I was watching the reunion upload with Carolyn Ann  Clark and Kristen Vigard and although I thought the two were entertaining, I burst out laughing and thought of this conversation when I heard him say this.

Sad to say, his interviewing skills have not improved. While I appreciate his ability to get terrific guests, his moderating leaves much to be desired. One of his better GL centered shows was with Krista Tesreau and Mark Lewis.

He has recently joined a vintage soap opera board on Facebook. Now that he is a member, I wonder if folks there will refrain from giving their honest opinions of his "interviewing" style, just out of courtesy. I don't want his feelings slaughtered, of course, but it will be unfortunate if other members can no longer say what they truly think, and must stifle themselves.

One thing that I have learned from having to critique people's work, in the past, even in person, face to face, during writing workshops, is that you should lead with a positive comment first. I would say "I appreciate the fact that you started these virtual reunions during a time when there is so much anxiety and people are looking for comfort". Then I would say "I like that you're using clips of scenes from these soaps that the guests can comment on", then I would suggest that he'd probably be great at focusing on producing the show and working with a host, he could likely do even more.

Exactly. When you host any kind of show, I think your guests and your viewers deserve more scintillating moderating than "wow...wow...wow...that's crazy". But more than that, he doesn't do his homework and often gets facts wrong. If he would work at it more and listen to constructive feedback, his show would be so much better. I don't want his feelings hurt, either. Constructive criticism is different than just bashing someone.

I mentioned really liking his show with Krista Tesreau and Mark Lewis. Oddly enough, I think Mark Lewis directed a play I saw at Wheaton College many years ago. I read he's been there since 1995, and my church youth group traveled from Cleveland to Chicago and saw that play in 1997. I'll have to write him and check. I have long since forgotten the name of that play.

Yeah it is. For some reason the files do not come up with the covers. Here is a screenshot with results. This is just from filtering 1953. You can then filter further to just reduce it to TV Guide only

Thank you for posting this. Can anyone out there clarify for me if Lynne Adams *wanted* to leave TGL, or if the Dobsons decided to simply write out Leslie (as they had earlier with Joe Werner) to free Mike up for new romantic entanglements.

I still wish Mike and Leslie would have had a son or daughter. I suppose that might have been too weird at that time in the 1970's to have a child who would have had the same mother and two different fathers...who were also brothers! Or, had that already happened on another soap and I just can't recall it...?

Also, for curiosity's sake - I recall that Don Stewart had better chemistry with Barbara Rodell versus Lynne Adams. Can anyone clarify that, as well?

    • On that same note, it's astounding to have mobster Sonny in the same office with Mayor Laura chatting it up about their mutual grandson. Think about the reaction if John Gotti and Mayor Eric Adams had a friendship

?? I guess the Logic behind Sonny & Jason acceptance is like when i saw a documentary where FBI agents said they'd rather deal with the mafia than terrorists or cartels---they're the "lesser of 3 evils". Anyway I'm about 30 years late on this convo.
    • Im confused. Does Jessica know anything about June's relation to Tyrell? At the start of the episode, it seemed like June was gonna slip that he was her son but she caught herself but later in the episode she referred to him as "my boy" and Jessica had no reaction like that wasnt a surprise to her No, Anita was putting money in the account every 6 months but we werent told how much was in it when Leslie became a beneficiary. The show has set it up that it was multiplying based off the interest so that its really worth quite alot now. I dont buy it but thats what they've told us
    • What was the point in Lori's return as Mrs. Max Hollister? That little story never made much sense to me.  Were there plans for a permanent return? Or even a new family with her as the matriarch?
    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.
