Greg and Jenny on AMC. Both love stories were written so brilliantly. I loved them both.

Victor and Nikki on Y&R, then Ridge and Caroline on B&B. Those two pairings I think were Bill Bell's supercouples, even though he wasn't big on that particular trend.

The first soap couple I had an investment in was Brian and Hayley on AMC. Damn that An Li.

Hrm I guess Dimitri and Erica, Brian and Hayley and Brooke and Edmund spring to mind (all AMC, 'natch). But to be honest I never was, and never have been too invested in supercouples--I like the stories and like the characters but I've never ever watched for a couple, maybe that's one reason I can't find myself using those horrible joined names (if they had done that in the 70s would we be stuck with names like Phara?)

I'm not a fan of joined names either. I occasionally use them out of laziness but the only couple nickname I kinda like is Scrubs.

I admit I got so sick of Zack and Kendall that I have been guilty of using Zendall. Most of the time though I read a couple name and can't figure out who it means :(

Most people use conjoined names cause it saves on typing LOL

No couple drew me into soaps, but the first couple I was cognizant as being a couple were GH's Scotty and Heather. I loved watching them.

I was always more into characters than couples.

The first times both sides of a couple really clicked for me and I never felt the same about them when they were apart:

Billy/Vanessa, GL

Barbara/Hal, ATWT

I watched days my entire life, but the first couple whom i clearly remember really liking was Bo and Billie, and then Sami and Austin.

It was Bo and Billie's LA undercover story that made me fall for them. They were amazing.
