  1. I have dipped back in to watch Vivian’s appearance and was pleasantly surprised to see Kate back to form and not in the Brady pub. Today’s episode where she gave Xander a dressing down about casting him as a dumb hunk was dripping with venom.
  2. Great post and points. I really enjoyed watching Stacey on with Countess Luann on WWHL. They clicked right away and had a blast on the show. Ashley Darby needs to go. She has no storyline at all and hasn't for years. She's been dragging out this divorce with Demon Darby for the last 3 seasons and she's apparently so stupid in managing her finances pre and post separation that she has to hustle hosting standup shows to support herself after letting Demon Darby sleep with her for years and years. Deadline is now reporting it, so it seems legit: https://deadline.com/2024/11/bravo-the-real-housewives-of-dubai-pause-1236170556/ I never managed to enjoy it and the ratings were in the toilet. I saw that shirt and the Kate Roberts GIF became instantly appropriate.
  3. SLC I enjoyed last night's episode but I have an observation about wealth on this franchise: Whitney and Justin remarked on how this trip is 'next level' and their conversation implied that these new friends of theirs (Bronwyn and Todd) are rich, and they want to stay in their good graces. Bronwyn remarked that she expected loyalty and that, at the very least, she's bought loyalty with this trip.
  4. It's incredible bang for the buck and why I think CBS greenlit Beyond The Gates - soaps produce an incredible amount of content on a comparably shoestring budget. Plus, when Hollywood went on strike, the soaps kept going because of the separate contract. I think if Peacock folded, the show has proven its value and would find a home elsewhere. That's the upside of streaming, you aren't locked into a timeslot and therefore not really locked into a 'channel'.
  5. I laughed when he said it. Morrow really means it.
  6. Absolutely. Whatever goodwill Mia had coming off the reunion has been blown entirely for me. She is gutter and the use of her child's paternity for a storyline is beyond gross.
  7. She looks great with her hair smooth like that and her dress and jewelry were very 90s Power Jill...great to see her back. Jess loves Ed Scott - she always thanked him by name when she won her Emmys. I remember that scene. It was one involving Jill and Ryan McNeil in her office. The camera was behind the sink in her office bar and swung into frame.
  8. Wonderful news for DAYS - I still enjoy the occasional episode when one of my favourites is onscreen. Very happy for the cast and crew.
  9. OC this season is excellent. As you say, not a single filler episode and the season flew by. Emily is really skilled at managing her relationships on the show. Katie has clearly gotten under Heather's skin and I love it. Heather is mean and I doubt anyone on the cast, hell, any waiter in Los Angeles, would disagree. I feel the same way for Sonja. May she have many happy, healthy years in her West Palm Beach abode. Perfect description. I just want to add that Ashley is trash for making the comment to K about her scar when she is indirectly responsible for it. Jassi has her number and is not afraid to tangle. Potomac IS so back. I am loving this season.
  10. So it looks like Tamra and Heather are doubling down on being the most unlikeable castmates on Bravo. It is stunning how awful they are. It also looks like Shannon is going to have her day of reckoning with Jesus Jugs and she will have Emily as backup to nuke her. Can't wait.
  11. OG RHONY Our beloved Sonja Morgan has bought a waterfront condo in West Palm Beach for $600,000. It is a humble abode of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in about 1,170 sq feet but I remember how much happier Sonja was in her small apartment at Columbus Circle that she rented while her albatross of a townhouse was tenanted. NY Post broke the story: https://nypost.com/2024/10/29/real-estate/sonja-morgan-buys-600k-florida-condo/ Palm Beach Post has the best image gallery of the place: https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/news/local/westpb/2024/10/31/sonja-morgan-of-real-housewives-of-new-york-buys-florida-west-palm-beach-condo/75943259007/ I sincerely hope that Sonja finds peace and healing in her new home and is unburdened from her past. Ramona has a condo a few blocks away (I note it is not waterfront...) that she paid $715,000 for a couple of years ago.
  12. Me too. The new ranch set is beautiful and a very fitting tribute to the original, and to EB and MTS who were genuinely touched. Now, time to repair the Chancellor mansion set, which shouldn’t be too hard. It needs to be turned back to the original orientation so badly.
  13. You really have to hand it to Jenn, she handed Tamra her ass and exposed her as a lying piece of trash. That Tamra swore on her children's names...I shake my head. No wonder at least one of them doesn't speak to her. It has been a bad week from Tamra given the internet as a whole unleashed fury on her when she claimed that, after a single therapy session, she has been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum and that it stems from trauma suffered 15 years ago. That's not how autism works...and the autism community let Tamra know.
  14. Absolutely. Another issue is once the business storylines got involved in these 'media' companies (trying to be 'hip' a la Facebook etc) it's hard as an audience to care because there is no product, nothing tangible to understand. Cosmetics made sense. It involved advertising, the Glow by Jabot Teens, the Brash & Sassy line, the photographers and the models...they really should dump all these nonsensical non-companies and get back to basics.
  15. A very talented actor who would be great casting. CBS was long referred to as the 'Tiffany Network' because of its perceived high quality.
  16. I have a love/hate relationship with the show featuring Jess Walton via Zoom. On the one hand, I love seeing her, and this is a novel way to do it. On the other hand, I hate that the show couldn't be bothered to send her a Jill Abbott suit and insist that she hot roll her hair. I can clearly see that she is filming in a corner of her home office with the beauty of Oregon reflected in the glass of a picture frame.
  17. I look forward to seeing that set because those angles look quite similar to the original ranch set.
  18. Gizelle really blew it in episode 2 and it appears that Ashley joins her in really blowing it in episode 3. They could have played it graciously and then Karen would have looked like the insensitive one...but no, their true motivations could not be held back and Gizelle and Ashley came off horribly. Karen inviting all of them to an event honouring her the same night as Gizelle's event? Tacky, and something Karen has done in the past. However, Karen advised that there would be transportation so the women could attend both events. Classy, and when they told her they were leaving her event around 7:30pm, she was nothing but nice about it. Gizelle showed her ass, yet again, by throwing out Stacey and Mia and the others. This GNA wellness farce (they only have 5 pieces of white labelled merch on the site) being combined with an event to raise funds for brain tumour research was clearly only about Gizelle lapping up praise. Ashley really looked like an idiot given she told the women to be there by 8pm, which they complied with. She was only too happy to throw those women under the bus when Gizelle started moaning that they were rude. For Ashley to say "it is 8:04" and then bring down the donation QR code? Bitch, please.
  19. To me, it's easy: Natalie Minardi Slater. She was with Y&R since 1991, beginning as a production assistant to rise to breakdown writer and script editor before Griffith axed her. She is young enough than most of the HW crop out there and is worth a try.
  20. Note what Ed Scott says himself in that interview with Michael Fairman. He says he was "Bill Bell's Top Gun in the studio" - aka he was Bill Bell's enforcer. That role is needed on a set and on a show like Y&R that's got a lot of personalities. He's spent his career in the booth communicating with the actors and driving the production and he's extremely good at it. That doesn't mean that Ed Scott didn't and doesn't play favourites. It's human nature to do so. However, my observation is he really boosted talented people and did what he could to muffle nonsense and diva behaviour, blind, of course, to his own wife. In Jeanne's book, she was not critical of Ed. She pointed out that MTS got weird for years with her and would not speak to her off the set, for no reason as far as Jeanne knew. He wanted Brenda Dickson out because she was a complete pain in the ass and the producers knew they had a far more talented replacement available in Jess Walton.
  21. This can only be good news for the show. Griffith has failed. He needs to go.
  22. POTOMAC Great start to the season. While I miss Candiace's witty remarks, I know the show could not go on with her given producers continue to want to employ Gizelle and her absence was not really felt. Robyn has been a non-entity for years so I didn't notice her absence in the slightest. Ashley and Wendy are trotting out the same tired storylines they've been relying on for years. Nobody cares anymore about Demon Darby (copyright Danny Pellegrino) and Wendy's fake jobs/businesses that she does for the show just don't work for me. I don't concur with @Gray Bunny (and we're usually always in sync) about Ashley's look: I thought her wigs looked tragic and her breast implants a bit wonky. The new girls have promise...though I think Stacy is going to end up showing her ass trying to be Karen 2.0. There is only one Grande Dame. Speaking of which, I will be very interested to see how Karen's DUI pans out because she is dealing with it in a very different way than OC's Shannon has. I liked the scenes with Karen and Gizelle because they have an easy 'frenemy' chemistry where their disputes do not run deep. OC Speaking of which, Shannon went into this season in probably the worst position she could have imagined...yet Tamra's constant attacks on Shannon have spectacularly backfired and Shannon's ownership of her DUI and general misery makes her wholly sympathetic. Tamra is just too mean and too spiteful. It's a good thing she's gotten a recent facelift because Tamra was starting to get the face she deserves. Her upper arms...on the other hand...show what she's trying to hide. Katie and Jen are both great additions, though I think with Katie she'll have a rough season 2 because all the discussion around her custody matters hint there's lots of negativity lurking beneath. Jen can date an FBI informant all she likes: she is not backing down to Tamra and said it this past week that Tamra is loyal to no one but herself. Emily and Heather's confrontation wasn't a good look for anyone. Emily needs to move past her fixation on how other people look at her while Heather's comment about the dress she put Emily in being "tight" highlights that Heather can be cutting and mean. I enjoy the Gina storyline because she represents that part of OC that Lauri Peterson originated: down on your luck, rebuilding, living in cramped quarters, trying to make it work. Alexis is a loser and I hope that this season will be the last we see of her and Johnny J. Shannon has set clear boundaries and protected her sanity and it's made Alexis furious as she realizes she's been easily outmaneuvered. Good. SLC Really enjoying it this year. Bronwyn came in guns blazing. She dresses like a clown. Claims to be 38 when she looks about 51. Mary's return is welcome. Of course, I don't forget that she appeared to be a cult leader happy to soak her congregation for all they're worth, and her parenting is abysmal given what's going on with her son, but she's clearly enjoying this season more. Plus, Britani irritates her to no end, which is amusing to watch. Whitney and her 'hilling journey' is going to continue to have a bad season and she deserves it. Last episode's reveal that her Prism jewelry is just overpriced junk from Alibaba is such a bad look. Meredith has nuked her with that one. Heather does not have much of a storyline this season from the looks of things, so it'll be interesting to see if she can pull anything together later on. The same applies to Meredith and to Lisa as well - what exactly are any of them doing other than interacting? That said, they have organic chemistry and I enjoy watching them, so perhaps it doesn't matter. Britani and that troublesome Osmond is both sympathetic and pathetic at the same time.
  23. What a shocking loss. My jaw dropped when I saw an acquaintance post the news on social media. He never phoned it in and committed to the role. He had a sense of humour and the audience loved him for it. What a terrible loss for DAYS and all who loved him.
  24. Heather played it all wrong when it came to Emily and her emotional response about the clothes when, in the Talking Head Interview, she said the dress was "tight" on Emily. Emily was not really blaming Heather. She was having a 'relatable moment' about her body and how she was feeling. Alexis, idiot that she is, didn't realize Emily was giving her a compliment and putting herself down when she said it was tough being in the same dress as size 2 Alexis. Tamra is super awful and she miscalculated the audience's reaction to Shannon and her DUI. She thought she would go hard on Shannon and be respected for it...but Tamra just comes across as an evil bitch who is wholly disingenuous. Shannon, on the other hand, has let it all hang out, yet again, and the audience will always root for that. Jenn Pedranti is like an original OC housewife - financially a mess, incapable of being an adult, and struggling to parent children. Now that she's also got a boyfriend cooperating with the FBI, she's going to reach icon status.
  25. I agree, the premiere was great and SLC has started off strong. I don't like the new housewife, Bronwyn, because she's trying very hard, her 'fashion' is the Chanel Ayan stupidity that I can't stand, and she's looking rough for 38. I do like the new friend, Britani, because of that Osmond connection. Plus, she irritated Mary and that was hilarious. Whitney has had this coming for years. She is a huge liar and it was refreshing to see Heather, Lisa, and Meredith just go hard on her. She deserves it.
