UMMM *HOW* is this about "realism" and why would realism even WORK on a soap like Passions? I think it sounds liek a fun stunt that suits Passions. That's it

Don't forget Precious! Why they didn't recast (though it would've been difficult) is beyond me. Still, I don't think Passions EVER had a glory year. Since I started watching the show, then saw it on Sci Fi, I think it's largely crap and deserves the low ratings it gets. What is good about PSNS is that it's campy fun. The pacing is terrible, the acting can be very bad and most of the storylines suck. I think the idea of Passions could be successful (see: Emmy-nominated Port Charles), but you'd need a good team of writers an an executive producer who is going to cast for talent and not looks.

Now onto the sex...

WHEN WILL THIS AIR?! Luis naked? I MUST BE THERE!

HAHA I agree 100% I remember the promos for Passions made it seem liek this great spooky fun *scary* Gothic soap... I got hints at that the first few months but... When Malone and Griffith first left OLTL around 95/96 their great producer L Gottlieb and them were hired by Fox to create a late night 30 min soap to air at 11:30. THey created 13 Bourbon St, a gothic soap set in New Orleans dealing with ghosts and voodoo but also traditional soap elements. The pilot got GREAT reviews in the soap press (yes it was filmed) and sadly the show was officially picked up then dropped a few weeks before it was set to premiere. I admit--I was hoping Passions would be that kinda soap... Maybe unfair

What I mean by realism is that there might be nudity or even a little of more realistic language. I mean this is a story about investigating a porn industry. The diologue and things should make sense to the story. That is something we hardly ever get on soaps anymore.

I can remember when NYPD Blue came on. It was like a breath of fresh air to see the little big rougher language, and the little bit of nudity. It made it feel more like a cop show or the cop show that it was. That type of realism that the language or the nudity fits the situation is the type of realism that I am talking about.

I can remember I think it was Doug Davidson who used to talk about every sex scene that the guy in soaps used to get up from the bed with his underwear still on. It said it was so unreal because that hardly ever happens in real life. I know sometimes now we see the guy go through the motions of putting underwear back on or they might get up and wrap a sheet around themself. But the sheet thing how often does that really happen, esp. between longtime lovers or spouses. I mean I can't see the big deal about every once in awhile in those type scenes that there has to be a problem with showing the guy or the girl from behind. It doesn't have to be every show. I mean just get a little more real.

Another example is back when I was growing up, briefs were the norm for guys, but on TV every guy you saw wore boxers because that is what the censors preferred or even in some cases I remember one actor saying he was required to wear briefs under his boxers.

I don't expect soaps to be 100% realistic and esp. not Passions, but at least treat me with respect and make the situations a little more normal.

More details - Source: SOW

Fancy goes undercover (without permission) as a stripper in order to be Luis' backup. Luis spots her and places money into her panties, in order to chat with her.

The gangster wonders if they know each other so to cover up their identities, Fancy gives Luis a lapdance. From there, it escalates into porno.

The result is a scandal in Harmony.
