  1. The show had a much better sense of itself and its exterior back in the 90s, but it's always been a mashup of vague Cape Cod (the Brady Pub), Victorian (the Horton house), and urban landscape (I recall the backdrop of Marlena's penthouse was San Francisco) with some fantastical mansions thrown in. The show started going with Illinois in recent times but for years it was some kind of fantasy land where it was in the Midwest but you could sail into the ocean.
  2. The stock footage they use for establishing shots is weird across the board. The establishing shot for the Kiriakis mansion would be better used for the Newman Ranch over on Y&R.
  3. These three episodes are truly excellent television. Trial By Error is one of my favourite episodes for how it ends: Jessica playing sweet to the real killer and then showing her total disgust in the last frame.
  4. I’d watch the hell out of this. The return of the Jabot Men’s Line, Jill’s big success, passed onto Billy, would be so relevant given the real world explosion in men’s grooming.
  5. I tuned in to see Sami and Vivian return to the show. I have also dipped into Y&R, B&B and BTG and I have to say I think DAYS is easily the most entertaining of them by a mile. There have been so many fun 'moments' where regardless of the writing, the actors have chemistry and history that makes their scenes magical. Lauren Koslow and Ali Sweeney haven't lost an ounce of their chemistry. I loved the scene where they gossiped in the Brady Pub. Have also enjoyed LK's scenes with JPL, who has won me over as Philip. Galen Gering has been great lately and his scenes with AS were no exception. Loved the random Rafe and Sami hookup. Finally, Louise Sorel is always wonderful. She brought the chaos. I loved the last scene between Sami and Vivian - the show, back in the 90s, would have Sami and Vivian scenes where Sami would get advice from 'Auntie Viv' - a great little wink to the past.
  6. I watched today's episode - does Brad Bell actually have the guts to write out Scott Clifton? It would be a good decision, so I doubt it.
  7. I really feel we might have just watched the death of BH during this reunion. It was so ugly. Kyle talking about LVP's house...typical Kyle wanting to live on Oak Pass Rd just because someone more fabulous than her already is. In Countess Luann news...I saw her cabaret show recently. It was amazing how much the audience loved her. People were screaming like they were seeing Elvis or the Beatles. She packed in a great crowd. Sang much better than you'd expect, had 4 costume changes, a 3 piece band, did a Countess Trivia game where her mugshot was used when the wrong answer was given, and belted out all of her greatest hits with the confidence of Tina Turner. She has a lot of energy and clearly loves the audience. Yes, it's really interesting to take a breather from these shows when they've reached toxicity like BH has - and not for the first time.
  8. 100% - it would be a grave error for Tilly to return. She has had a great 'Friend Of' season and she should leave it at that. The banshees will be coming for Sutton and Tilly and they'll divide them to conquer.
  9. BH What was that third part of the reunion? Talk about filler. This was, at best, a 2 part reunion. Garcelle walked off and knew she was done with the show right then and there. Good for her.
  10. ATL Despite Bravo's best efforts to give her a sympathetic edit, it only took Angela asking her a simple question, which demonstrated just how full of crap she is, for the real Brit to come out as she cussed out Angela for not 'reading the room' - Brit comes from the Mia Thornton School of Lying. WWHL was illuminating because it appears the only person Brit doesn't have an issue with, post filming, is Cynthia. Brit said the photos of her were taken when she was underage. Is that confirmed anywhere or just more BS flying out of her mouth?
  11. Early on they had Roman and Kate get stuck in an elevator together. Lots of those classic love/hate tropes over the years, culminating in them getting married (and Roman "dying"). Sheila would have been the natural choice when she poisoned Stephanie and got her in the mental ward...but they were out of each other's orbits a bit at that time.
  12. Throughout the Sami vs. Kate feud, once Josh Taylor as aboard as Roman, the writers would throw in scenes where Roman and Kate would flirt. Dating back to when Kate framed Sami for Franco's shooting, Roman was flirting with Kate while trying to figure out who really killed Franco. It's one of those odd through lines that the million HW regimes never totally dropped. Kate forging a bond with Sami was an interesting endgame and the writing was good because it hearkened back to Kate's origin story of being a mother fleeing an abusive relationship...except this time, Kate made sure Sami got to keep her children when she fled EJ, unlike what had happened to her with Curtis Brown. It's a total credit to Alison Sweeney and Lauren Koslow that they imbued this feud with so many layers that Kate and Sami could be vicious enemies, but then ally themselves, and then go back to hating each other.
  13. Absolutely. For years he was an albatross to the show as Brad Bell tried to shoehorn his character into the canvas wherever he could and it never worked.
  14. I think your observation is so well put. That is probably exactly why she was dropped. Bravo could not contain it, it leaked instantly, and the fallout was more than they were prepared to deal with. I still think Kenya could return next season. The wording around all this has been time specific. I don't like Brit at all. But I also still don't like Kenya. RHOBH Kyle continues to be a sanctimonious victim. She makes me sick. Jennifer Tilly's jewelry is fabulous. She has real taste. She buys and wear important pieces very well. Otherwise...yawn. I am just hoping they don't bring back LVP as a hail Mary so that I can drop this franchise.
  15. Yes, both are renewed through the 2027-2028 season. I am happy for the show, for the crew, the cast, and even Brad Bell. Though I think the show has an incredible amount of room for improvement and needs to move on from tired recycled storylines, I watch it sporadically and enjoy it for what it is.
  16. Production was too busy enabling Kyle to bother with a decent backdrop. I agree, it was so ugly.
  17. And therein lies the problem. Bravo is actively rewarding people like Kyle and Erika who act horrendously. So Rinna fits right in. I don't think it's any accident she's been making the podcast rounds lately talking about the show and how "the fans" ran her off of it.
  18. I always enjoyed the fact she was a close friend of Joan Rivers and gave a eulogy at her funeral. I believe she is one of the good guys. I wish her so well.
  19. I agree with you that Erika was the worst and the nastiest. The reason Kyle bothers me the most, however, is because she's the biggest hypocrite. She throws the rock and then hides her hand. That crap she pulled with Garcelle about the lesbian comment at Chuck E Cheese really irked me because it shows she's always looking for a way to be a victim. Erika is at least obvious about it, though she fails to realize she spent an entire season decorating a rental home. Dorit at least was engaging with Garcelle about specific comments. Garcelle knew what was coming the moment she sat down and remarked that Kyle didn't look at her. This was a planned take down. I can't with Sutton. Garcelle was ride or die for her! How could she not stand up for her and conceal her comments about Kyle's 'chess move' - talk about spineless! That's how I feel. I'm out of BH. Haven't watched RHONY consistently since the OG's were axed. That leaves OC, Miami and Salt Lake. I fully expect Rinna will be back.
  20. I completely agree. It was a struggle to get through the hour as Garcelle started to get targeted. Kyle was, as is the norm, the worst, followed closely by Erika, and then Boz. Bizarrely, I felt Dorit was the least bad, though that's not saying much. Andy also sucks and enables Kyle.
  21. Britt is awful. How dare she make me sympathize with Kenya, who I have never enjoyed. I don't think production is stupid. Rather, I think production wants the audience to turn on Britt to the point that Kenya can return. I found the edit for Kenya very sympathetic this season and while next week's antics likely put production in a place where they didn't feel they could keep her, I am not seeing anything anti-Kenya from production. What happened to Dawn's face. It looks like a mask. Magali and Ampika look exactly like when they left.
  22. I will always be supportive of Noel Maxam because of his many years with Y&R. He knows what good soap opera is. Janet had to have endured a lot through a tumultuous time and I hope she has a fabulous retirement.
  23. I am at the same point. The BH cast, aside from Garcelle, has burned itself out and the audience is subjected to either incredible negativity or non-storylines (ie boring). I agree. I am not watching a season where Sutton gets attacked and Kyle/Erika/Dorit/Boz act like arseholes.
  24. Boz blew it. Erika was her usual awful, bitter, nasty self. But Boz joined in unabashedly - she threw her entire season in the trash with that WWHL appearance. I echo comments about next season - will we want to watch given how crap this one was? I’ve already cut the chord with nuRHONY - BH could definitely be next.
  25. [!@#$%^&*]. You said it: that finale was terrible. It has always been the right time to fire Kyle ‘Never Open Nor Honest’ Richard’s. But now more than ever. Ditto Erika ‘Decorated Rental’ Girardi and Dorit ‘Foreclosure’ Kemsley. While Sutton can be totally insufferable but her house being on N Beverly Glen Blvd does not diminish that she lives in swank Bel Air - her house is a street over from Elizabeth Taylor’s house.
