was looking up details about Hidden Passions on Amazaon and stubbled across this...

I get that they're referencing the TV Guide cover, but I still feel like they did Juliet Mills dirty there.

This was so well done, was thinking of this earlier today.

One of the few Emmys Passions won was for this song. Very well deserved. Such a wonderfully produced segment. Mrs. Wallace was such a funny character 🤣

I clicked on this because I was unnerved by her staring directly at the camera, but this was not one of those wall-breaking moments.

There is a surprising location shoot in an actual department store here. I am trying to remember how many times we've seen that on soaps (of course there's GH and Wyndham's).

Fancy and Noah seem like a promising couple. I do wonder why they split them up. They did keep Noah around as a B-character instead of just writing him out - maybe JER saw Fancy as more of an A-lister as he soured on Sheridan.

Yeah between Sheridan and Theresa, I can’t decide which character he liked to write for the most. Which is why it surprised me how he wrote for Sheridans character near the end and how he just completely gave up on ‘Shuis’. I will say, Sheridan was more interesting as a b*tch but I feel bad for the Shuis fans who were hoping for the same kind of happy ending Ethan & Theresa got.

Kay was a character I would say was written for the most too.

I never knew Passions had a sponsorship deal with Friskies. The product placement at the start of this is a hoot. I could see Passions having a lot of fun with product placement, even if JER never seemed to be as deliberately campy as Sunset Beach got.

Just finished reading the book, honestly this book told me a lot about James E. Reilly. @Toups would likely find this a good read. Alot of good details about Passions including how Reilly almost called it quits and Marlene McPherson and Darrel Ray Thomas almost took over, how no one realized Ben Masters had dementia until he suddenly disappeared and everyone was asking where he is. Tracey Ross loved herself some Ben Masters, the way she talks about him makes his passing hurt even more. The lack of respect the soap industry showed the show, even evident by the soap blogs not even covering this books release says a lot. Honestly, as a Passions fan i have a new found respect for the show even more reading how they pulled this off. I think the book is a good read not just for fans of the show but soap fans in general. NBC gave Jim hella power after that Days stint, overall its a good read.
