  1. I have to wonder what Hunter Tylo did to warrant never returning.
  2. Completely agree. Teresa has no remorse whatsoever and is too stupid to be entertaining.
  3. RHONJ was a total flop and I remain firm that they need to fire the whole cast and either rest the show entirely or reboot it. Talk about a toxic dumpster fire.
  4. I would expect this kind of work would be a real lifeline for Guza given Meg's passing. He's a writer I'm ambivalent about because he's written some of my favourite GH (the mid to late 90s) and also why I don't watch GH anymore. Vivica has been my #1 pick for this show. Whether she'd do it I don't know...but she would be a name that daytime audiences would connect with. The one thing I remember about Julie Hanan Carruthers is that Susan Lucci said publicly that she was very kind and well liked by the AMC cast and crew. This EP position will surely be about setting up the day to day running of the show. She had little creative involvement in AMC and I expect that to be the same with The Gates.
  5. My eyes widened at this comparison and as I let out a cynical chuckle, I could only conclude I found it amusing because it's 100% true. I do get the impression that Bravo is looking at the RH franchise as becoming more trouble than it's worth. The downturn in ratings, rising salaries of the OG's (you'll note most have been axed a la Frons era ABC Daytime), and recent litigation spells an unsavory recipe for the future of the franchise as a whole.
  6. NJ Another absolute flop of an episode. Thank goodness the season finale is next week. The scene where Teresa thinks she's exposing Marge was just pathetic. She is such a doofus and so utterly stupid. "Guys, it'll blow your mind!" and then even the editors had to play around with the music and point out how flat her 'revelation' landed. The only memorable part of the episode was the funeral flower arrangement Margaret sent for memorializing Teresa and her slimy lawyer's dignity. This season is total and utter garbage. Time to fire all of them and reboot a la RHONY. OC On the other hand, this show has been awesome and every episode is firing on all cylinders. While the producers seem to have it in for Shannon and literally trying to break her, she is rocking each episode. Emily is also a hilarious addition. The comments she's made about Archie in the front seat "10 and 2 Shannon, 10 and 2!" were laugh out loud funny. Jenn is a loser in the classic Lynn Curtin mould. Gina was very high and mighty with her...but she did live in a casita and get herself together in a way that Jenn never will...so I can kind of understand her wrath. Katie is a great addition. Calm and young and has some family storylines brewing. Tamra remains an evil succubus. Heather remains rich.
  7. This is surely good news for DAYS. I loved the Brash and Cwickly era so welcome the return of Paula Cwickly. Jeanne Marie Ford has been associated with DAYS since 1992 so she has seen the good and the bad and likely knows the difference.
  8. I think it's a bad move on Halle Berry's part. She has been in desperate need of a commercially viable project to get her name and face back out there. She's been languishing in projects nobody has seen for years.
  9. This has been a very sad few days. RIP to Richard, Dr. Ruth, and to Shannen. Each one was an original who contributed something to popular culture that will never be duplicated.
  10. OC That was a fantastic premiere episode. The best they've had in many years and one of the best out of all franchises as well. It appears this season is going to be firing on all cylinders. Why? There is real drama.
  11. The lighting has a lot to do with it. DAYS' lighting is harsh and overhead while GH's is softer, so there's more reflection on his scalp. The other thing is the makeup/hair team. The GH makeup team keeps most of the cast's skin very matte, while I think on DAYS the actors do a lot themselves, and it's likely the GH team adds powder to Wally's scalp to make it appear thicker and conceal any scalp.
  12. The official B&B YouTube channel has been uploading seasons of the show for a couple of years now. Available for anyone to watch and free.
  13. I think the recent deal that's been struck over Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS, by Skydance Media and RedBird Capital, in which the controlling interest of Paramount Global controlled by Shari Redstone, daughter of the late Sumner Redstone, in being acquired by a consortium led by Skydance and RedBird, likely has a lot to do with hearing virtually nothing about anything at CBS. Executives are in a holding pattern. It is commonplace in major transactions for there to be no major changes in the operation of any business during negotiations over a purchase. We'll never know if programming was one of those issues that the purchasers did not want any changes on until the deal closed.
  14. NJ didn't air this weekend...though it's been such an awful season I've had a hard time investing time in it. Dubai has not grabbed me, just as it didn't grab me the last season, so I skip it altogether. I will be tuning in for OC which looks to be amazing - a real return to form.
  15. I will join the chorus when it comes to John Black - the guy has endured near endless abuse from several children, including some who weren't even his, but he relentlessly stepped up. His warmth and sense of humour have carried the character through. And of course, I have a very soft spot for Y&R's John Abbott. Clearly crafted in Bill Bell's own image, whether he realized it or not:
  16. Although there's no denying that Sonja can be a sloppy mess, I would take anything Jeff Lewis says with a major pinch of salt. In my opinion, when he dislikes someone, he goes after them relentlessly and is incredibly nasty. Sonja is just one of many people that he's openly disliked.
  17. Yes, it looks like she’s in the basement 2.5 months before Ridge’s Mercedes SUV does a little DIY on Morgan’s house. I can’t wait for that scene. Morgan is loathed on the YouTube channel - several viewers refer to her as ‘Pennywise’ - but I think it proves Sarah Buxton did her job. Morgan is a total psycho ex girlfriend.
  18. I posted in the How to Fix B&B thread that I'm watching the Morgan storyline on YouTube and although I've seen it before, I am hooked. The arrival of Dr. Tim is so good because it adds humour - when he and Morgan are making out and she accidentally pulls off his wig - and the two actors worked well together. I watch this storyline and it's never dull, even with Taylor locked in the basement for what feels like forever.
  19. Thank you, @JAS0N47 - I wonder what’s going on with her situation.
  20. Again? She lasted 6 months back on contract?
  21. I've been re-watching 2001 episodes as they're being uploaded on the B&B YouTube Channel and they're right in the middle of the Morgan DeWitt storyline. Having seen it before, I know where it's going, but I'm still hooked. What I noticed right away is: 1. The show had three storylines going, an A, B, and C storyline, and as one ends, the next ramps up. This is consistent and obvious in every single episode. These storylines stand on their own from each other, and then in certain episodes, characters will interact and bring some of storyline A into storyline B or C. 2. Sally Spectra was the Greek Chorus of the show. We've all known that Darlene Conley was an incredibly important part of the show and added humour, melodrama, glitz and style that nobody can touch. But the character of Sally was also a Greek Chorus. She weaves in and out of scenes, summarizing what's gone on, gets different character perspectives, and delivers what the audience is often thinking. The show needs that. 3. Brooke was being written as the second coming of Stephanie with how she despised Amber Moore and that would have been a good route for the character to mature as KKL herself aged. After 2003 or so, Brad veered off course and made Brooke hypersexualized which doesn't serve the same narrative function 20 years later where Brooke now feels a bit pointless and written into a corner. KKL is capable of the material and Brooke needs maturing. 4. The show was not all about romance. The characters had jobs, the fashion shows were a huge part of quarterly storytelling, they went out at night, they went out during the day. They had lunch. They went for coffee. LA felt much more real. 5. Ridge and Brooke function better apart. In 2001, Ridge is happily (?) married with Taylor and Brooke is happily married to Thorne. Both characters function well being in each other's orbits while not being romantically involved. 6. The scenes were much longer. This is a problem with every show, but given B&B is 30 minutes, it's noticeable how much they packed into each episode, whereas now 30 minutes feels like much of it is filler.
  22. Whew, that is a low guarantee they've got Lauren Koslow on. Must be 1 episode a week.
  23. I agree with you. I have never seen worse writing than Higley in 2003. It is memorable because it was so bad and so dull. I agree with you. Aside from the Virtual Eden, which was truly bizarre, I enjoyed much of the Tom Langan era and watched every single day.
  24. RHONJ is complete cringe and complete crap. It's gotten to the point that the show is like a game show that these women want to be on because they're so desperate for fame and money, rather than following women who already had either or both of those things, as the shows were originally conceived.
