I despise them. They hijack peaceful protests for their own infantile emotional needs and they give cover to the "both sides" narrative. Once people start getting violent it's easy for innocents to get hurt and they don't care. Don't get me wrong. I like seeing Nazis get beat down as much as the next person but antifa hurt more than they help.

It's that old expression, "They mean well, but...".

I don't want to repeat marceline (again), so I'll just say this: I have a tough time dealing with ANY group that encourages its members to disguise themselves, regardless of which side of the proverbial fence they're on.  To me, it's creepy af...and, if I must be honest, it's cowardly, too.  Say what you will about the Black Panther Party, but from what I recall, those guys hardly ever cloaked their faces so that you couldn't tell who was who.

So, I have to admit that I've paid little to no attention to these Antifa folks.  I guess my reason being that they have mostly come off as a small, but vocal cluster of unhinged nutjobs.

Am I wrong to be paying so little attention?

I guess when I see them occupying the halls of government, shaping our laws or public policy like the Klan or the white supremacists, I'd likely pay more attention.

The problem (for me) is that they hinder the cause they claim to want to help. The right wing is just salivating in the hopes that antifa kills someone and when that happens who do you think the cops will crack down on? The white guys who rip off their black masks and disappear into the crowd or the black and brown people out peacefully protesting. This is another case of far lefties fetishizing "revolution" even if it means hurting innocent people.

You're right, that is a concern and a big one.

The one saving grace so far is that many of those Antifa twits seem to be too cowardly to venture into spaces where there are very large numbers of black and brown people. Like, you're not going to see any in Harlem, NY or Newark, New Jersey.

What would a crisis in America be without greedy corporations trying to capitalize from the misery of others? This time- price gouging.

Antifa wouldn't last five minutes in those places before community members kicked them out of their neighborhoods. "We're tryin' to honor Dr. King by staging a peaceful protest," they might say, "and then they bring THEIR triflin' asses in here, tearin' up [!@#$%^&*]. We ain't got time for that mess!"

I share some of the same concerns about Antifa that others posters have but the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Conservatives are going to crack down on blacks when the next mass major police killing or mass killing of whites is done by a black person. They blamed BLM for the police killings in Dallas and Louisiana and BLM for the most part don't wear masks.

You remind me of a comment I saw on another site from someone complaining about taking down Confederate monuments. He said that "the Left" is going to wish they stayed quiet when conservatives start tearing down statues of Malcolm X and demanding the street names be changed. I told him that given the neighborhoods where you find "Malcolm X Boulevard" I would cherish watching the attempt. Just let me get some popcorn first.

    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
    • He a dirty dog! Those are his kids and he hurt everyone. At this point he needed to just come clean. I can't believe I was lusting over this man! I hope they aren't quick to forgive.
    • The way I took it is that he did not want to confirm or deny anything until he talked to Nicole first. He was very calculated with the wording he used with Martin and Kat
    • I still see Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton when Martin gets angry.
    • Not that I want to defend Y&R's writers, but it's not as absurd as you'd think and I believe they plucked it from reality (and then bungled it). The Estee Lauder Companies purchased Tom Ford's brand several years ago and I am willing to bet that's how Jabot came to buy Marchetti.
    • Loved the episode today. looking forward to the fallout. Nubian-Sheila looked fantastic, but I wish the writers would cut back on her overuse of figurative language. I loved the "fix yo mind ministries" line though. The background music during her fantasy confrontation with Nicole was epic.
    • Nothing makes sense on this show. I wish there was a garbage can emoji. That sums up 90% of the show right now.

Jane Wyman return episode was head-to-head w/ Cheers season 8 finale. Falcon Crest broadcast syndication began Fall 1986, which overlapped w/ Oprah going national. AFAIK cable broadcasts were Lifetime and Soapnet. I have no memory of cable broadcasts on TBS, TNT, TNN, E!, FX.
    • After today’s rushed and abrupt exit for Summer I immediately realized that Josh & Co. were very blindsided by AL’s decision to leave.  Not the first time this has happened to JG either; see MM & HK’s exits in 2021, MM’s exit in 2022, and of course TSJ’s exit last year. Obviously JG and our executive in charge of nothing Steve Kent don’t have a good handle on casting disruptions. And Mariah having an offscreen affair is [!@#$%^&*] ridiculous!! Meanwhile Tessa’s blonde hair is overkill with the number of blondes on the show already. I said the same thing 3 years ago…of course it was utterly ridiculous everyone was mad at Sally for getting Summer he dream job (don’t ask lol) but there was so much the show could have done without bringing on the Marchetti angle.
