I find it hard to feel bad for CNN because they were the leaders on the pump up Trump routine so while I realize they were one of the most vocal and pissed about getting played today(making the entire event a Trump infomercial), their coverage of him has been a Trump infomercial for months. I hope this means the press continues to pound on him as well. WaPo has been doing a good job in recent weeks but that Newsweek story has been largely ignored for who knows why. That is the most scathing

I follow it on the net but now that's it. the 24hr. networks are now just TMZ. the polls mean nothing IMPO. 8-10,000 voters may be polled but when over 100 million vote that is NOT a representation of what voters are thinking. they have sold the entire country down the river...and they want to keep it close for ratings. that's it. the TVMSM entertainment industrial complex get their marching orders and do same.

When Trump gets overconfident - or feels like he's been humiliated, as he did by being convinced (allegedly by Conway) to go onstage and reluctantly 'renounce' birtherism - he goes rogue. It happened post-primary with the Khans and his hellish month of August and it's happening again now with his ludicrous hotel farce where he spent 4 seconds on his 'admission' and then barred the press.

Spoonfeed them plenty but insult them and they buck. The media is turning on him. Front page of the NY Times this morning calls Trump a liar.

The Times has fucked up a lot on Trump lately and has felt major pressure for it, from people like Paul Krugman and others. Their editorial staff, including Maggie Haberman, have grown increasingly testy. This is a big change from their apologia for their prior weak headlines on Trump.

I don't know Vee sometimes I think too little too late for the media. They have been complicit for not months but years in helping stoke this birtherism story. I forced myself to stay away from all media yesterday but I watched Trump's "apology" and it made me cry. I am a single white female, late 30's, I can't claim to relate or understand how it is to be an African American, but the fact that this man stood up there in a matter of 20 seconds said it was over and HE settled it made me ill. Does this country still feel the big old white male sheriff is needed to validate anything. And it was a hit at HRC also not just because he lied about the fact she started it, but that HRC the woman couldn't finish something. So 2 nods to his racist sexist base. And then that idiot Chris Matthews gives him credit for apologizing? Seriously that was no apology and if anything the hate and divisiveness this movement caused deserves an apology to the American people. This view of America, once the "Shining light on the hill" is terrible. And still the cowards in the GOP who helped fester this ideology say NOTHING.

I don't know whether anyone read and/or posted this one previously but kind of an interesting interview with Mark Cuban on the reasons why he changed his mind on Trump and endorsed Clinton. It is kind of weird that his initial reason for thinking of Trump was as a buffer against Ted Cruz but I guess that's when he believed that there was a single GOP candidate that was even near Presidential material. Still don't get it, but oh well.<_<

I was feeling somewhat confident in the weeks following the convention. But not anymore. His numbers just keep rising. I can't comprehend the ridiculousness that comes from Trump and his surrogates... whether it's something hypocritical like, "I cannot support someone who lies for a living," a false claim like "She doesn't have plans," or something completely unacceptable (so - basically anything that Trump says about anyone)... there just aren't any words.

I liked this part, especially what I put in bold: There were two things that finally led me to endorse Secretary Clinton: The first was that I did quite a bit of homework to understand all the allegations that were directed toward her and found almost all not based on fact and the remainder far from material. The tipping issues were Trump’s positions on NATO, our treaties, dealing with our allies, his comments on nuclear weapons, and his lack of understanding of the concept of deterrence. His ignorance of these issues scared the [!@#$%^&*] out of me.

Josh Marshall analyzes Trump's latest meltdown, which, yes, is having a major effect. The press is hammering him for yesterday, the polling for the last week is coming in Hillary and Trump was repeatedly humiliated this week - and this latest collapse started with a pastor and an interview with a reporter afterwards.

Much more at the link.

I know I am being very pessimistic but while true, that's from a liberal site.

Though the NYT did post another negative article about him which is out of the norm and in response, Trump tweets that his lawyers want to sue the NY Times. But he apparently is holding back for now.

I think it's suspicious that records from the Ivana/Donald divorce have been abruptly concealed just after the papers showed he verbally abused and demeaned her. That it was unsafe for them to remain married and that Ivana called his treatment of her cruel and inhuman.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back! At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place. We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo. Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier. Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future. I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest. But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
