  1. The following week (November 24-28, 1980) was Holly departure. A recap of that week is here
  2. With this week being a short week, this thread could be less than 50 pages.
  3. Phylicia Rashad. The Cosby Show made her the most iconic sitcom mother of the 1980s. Her only regular series on a broadcast network after The Cosby Show was Bill Cosby's CBS series Cosby. She had short arcs on Empire and This Is Us. In the 2000s a good number of 1980s primetime soap actors showed up on daytime. Does guest starring on Murder, She Wrote count?
  4. I still can't figure out how a musical theater actor was cast in such a pivotal role and not a Friend of Jill or even a soap name. I think the friend Jill wanted was either not available or not interested, thus those in charge of casting going the new to daytime route.
  5. Andre/Dani, be still my heart 🥰 I knew their booty call hook ups then being friends with benefits were so going to turn into love 😍
  6. Sean Freeman today 😍 Could Hayley enter nasty ho territory like Vanessa? Hayley gives off ho in the street trying to be a lady in the street energy.
  7. Oh yes 😍 Sean Freeman has been working out. He was already the hotness of BtG and he's gotten hotter 🤤
  8. Danny/Cricket 1990 wedding was shown during the classics.
  9. EB is 84 and has dealt with health issues in recent years. He is going to be on the show as long as he is physically and mentally capable of doing so.
  10. Any news about repeats during Thanksgiving?
  11. Any news about classics during Thanksgiving?
  12. Hahaha, dead! I still remember when Nikki told Claire she was a dancer at a club. I'm like, girl please, you climbed the pole.
  13. 1996 it looked like Guiding Light was going to be cancelled and B&B would be expanded to 1 hr. Bill Bell Jr. and Maria Arena Bell had a soap bible Coming of Age that they attempted to sell to NBC in the early 1990s so maybe that could have been a new 1/2 hr show. Remember too 1997 was the height of time slot rival Reilly Days so CBS would not want the new 1/2 hr show head-to-head w/ Reilly Days. If 1997 we got expanded B&B and new Bell show, I think the Eastern time soap schedule would have been 12:30 pm Y&R 1:30 pm B&B 2:30 pm new Bell show 3 pm As the World Turns
  14. 1995 and 1996 the cast seemed bloated, probably in anticipation for expansion to 1 hr. 1997 there was a cast purge since the expansion didn't happen.
  15. CBS primetime was a mess from the decline of Dallas in 1987 until the start of CSI in 2000. That was 13 years, yikes.
  16. Hahaha! The original four (Janice Lynde, Jaime Lyn Bauer, Trish Stewart, Pamela Peters), yes.
  17. I don't want to think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving.
  18. I'm thinking it will all come together during Winterfest and Silk Press Sheila will be exposed then.
  19. Suzanne Rogers was 30 in 1973 and Peggy Brooks was introduced as a teen in high school, so I don't think that would have worked.
  20. This sounds familiar. Thanks @Broderick
  21. When Nicollette Sheridan was elevated to the main cast in season 10, Paige practically ate the show for the remainder of its run. Greg/Paige had the ick factors of Paige being the daughter of Greg's frenemy Mack and at one point Greg was believed to have been Paige's father. It's funny that Greg/Paige was at the same time as JR/Cally on Dallas. Both pairings were equally icky.
  22. Season 1 was a slow start but the main reason to watch it is that it builds the foundation of the character relationships. Season 2 was the only season that worked for me from a writing and acting standpoint. It's too bad that the quality of season 2 could not be maintained for the rest of the series. ABC soap fans that were spoiled by the best of Agnes Nixon probably knew they couldn't hold Dynasty writers to the same standard.
