  1. Agree - Peter Porte is a good, talented, actor and was wasted in the role and by the writing. Ron is a problem and his propping of useless Leo is an issue.
  2. So not a single appearance for Lauren Koslow in November since she's been dropped to recurring? That is so disappointing.
  3. Shannon has been such an entitled pig about her DUI that I can’t have much sympathy for her. Back up the Brinks truck to Alexis and let’s get this season rolling.
  4. Linda was a workhorse and stayed at Attitudes for a long time - that exposure was so good for her career. Her cohost in that clip, Jerry, went on to be a very well liked and respected correspondent for Extra - he always got a warm welcome from anyone he met on the red carpet.
  5. Make that money Lu and Sonja!
  6. Harmless, cute, light as a feather TV movie. I'm glad they all got to do it and qualify for their SAG/AFTRA health insurance. My bet is the part Morgan played was originally written for Dame Joan. The mention of 5 husbands and cooking English Christmas cake, and the dialog in general, had Joan written all over it. Loni's part also sounded like Morgan when they mentioned she studied rare diseases (Morgan does this IRL). The irony is for my griping that Loni did not have the soap pedigree, she was actually the best part of it and that's because she's a sitcom actress. She knew how to liven up the lines. She looked and sounded very much like she did in the 90s. By far the most vibrant and she's 78. While Donna looks good, she's very stiff and her voice, like Linda Gray's has aged considerably. Both Donna and Linda seemed a bit frail. Nicollette looked really hard. Morgan is certainly zaftig but she still sounds like herself and has her swagger. I wonder how this might have been different if produced by Hallmark - their movies tend to have a sweeter tone.
  7. Agreed on all counts. Morgan is bizarre. It took about 2 minutes of exposure for me to dislike new girl. Kyle is such a hypocrite - always has been - but I'm glad Sutton came ready to play. I thought the eating disorder comment from Kyle was really ugly. Scratch beneath the surface with that one and she's a horrible person.
  8. I always wondered if Aaron knew Bill or was a fan of his. That's nice to know.
  9. I’m no wig expert but I think Donna’s is a human hair lace front while Morgan’s is not - more like shake and go.
  10. I recall Jeanne referring to her as "Maria Arena"...she left off the Bell.
  11. RHOBH Kathy Hilton couldn't help herself and made some definitive statements about Kyle and Mauricio's breakup: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12796997/Kathy-Hilton-breaks-silence-Kyle-Richards-split-Mauricio-Umansky-saying-sister-strong-hinting-separation-serious.html
  12. I really do not enjoy this Nneka at all. She is very impressed with herself and I see no reason for her to be. Agreed on all counts. I did not enjoy last night's episode at all and think this season of Potomac is a dud. Given the woman who made allegations against Chris Bassett has now admitted she made all of it up and is admitting that she's 100% in the wrong it's time to take a look at who instigated and promoted that lie. Robyn and Gizelle both fanned those flames on their podcast. Mia is a dud. Everything Wendy said about her appears to be true. The sole redeeming feature of the season is Karen. She is still hilarious.
  13. I have always thought the reason why I consider Bill Bell's Y&R and B&B to be a 'cut above' the rest comes down to a single word: control. Bill had a singular vision and executed that singular vision for 25 years at Y&R. After 1998 through to his death in 2005, he still exerted an amount of control that no other soap opera writer/producer did at both Y&R and B&B.
  14. That is exactly the problem. Morgan apparently had a health issue from exposure to mold and in her own words, she "ballooned" and she's struggled to take that weight off. Fillers are so challenging to balance against symmetry and weight gain throws it all off. Morgan is a nice, well liked person and I wish she hadn't had to deal with this. I also dislike the wig she's wearing there - I think she recently cut her hair for a role, but she would look better with a more voluminous wig like the one Donna is wearing that would frame her face and give some balance.
  15. Susan Sullivan would have been wonderful. She recently had surgery for lung cancer (she never smoked). Joan Van Ark might look like a burn victim but she has a sense of humour about herself. I enjoyed her scenes in the Dallas reboot. I loved that Morgan pointed out that Loni wasn't like the rest of them. She knows what's up. Nicollette should loosen up. Knots Landing was a primetime soap - it just happened to be better made than the rest of them and lacked some of the melodramatic production flourishes.
  16. Yes, this really makes me sad. Sad for Lauren, sad for those who love to watch her, and sad for the show. There is certainly every possibility that she can be recurring like Judi Evans is and have good scenes to play. DAYS has done recurring better than a lot of shows. What I do not want to see is an unceremonious exit for Kate and LK. That is not how a character like Kate Roberts goes out. That is not how an actress like LK goes out. She has been a 27 year veteran of the show for an uninterrupted run. No one on the cast could claim that anymore.
  17. I didn't see this elsewhere, but I am really sad to hear this. She has been a favourite of mine for decades and always made whatever nonsensical writing they threw at her work.
  18. That press release was about as laudatory as I've ever witnessed. Whew.
  19. It seems that after the GEB tried, and failed, to take down Karen, that Wendy is the only option they have left. I hope she doesn't go down without a fight. Robyn deserves all the misery headed her way. This Nneka seems like a terrible person, so I won't be surprised at anything she pulls. Ashley should be ashamed of herself. She has no scruples or morals or ethics.
  20. Season 6, the final season, has premiered with the first 4 episodes. The final 6 will be released in mid December. I have watched all of the first 4 and found myself overcome in a couple of instances. One was a throwaway line by a minor character that meant so much now that The Queen is gone. The other concerned the death of Diana and the particular creative choice that the writers made. Elizabeth Debicki was absolutely perfect. Flawless. She has set a bar that no actress will ever achieve in portraying Diana. My heart broke for her. Dominic West was also excellent as Charles. There is a particular scene after Diana has died in which he portrayed this level of grief that was also heartbreaking. Anyone who recalls Diana's death in 1997 will likely agree that he captured Charles' devastation. The writing was good in that it treated Diana, Charles, and The Queen fairly and none of them were villains. It acknowledged the complexity of their lives intersecting. There is a scene in the first episode of this season where Diana and Charles talk about being brilliant at divorce and I am so glad it was included because not everyone remembers that the last year of Diana's life was harmonious with Charles and there was footage and photographs of the two of them hugging goodbye after an event for William. By that point in time, relations were friendly, which is why Charles was as devastated as he was when she died. The only thing I think the writers got wrong was their portrayal of Mohammed Al Fayed. The episode devoted to him in the previous season was so excellent that the writing for him in this season felt a bit more of a caricature.
  21. Truly - when you look at what networks and streamers are spending on programming, for dwindling returns, the soaps are clearly the most durable investment. They out-rate most of their competition and are produced for less than their competition and generate content 365 days a year - only news programming can claim the same.
  22. I've watched Y&R for decades, and I always assumed that Victor and Nikki were egotistical enough to name their children after themselves - so colour me shocked to learn that's not the case!
  23. I so wanted that to happen because they had real heat and when Jill was coming off her divorce she could have done with a younger man. If Jill had been the spoiler between Nina and Victoria's rivalry over Ryan that would have been fabulous and hilarious. I had also hoped for the same with Jill and Malcolm. They had some great scenes as friends in the late 90s and early 00s - totally believable chemistry.
  24. And it's a nice set at that, with depth and colour etc. Way nicer than most of the recent sets of the last 10 years.
  25. Right? Like all 110 lbs of Dame Joan would have crushed a stud like Michael Nader? That he and Alexis didn't get a happy ending in the reunion was terrible. Dame Joan loves a good pair of matching cuff bracelets...and is friends with Lynda Carter IRL...so you never know... It certainly didn't help that Forsythe that Blake 1) always had to win and 2) would not screw around on Krystle. Ali MacGraw recounted that Forsythe protested to her and Rock Hudson joining the show, telling the producers that America did not want to see "anyone f-cking around with the Carringtons" That Blake and Krystle stayed together the entire series really hampered it. They never evolved. Alexis had repetitive storylines with Blake, but her romantic storylines evolved over time with other actors.
