I don't agree with these.

Best show- GH= HELL NO. It seems the article talks all about Genie Francis so they are giving it to GH pretty much based on that and all the buzz. ATWT or Y&R (for the first part of the year) should get this.

I'm a BIG ATWT fan but there's no way it was the best show of the year.

Thanks for saying that! Not many fans would say that about their own shows and that's something that pisses me off. When DAYS is bad, I'll admi that it's bad. When Y&R is bad, although it hasn't been in years, I admit. Does anyone read my posts in the Y&R threads? I don't think I've had anything nice to say about the show in months. I continue to watch it because I'm a fan and I stick with my shows through thick and thin.

I was thinking to about Lumi as Best Couple. I know some said they didn't agree with that one. I do.

When a couple even when not together can take in the midst of bad writing make you still see them as a couple then they have something special and that is what Lumi did all year.

I was one that liked Sami with EJ too, but even in the midst of JER's bad writing and trying to make you root for Sami & Austin and Lucas & Carrie - and many saying it was a Carrie/Austin story. It wasn't Lumi stole that story. No longer were you rooting for Carrie/Austin as it used to be - now the rooting couple for many was Lucas and Sami. And their love for one another shown through all that. I think of all the couples in the midst of the bad writing on Days this year, they were the ones that really accomplished that for me.

On DAYS, there was no established couple that spent most of the year together. J&M were only reunited in May and then disappeared for 2 months. J&J were reunited shortly before they left in September. Neither Bope nor S&K have been together AT ALL in 2006. Also, most "couples" tend to have their best stories when they are fighting to be together. When they become an actual couple, they get labelled "boring" and often end up on the backburner.

I am the same way, although I am usually more optimistic about DAYS than most. I don't know which soap was best this year, but it wasn't DAYS my favorite soap. I would say that it was one of the best though, but again thats just my opinion. With all that said, this has been a terrible year for soaps.

SOD got just about everything right except Best Show GH. Gimme a BREAK!

But Sami and Lucas haven't been "fighting to be togther". From the beginning of 2006, up until October, they have been "in love" with Austin and Carrie, respectively. It wasn't until A&C left that Lucas all of a sudden found his love for Sami and wanted to be with her. Best couple for 06? PLEASE!

I didn't say they had been. I was making a general point against the argument that couples have to be "together" to be eligible for the award.

IMO, Bope are the absolute LAST couple that deserve the award this year. I disagree that the story has been all about them and their love. It's been more about Hope grinding Bo under her shoe and throwing Zack's death in his face. All the established couples were trashed to an extent by JER but his writing for Bope was the most destructive.

I agree with all of the ATWT picks. They are, for the most part, right on.
