Thank goodness Serena got rid of this guy a few years ago.  John Isner was the one who introduced Serena to Poole in the first place!

Serena Williams’ former training partner faces charges in hit and run crash in Palm Beach

My question is, how does the tennis industry manage to give all this talk about respect while simultaneously keeping quiet about assault (Gimelstob) stalking, hit and run (Poole) and rape (Bob Hewitt).

Nick is plenty problematic, I won't argue against that but why won't tennis keep that same energy for the assault perpetrators, stalkers and rapists in their midst?

Thiem not happy about not being allowed to leave grounds till late yesterday and I am assuming his 10 am start. He was the only one the top seeds playing early....he looked rather passed during his match.

That was supposed to be an addendum to my previous post and got separated by your post.  Carole Bouchard is a French journalist who sometimes has insight but if you go to her social media, you'll see that she often promotes her book on Djokovic.  Gilbert, we already know about his numerous links with tennis in broadcasting and their Florida campus.  He's still put out by not being in the run-off to fill Gimelstob's old seat.  I've never heard him use his voice or platform to criticize Nastase's nastiness or McEnroe's ignorant comments over the years.

So those two can just miss me with the criticism when no one mentions that Isner has close connections to two guys who've had felony charges facing them in court cases.

I've no problem with people putting Nick on blast but why remain quiet about Gimelstob and pedo Bob Hewitt who raped a half-dozen girls or more during his career?

Roger is an idiot for playing clay. I think he is more tired than anything. Will he pull out of Paris? If he is injured he has blown his chances to win Wimbledon.

Fognini hasn't done squat since winning Monte Carlo. He has lost early in the other tournaments or hasn't played so he shouldn't be tired unless his leg is giving him problems. I still don't know how he won MC. He moaned and complained in every match and somehow won.

Dušan Lajović hasn't done anything either since his final appearance at MC. Losing early the following weeks and losing in qualifying in both Madrid and Italy.

As for Sasha ....he is looking for points....Tsitsipas will soon pass him in the rankings.....

And Roger won a total of 3 matches on clay...pathetic....he shouldve lost to Borna this week.

    • In an interesting turn of irony, when Somerset came onto the airwaves in 1970... it ran against Dark Shadows and beat it in the ratings fairly quickly.  Then when Edge of Night moves to ABC in December 1975 and put against Somerset, the slow ratings rise that Somerset was allegedly having in late 1975 is derailed. From reading the write ups of the final year, the show dropped the May/December romance.. which viewers enjoyed and was getting the show some good press... the original cast member was sidelined due to medical issues, and the show featured pure crime stories without any balance. I think the crime focus was an attempt to compete with EON.  However, people that were into crime stories/mysteries weren't going to tune into Somerset for their fix.. not when Edge of Night was known for that.. and that show was running on a high quality wise when the network switch occurred.

    • Erwin Nicholson's last episode as SFT ep was 11/21. Whitesell started 11/22/85. Erwin was on board from March 8, 1985 so less than 9 months. Whitesell lasts six months (approximately) before P&G moved him to AW for two years where he primarily worked with DePriest. Whitesell was replaced on Search by no daytime experience David Lawrence who closed out the show's last six months.

    • I assume in name only?  One Stormy Night wasn't exactly steamy.  If it's a literal throwback then Stephanie's writing about sexy times her own Uncle was having lol. Since I am going to surmise it's just a throwback to the name, Night Sins and Winter Heat both sound sexier.  Just saying.  I swear Jamey (and Ron) just google things and land on the first thing they like and decide it's a good throwback to history without watching it.

    • Thanks!   Was anyone watching during this time? Wondering how Peggy’s rape played out onscreen. It just seems cruel to subject the Brooks family to this trauma a 2nd time.   Feels like the writers have already given up on the character of Jennifer, even though she sticks around another year-plus. She should be a passionate and fierce protective mother, but instead she seems just reactionary (and not even mentioned in this recap) This was also the case in ‘73 when Chris was raped. The writers are definitely more invested Stuart as the Brooks parent.
