Beth is doing a fantastic job. I'm starting to wonder if DAYS should've just gave her the head writing job and kept their budget the way it was without Hogan's huge salary.

I think Hogan will take the show to #1 with Beth's help. He's more daring than she is, but Beth knows the show inside out. They should be a perfect match I think.

Kayla is going to be Hope's new Jennifer. It disappoints me because I always favored the Hope and Lexie. I know that friendship was tarnished after the baby switch, but Hope did forgive Lexie. I hope Kayla and Hope open up to Lexie. I think the three of them would be really cute together, shopping and gossiping around Hope's kitchen table.

Now that Austin and Carrie's characters are being written off the show, I won't be surprised if Lexie is written out too.

I heard from Matthew Ashford's fan event that 10 characters are being written off DAYS.

On to todays show:

This is without a doubt a non JER show, so many character interactions I wasnt expecting. This whole week has been great for me because of all the different interactions. Finally just somethign new and different. One of my favorite characters right now is Chelsea and this week alone she has been in scenes with Lexie, Billie, Austin, Sami, Max, Stephanie, and possibly Abby and EJ from memory. Its just nice to see people actually interact outside of their usual bubbles for once. If this continues Beth will get a nice letter from moi!

How great is this new Stephanie, Shanya Rose just has a presence on screen that demands attention. So far she has held her own with everyone, even with the talented Stephen Nichols. I hope she continues to grace our screens as long as it doesnt coem all about her i.e. Chloe of Our Lives.

Bo/John/Eve scenes: Its nice seeing John like this. I agree with King and others who are liking this side of John. Some of it may be the writing, but Drake isnt breathing extra hard, doing an eyebrow, or biting on his jaw every 30 seconds. I hope Kate is brought down to her knees, I want everyone in Salem to give her a schlacking.

Patrick/Hope: Please!

Chelsea/Austin, Chelsea/Billie scenes: Both were refreshign to watch. I loved how Chelsea gave Austin some hard truth and let him have it. Of course peachy nice Austin just upped and walked away. The mom/daughter scenes were also nice.

EJ is coming out of nowhere in all of his scenes, but I cant help it I love EJ. Maybe its Scott Wells fantastic portrayal, but I enjoy watching EJ on my screen. How hot were Sami and EJ, it helps both actors looked amazing. Austin Peck ruined the scenes with his pathetic attempt at acting.

Kayle/Hope: Some more family scenes, just wish Kayla was on more.

Tomorrow's looks to be another good one!

The one great thing about different characters interacting throughout the episode, is it breaks up the repeative dialouge..

With JER you would have Sami, Lucas, Austin, Carrie or Shawn, Mimi, Belle, Phillip all in theirs apartment having same the same conversation through out the whole episode..But now we are getting some scenes with them together, then they branch out during the episode..and i love that...

OH and EJ and Sami were scorching hot today...the oyster scene was great..

Why are Bo and Steve at Dune? A dance club is not really where I see them two, LOL.

I am LOVING Eve. Is this chick great or what? She is hot, and she can act too! I'm hoping she is one of Hogan's creations that the "ghostwriter" was told to create. I want Eve to stay with the show. The actress playing her has great chemistry with Drake Hogestyn. And it's also great to see the actress out of that damn cop uniform and into normal clothes. She is hot!!!

My thoughts, too. Drew. Why were they at Dune, but then Stephanie shows up and it must have been prearranged for them to meet there and Bo just hung out with him (and then went boozed up to work at the station LOL).

I love this Eve, too. Her voice is wonderful and so is her smile. She was so cool, not forward or too anything. Just a delightful person. She and Drake looked mighty fine together.

All the interactions were good. The actors must be singing to have this jazzed up dialog and pairings. What I'm hating though is Sami with EJ on her wedding eve night. It is so obviously plot driven and I really don't like that. Why the pearl earrings in the oyster shells? Way overboard. No man living would allow his bride to be bunking with EJ on the eve of her wedding (even on a soap). It should be Austin if either one of them. So the writers don't get kudos from me on that.

My favorite of today's show was Steph and Steve. That was like a dream come true to see them and hear them and just savor them. Days did good bringing Shayna in for Steve and Kayla's daughter.

Patrick and Hope were ADORABLE too... I like how natural they feel together onscreen.

Yeah. Drake hasn't had that "I smell a fart" look on his face in two days. AND he's not WHISPERING everything. Maybe the time off lit a fire under him.

I have been thinking the same thing. The show is awesome right now! I wonder if some stranger to Salem will be able to do nearly this good, plus the new writer probably didn't come cheap.

For the first time in years, I truly enjoyed John's scenes for two consecutive days. I expect snowstorm to strike the East Coast in August. I also agree that day player who portrays Eve is doing a fine job.

As for all the family/friend interaction? Whoa, ho, ho, and a bottle of rum! Chelsea trying to *help* her Uncle Austin, Stephanie telling her dad that the only thing her and her mom couldn't survive was losing Steve again, Hope and Kayla's chat on the couch, Bo and Hope actually getting to the bottom of those blasted e-mails. JER has definitely left Salem township.

I loved the look on Sami's face when she realized that Austin believed her when she explained her lack of attire. The way Sami was much happier about Austin's trust than she was about EJ's romantically staged dinner and gift, is one of the ways that AS keeps Sami from being a one-dimensional villain. Austin was funny when he finally warned EJ to watch how he phrased his words. Yesterday, the expression on Chelsea's face when EJ said that Sami could sleep with him the night before the wedding was a LOL moment for me. Sweeney and Melvin aren't as funny as AS and AZ were, but they do have comic potential.

Patrick and Hope in handcuffs was about as contrived as Sami spending the night at EJ's, but the scene at the police station with Bo was worth it. The writers need to give Hope some of her spunk back, and the KA needs to give Hope some of her curves back. She is still a beautiful woman, but she looked so much better the last time that she was pregnant.

It looks like the actors are having a good time now. They have to thrilled to be working opposite some different faces, and to not have to repeat the same lines over and over again. I hope they get their ice cream back soon, the cast, crew, and writers deserve it.

OMG, I'm watching the tape right now.

Um, poor Austin. When Chelsea asked if she could join him I would've said, "No way!" Really, who would want to sit with this disgusting !@#$%^&*] who thinks her 200 hours of community service at the hospital is SO atrocious when she KILLED a little boy and acts so casual about it!

Because "Days" was too cheap (or couldn't afford yeah right) to rent another set. I agree, the show was FAB, but that was a bit ridic. So was Stephanie hanging out at this dance club with HER FATHER. And Kayla coming and having it be a FAMILY EVENT. But the show was great so I can forgive that.

Did anyone get excited when Eve slipped and said Kate had told her about john and marlena separating..That was a great mini cliffhanger..

Oh, thank you so much, KevC! I was so shocked by that! Nice save by Eve. Did I mention I honestly don't want her to get caught now that she's a sympathetic character who's working with Kate for the money for her FAMILY? I'm so sappy!

Just a great, solid episode today. I really have nothing to complain about.

I loved the Dune action. I thought it was weird that Stephanie was there and drinking, but small things... I loved how Eve nearly slipped about Kate and then basically turned the tables when she caught John with Bo. Those scenes were almost Reilly-esque, but this SL hasn't been played ad naseum, so I guess it worked anyway, LOL.

Loved seeing Steve with Bo. Glad Bo mentioned both Ernesto and Lawrence. I got a bit of an inspiration. What if Stefano made deals with all these men. I mean, Hope from Ernesto to Steffie. Marlena from Orpheus to Steffie. Maybe Steve from Lawrence to Steffie. That'd be interesting. Of course, probably a little too close to take-over-the-world Tony for most of our tastes, but definitely something to make you go hmm...

EJ/Sami was cute. Loved the Brady Fish Market mention. Enjoyed EJ for the first time in weeks. It's the new day/dialogue and shirtlessness, I'm sure.

It was nice to see Austin and Chelsea in scenes. The Uncle Austin or does that make you feel too old exchange was priceless. I have grown to love Chelsea

There was nice closure for the little Patrick/Billie fan in me. I liked Billie's very simple scenes today. Give her a decent SL Hoagie, or I'ma kick your ass!

Patrick/Hope was cute. Make her a cop again! Now! I miss feisty Hopeless. When they went into the station and Bo was there--that was a cute exchange. I liked Hope chiding Bo about his mega hate-on for Patrick. Love conquers all, doesn't it? I'm glad the focus was taken away from the Bo proving he didn't steal the evidence and the focus was on the lies and the deceit that are not all surfaced yet.

Interesting little backstory for Eve. Could be interesting to see her stick around...DAYS needs non-familial characters...
