@asafi Are you currently watching or did you watch in the past (original broadcast, reruns, streaming)? Falcon Crest got spared the chopping block so many times because CBS primetime had bigger things to worry about.

Hahaha, for sure. Even this decade CBS was called out for its lack of diversity.

@Chris B Going by the ratings, March 1985 there's a decline. There's also another decline March 1986.

I grew up watching TPiR and I knew about some of the backstage drama at TPiR but not all of it. Their drama makes Y&R backstage drama look tame in comparison. I got the impression from Kathleen Bradley comments that when she was hired the show was specifically looking for an African-American model more so than they were looking for a fourth model. It was also pointed out that around the time of Kathleen's hiring, CBS was getting a lot of flack for their lack of diversity ("Caucasian Broadcasting System"). Of note in that same time frame Y&R expanded their African-American cast.

I won't be missing Y&R during the March Madness break.

Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.

Yes it would be. Any 1979 and 1980 episodes of Roger/Holly storylines that surface are a must watch. The marital rape until Roger's fall off the cliff in Santo Domingo set in motion so much of what we saw a decade later when Roger/Holly returned to the show.

I've accepted that we'll probably never see any GL prior to 1979. I would love to see Roger/Holly storylines from MG first episode in 1976 until MZ departure in 1980.

In 1994 Nicolas Coster was on As the World Turns and Jed Allan was on 90210 so the timing was off. I think JFP wanted to cast either Roscoe Born or Lane Davies as Alan but I suspect they were either not interested or not available.

Lets not forget July 16, 1993 is MZ Emmy winning episode.

Agree, Silk Press Sheila is bordering on one-dimensional and played out. We all know the shelf life of a soap opera villainess isn't that long. Trisha Mann-Grant is a find though, and she should move on to bigger and better things after finishing her initial contract.
