B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
Yes, it looks like she’s in the basement 2.5 months before Ridge’s Mercedes SUV does a little DIY on Morgan’s house. I can’t wait for that scene. Morgan is loathed on the YouTube channel - several viewers refer to her as ‘Pennywise’ - but I think it proves Sarah Buxton did her job. Morgan is a total psycho ex girlfriend.

B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
I posted in the How to Fix B&B thread that I'm watching the Morgan storyline on YouTube and although I've seen it before, I am hooked. The arrival of Dr. Tim is so good because it adds humour - when he and Morgan are making out and she accidentally pulls off his wig - and the two actors worked well together. I watch this storyline and it's never dull, even with Taylor locked in the basement for what feels like forever.

B&B: How to fix the mess that the show has become?
I've been re-watching 2001 episodes as they're being uploaded on the B&B YouTube Channel and they're right in the middle of the Morgan DeWitt storyline. Having seen it before, I know where it's going, but I'm still hooked. What I noticed right away is: 1. The show had three storylines going, an A, B, and C storyline, and as one ends, the next ramps up. This is consistent and obvious in every single episode. These storylines stand on their own from each other, and then in certain episodes, characters will interact and bring some of storyline A into storyline B or C. 2. Sally Spectra was the Greek Chorus of the show. We've all known that Darlene Conley was an incredibly important part of the show and added humour, melodrama, glitz and style that nobody can touch. But the character of Sally was also a Greek Chorus. She weaves in and out of scenes, summarizing what's gone on, gets different character perspectives, and delivers what the audience is often thinking. The show needs that. 3. Brooke was being written as the second coming of Stephanie with how she despised Amber Moore and that would have been a good route for the character to mature as KKL herself aged. After 2003 or so, Brad veered off course and made Brooke hypersexualized which doesn't serve the same narrative function 20 years later where Brooke now feels a bit pointless and written into a corner. KKL is capable of the material and Brooke needs maturing. 4. The show was not all about romance. The characters had jobs, the fashion shows were a huge part of quarterly storytelling, they went out at night, they went out during the day. They had lunch. They went for coffee. LA felt much more real. 5. Ridge and Brooke function better apart. In 2001, Ridge is happily (?) married with Taylor and Brooke is happily married to Thorne. Both characters function well being in each other's orbits while not being romantically involved. 6. The scenes were much longer. This is a problem with every show, but given B&B is 30 minutes, it's noticeable how much they packed into each episode, whereas now 30 minutes feels like much of it is filler.

Whew, that is a low guarantee they've got Lauren Koslow on. Must be 1 episode a week.

DAYS: Who’s worse Higley or Carlivati
I agree with you. I have never seen worse writing than Higley in 2003. It is memorable because it was so bad and so dull. I agree with you. Aside from the Virtual Eden, which was truly bizarre, I enjoyed much of the Tom Langan era and watched every single day.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHONJ is complete cringe and complete crap. It's gotten to the point that the show is like a game show that these women want to be on because they're so desperate for fame and money, rather than following women who already had either or both of those things, as the shows were originally conceived.

B&B June 2024 Discussion Thread
B&B's official YouTube channel has posted the full length tribute to Ed and Melody Thomas Scott. It features extra footage not included in the Emmy's telecast. It verifies my suspicion that the Bells produced this, rather than the Emmys themselves, the background music is all signature Bell cues.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHONJ Teresa: that sit down at the end was another glimpse into the empty cavity that is Teresa Giudice's cranium. She claims she and Luis always want to be the bigger people? The delusion is intense. Her lack of logic is scary. Also, Luis just took out a $1 million mortgage on their house while she continues to owe $640,000 in unpaid taxes. Rachel: her husband was smart to just come out and say he dealt marijuana and that the person who supplied the information, his ex, is the one who is incarcerated for crystal meth. It shows how low Luis will go to gather information. Danielle: just what the world needs, another vulgar children's clothing line with absolutely zero taste, likely manufactured in a third world sweatshop by children the same age as those intended to wear such fashions... Delores: her 'fight' with Paul seemed totally made up. Melissa: she and Joe are clinging to their daughter's going to college. Nothing else is going on. Margaret: she has done exactly nothing all season. Jenn Aydin and Jenn Fessler: they had a lunch. It was a non-event. Jackie: so thirsty for camera time. This franchise is so dead. They need to fire everyone and start again.

2024 Daytime Emmys Live Discussion Thread
Absolutely. The Daytime Emmys can serve as a promotional event for each of the soaps as much as anything else...so it boggles me that each of the soaps didn't insist on having a clip package played throughout the night for Best Drama Series...I really miss the good old days when the show featured clip packages around various themes (couples, fashion, catfights) - they really add to the production quality of the show.

2024 Daytime Emmys Live Discussion Thread
I watched it. Yawn. An absolute snooze aside from the MTS and Ed Scott Lifetime Achievement Award, which I really enjoyed, and the clip package was lovingly done and clearly by someone not affiliated with NATAS. There's no production value, no stakes, and no fans present, which sucks all the air out of the room.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Bel-Air used to be where the old money lived. But now, there is no true old money in LA. All of the prominent families like the Annenbergs and the Chandlers have faded, from prominence, despite their fortunes remaining intact. The grande dames like Betsy Bloomingdale have passed away and no one replaced them because LA has become a soulless company town. Most of the mansions in Bel-Air are built with foreign money and sit empty for much of the year. And any truly respectable and well to do Los Angeleno wouldn't be caught dead on reality TV. This looks like a GREAT season!

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
THIS. My goodness she was annoying AF in the premiere of this new season, hobbling around in ridiculous dresses and shoes. I'm not sure it's Bravo having no faith in Dubai, but more so that Bravo didn't plan their schedule well, so Tuesday is now vacant after this evening as both Vanderpump Rules and The Valley are finished their respective seasons.

I love the show and devoured this latest season. Look forward to season 4. Very much enjoyed the cameo from Deidre Hall.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
The reunions are bonus pay - it hurt the RHONY women like Sonja a lot when the reunion didn’t happen. Ramona said it cost Sonja $250,000 that she very much could have used while she, Lu, and Dorinda, didn’t really care (typical Ramona!)

Jennifer Lopez cancels tour
Jennifer Lopez has sustained a career that her peers have not. She is a workhorse. However, her latest album is an unmitigated flop. It didn't crack the top 20 and very nearly didn't crack the top 40. She is overexposed and the media has turned on her. She can do nothing right. She and her management have made a wise decision to retreat. I expect she will disappear for the foreseeable future. Whether there will be a marital issue down the road remains to be seen.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Plus, they are historically some of the best rated episodes of each season and from a production standpoint are major bang for the buck given they get 3 episodes out of 1 days work. Absolutely - fire all of them. If Bravo wants to put Teresa into a spinoff, they can do so, but I suspect they know that Teresa on her own, without cast members creating conflict with her, will be like watching paint dry. This cast has imploded in a way that even the RHONY women did not.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Yes. I really struggled to type on my phone the other day about Sonja's townhouse. The pop-ups have gotten worse. People Magazine is confirming there will not be a "traditional reunion," but hints that Bravo is trying to figure out an alternative: https://people.com/the-real-housewives-of-new-jersey-season-14-reunion-canceled-exclusive-8655924 It's time to reboot and fire the entire cast. If Bravo wants to give Teresa a spinoff, so be it, but the franchise itself needs a hard reboot.
