Having a pic of Wilmott-Brown in the Beale family photo album must rank right up there as one of the most stupid things EE has ever done, alongside Michelle’s son Mark speaking with a Surrey accent despite having lived his entire life in Florida.

It's at 11 minutes. One of the dumbest things ever on this show, which is saying a lot.

I also hated, hated, hated the stuff with Michelle and her stalker. I ranted about that elsewhere, but essentially the message of this is comedy material that tells us who gives a damn what a violent stalker will do to other women as long as you leave Michelle alone.

I agree, Carl, it was AWFUL. And it wasn’t even brought up that the reason Tom was most likely obsessed with Michelle was because she physically resembled his wife very closely. If she had died and he was still in grief over that, OK. It’s understandable that he thought he’d found a replacement in Michelle. But then it turned out they were divorced and she was living with their kids in another city! So, so bad.

I've never known an era of EastEnders where so many things don't make any logical sense. As mentioned that Willmott-Brown photo, how did that scene even manage to get into an episode? I was so confused

And Billy and Tina was so ridiculous, even the actors looked like they struggled with that scene and knew it was a complete farce. Michelle wouldn't have dinner with Tom alone, Sharon wouldn't agree to let Michelle do that in her house, and Kathy wouldn't have stayed in the café for half an hour talking to her rapist. Ugh.

When it comes to Whitney, why bother still trying with her? Whitney has not been endearing since her original story when she was being groomed by Bianca's perverted husband at the time. She, Woody, and the Carters can all pack up and go at this point.

This Wilmott-Brown story isn't as good as it could be either. I hate that poor Max is tied to this crap story, and it'll lead to his demise within the next year.

I am praying that John Yorke has fixed this show b/c EE is dreadful. I find myself FF through 90% of the show.

OK, so why is Michelle, who went to university and spent the better part of the past twenty years in academia, still using the word “ain’t”? It’s ridiculous. Don’t give me any of that “she’s just trying to fit in” garbage.

I was hoping that Kathy would elaborate on “the coast” by saying she’d be staying for a bit with her sister Stephanie in, where was it, Devon or Cornwall? She hasn’t mentioned her since 1985 so I’m a tad shaky on which seaside hamlet it was.

As for Donna Ludlow it’s quite possible Ben already knows about her. And it was silly of Ben to ask if Michelle and Sharon knew about JWB when there was a court case and I think Michelle was there for all of it.

I went to college and have a degree in English. I use the word "ain't" all the time too. I know many people that are college educated that use the word when they are comfortable and around people that aren't their professional peers. It's just local color, and I find it to be one of the few honest things about the character. People in the South use it all the time and wasn't Michelle in Florida all this time? She most likely picked it up. Glad the writers are instilling that in her, honestly.

    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with Eric,a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he smashed into a mirror, dying of glass wounds. So there was a supernatural element. I wonder if the Brody character in the credits was Eric Brody?
