And this is why I never could go along with the idea that it was a good thing that this stuff passed the House because it would not go anywhere and would just hurt Republicans.

Constant slow-moving train-wrecks but I just keep reading about them.

They're on Obamacare, they voted for Trump, and they're already disappointed

If Congress follows Trump's lead, many of them will be out on their asses in '18, because look at those (dis) approval ratings.

I don't know if anyone has read this article, or if it has been posted but it articulates what many know.

Donald Trump’s presidency is an American crisis

The most saddening part in that first article is how many say they expect it. This is how Republicans win, along with the cheating and the manipulating and having media control - people either take what they get from them, or they blame the failures on Democrats.

I wish I could believe the Democrats up high have any ability to harness or to make up a minimum amount of ground in the midterms.

I'm sharing that 2nd article on FB :-)

The first article is just frustrating.  These people readily admit they aren't happy with Trump or his "health care plan for everyone" and yet, they're still going to vote Republican?!?!

I don't get it.  It does cause some concern for the mid-terms.

The Dems need to start harping on this AHCA failure and the Kansas economy (as others mentioned up thread).  Over and over and over, to every media outlet and new person.  They need to make these things their primary talking points so hopefully someone wakes up and realizes that the republican party is not now, and has never been, a party for anyone but rich white guys.  Correction - rich white heterosexual guys.  It may not cause result in substantial gains for the dems, but it could flip a few...

This is why I'm done trying to save these folks. They deserve what they get. I'll fight to protect the innocent but anyone who voted for Trump deserves every bit of pain they get.

I saw someone saying that while Comey and Russia are the headlines, the House is going to be voting on a bill that would gut more of Obama's protections on financial matters. More and more I feel like the GOP must be pleased on some level that Russia really is acting as a smokescreen for everything these days.

After some thought I think I've figured out why the Senate is choosing to vote on the House version of the AHCA. It's so the moderates can vote against it and they can get some cover in time for the August recess. Just like when Collins and Murkowski were allowed to make show votes against DeVos. It simply doesn't make sense that after weeks of "The Senate will craft it's own bill" and  Burr saying just a week ago that he didn't foresee a deal on health care that they would turn around and vote to pass the toxic AHCA.

There's only two groups of people who say things like the Republicans and the far left. Both groups want Russia to go away. I'm tired of people acting like we can't multitask. For all these votes in the House, how many of them have made it through the Senate? The House makes show votes to appease their base and look like they're getting something accomplished. Just like that fake EO signing ceremony Snatchgrabber had. They've been reduced to pantomime and Russia is a big part of the reason why.

I enjoyed their individual scenes with other characters before they all came together at the Pub to commiserate over their relationships with Sami. I thought that was broken down pretty well. I just wish it had gone on a little longer. And I actually found it kinda funny too lol it seemed more mature than what we're used to. That's the kind of humor that should be on a soap. But I'm not really sure about all this talk of Dante Vitali and Sami's engagement though, especially since it doesn't look like Ali Sweeney is coming back anytime soon. What's the point of it all if we're (probably) not going to see it? It also looked like today was the first round of Brady vs. Xander as well lol I enjoyed their fight, and I'm interested in seeing this storyline play out. Even though I'm sure that Sarah will ultimately go back to Xander in the end, I'd like to see what happens along the way, and how they and everyone around them are affected by this. Btw, Theo and Jada? Idk. I still think he had the most chemistry with Arianna. And he was a bit of a dick too. It also seemed a little out of character for Jada for her to be so OK with him being such a dick  And though Alex and Stephanie were very boring again and need much better conflict than this book stuff, I am interested in the mystery of who's targeting Alex.  And yeah, I know this is a nitpick, but why is the Square still open after the gala? Isn't it supposed to be really late at night?
    • In fairness, Hillary and Bob Woods were thick as thieves again at least by the end of OLTL. But both she and I believe Mark Derwin not so subtly dissed Kale Browne in the oral history, lol.

    • Frat Boy Jr.'s reaction to seeing Luna was just awful acting. It was so bad that I started laughing.

Does anyone have screenshots of it?
    • Geez, I hadn't heard that Doctors story. HBS really did go through it.
    • No offense to the actors involved, but dear God in heaven: I don't know HOW viewers managed to get through that storyline with Maggie, Frank, Cal and baby Jill without running into oncoming traffic.  Then, to make matters worse, they dragged poor Diana into the mess!  I don't care WHO gets that damn baby!  Just wrap it up and move ON already!
    • Poor HBS.  To have to put up with Stephen Burleigh, who stuck his knee between her legs while rehearsing a love scene on THE DOCTORS, then told the director that's what he did with his wife; Kincaid, who had more hair on his chest and upper lip than Koko the Gorilla; Kale Browne, who taped his lines all over the OLTL studio floor, because he couldn't ever be bothered to [!@#$%^&*] memorize them; and Robert S. Woods, who apparently thought it was still 1979 and that he was still smolderingly sexy, so why should Bo Buchanan be stuck being in a happy marriage with Nora?  After all that, no wonder she jumped at the chance to play a lesbian on VENICE, lol.
    • @Maxim Thank you for the mini-review and clip from several pages ago. I appreciate you using the Bo/Alex clip as them meeting again by this point was a real surprise to me. The scene has some layers, getting a glimpse of Alex genuinely wanting the best for Bo rather than gloating. I was disappointed it ended with Tina dragging her out of the room for some much less interesting sparring (I did enjoy Alex pointing out just how quickly Tina got over Cord).
