Obviously it can never get back to its "glory days" because Josh Ryan Evans is dead. Passions has been on a roll in the past couple of years. The pace has picked up tremendously, long-standing secrets have been revealed, things have been campy and outrageous...I don't get the hate bc I've enjoyed most everything I've seen on my screen. Theresa has been awesome lately since she is getting something different to work with. The quad sucks and the lack of vets is disturbing. They are still wasting Juliet Mills and stories still go in circles. July and August were so good but the last week has not been up to par IMO. Also, I really hate how EVERY character on this show is allowed to do something so [!@#$%^&*] out of character and it can be chalked up the supernatural element or a spell. It's stupid. Members RionPassions Posted September 6, 2006 Members Share Posted September 6, 2006 The quad has actually gotten a lot more interesting lately since Kay got her memory back, Fox slept with Siren, and now Kay has finally broken the mermaid's curse. Plus, Angry Fox is very, very cool. Yes, Tabitha has been wasted, but I think they're gearing up for a real showdown between her and Julian this time. Lancy are actually ruining the show for me. They're dull and boring. I want Fancy to become overwhelmed by jealousy when she realizes she's lost her TRUE LOVE Noah possibly for good because of her outrageous behaviour with Luis. Sheridan/Chris is interesting because the temp actors have breathed new life into the story. Theresa/Jared/Ethan has gotten really interesting-----Theresa and Ethan have sex AGAIN (yay!), and Theresa got some from Jared, too! Woo! Ethan's a total @$$hole jerk, but it's so good to see him jealous and unable to deal with it. The upcoming trial story with Stuart Allen has me on the edge of my seat because I will flip my lid if the Crane empire comes crumbling down and Theresa hits rock bottom again. I hope Theresa and Jared beat Ethan and Allen. And I hope someone knocks the smirk off Gwacko's smug face, too. Lack of vets? Tabitha and Julian are on quite a bit. Under-used, maybe. But they're still on quite frequently, and are the best of the bunch. Eve, TC, Pilar, and Katherine are boring, useless characters who shouldn't be used at all. The same goes for Sam and Ivy. Don't bother showing them unless Grace is gonna come back and bust up Poison Ivy's freaky game. If anyone's underused, it's Dylan Fergus as Noah. Fight for your woman, NOAH! He would never even consider killing Miguel. There was no spell-he just went from being angry to being in a murderous rage. I am fine with him wanting to beat the hell ouf of Miguel or wanting to destroy him but to have him pick up a hair dryer and contemplate murder is character destruction at it's best. Still, I don't think Passions EVER had a glory year. Since I started watching the show, then saw it on Sci Fi, I think it's largely crap and deserves the low ratings it gets. What is good about PSNS is that it's campy fun. The pacing is terrible, the acting can be very bad and most of the storylines suck. I think the idea of Passions could be successful (see: Emmy-nominated Port Charles), but you'd need a good team of writers an an executive producer who is going to cast for talent and not looks. Re: the last time Passions was "GOOD!" was Summer 2003. It warms my heart to think of the pit and the crazy fabulousness it brought onto the show. It's an undercover operation and they have to actually FORNICATE to an AUDIENCE at this club to take the bad guys down?!!! gRRRR!!! Even so, i'm sure these will be keeper episodes.
