There was a lot of negative talk against Al Corley and PSM for leaving a hot property (and I realize with PSM it was also due to some in the industry likely not caring for her attitude/behavior/what have you, not just her leaving Dynasty), but I tend to think they made the right decision. The show had no idea what to do with Steven or with Fallon after the first few seasons. Emma Samms only had good material in her last season, and while a part of me wishes PSM had been there for that, it wasn't worth the 3-4 years of absolute trash Emma had to play.

I guess you could say that Heather Locklear stuck it out (while doing other properties) and earned a lengthy career in the industry, but she may have been an exception to the rule.

I thought Claudia was an interesting character. I liked that she looked like the average woman compared to some of the others, and that she had all these longstanding neuroses which were consistent on a very inconsistent show. I liked that she was fragile and not able to just be written via catfight and dramatic exit from a room. I even liked her opening credits scene. Steven angrily undoing his tie is the one that always got on my nerves.

The thing about Locklear is that nobody, and I really do mean nobody, has a bad word to say about her, be it the TJ Hooker, Dynasty, Melrose Place or Spin City sets...that's how she earned her career. She isn't a pain in the ass, didn't piss people off, showed up for work, knew her lines and has gone home. Despite a limited range, she really is one of the most prolific television actresses ever.

What about "Steven's Lover" Luke Fuller and Billy Campbell...any word on him on the set...did he like doing the roll? I suppose so since he did other gay characters. I thought he was so cute when he was younger and playing naive Luke.

Absolutely. The character Corley had signed up to play was being decimated, so I can't blame him for leaving. As for PSM, it seems she wasn't all that interested in TV or even acting for a long period of time and after the quality of the show nosedived in Season 3 and Fallon was lobotomized, I would have been stunned if she stayed. In fact, it seems to me she stayed longer than expected.

Heather Locklear, despite all the personal problems she's dealt with the past couple of years, seems to be the ultimate show-biz pro - the opposite of her characters Sammy Jo and Amanda. It seems she leaves everything else at the door and is ready to get to work.

I sometimes wonder, given Billy Campbell's obvious appeal, if he'd been kept around longer, what would have happened. I'm sure he would have been popular with viewers. They probably would have magically turned Luke bisexual. Still, a scenario where he became close to Blake, like a son, and both Steven and Adam were resentful about it and Adam was all, "Now you know how it feels," and Steven is all, "What do you mean, idiot? He never liked me either," and they melodramatically brawl and then plot with Alexis to overthrow Blake while Luke sided with Krystal and Blake and Dominique and whoever else - I would have been entertained.
