  1. @Soapsuds That ad is for the episodes of February 1, 1980.
  2. September 1992-January 1993 wasn't bad but the big cast departures of the summer (Kimberley Simms, Sherry Stringfield, Beverlee McKinsey) left a noticeable void in the canvas. Then of course came Maureen Bauer death and GL was never the same after that. Aftermath of Maureen death until Nancy Curlee left the writing team was a chore to watch, but at least we got to see Michael Zaslow finally get his long-awaited for Lead Actor Daytime Emmy.
  3. Shanice is a nurse. She knows all kinds of nasty stuff is on worn undergarments.
  4. Roger visiting Maureen's grave was one of MZ's most memorable scenes from his 1989-1997 run. I thought that scene should have been on his Emmy reel.
  5. You're welcome. Yeah, 1997/98 was pretty bad as well. The final five seasons of the 1990s (1995/96 to 1999/2000) were on the whole not very good.
  6. I posted this article about 1995/96 earlier. I've quoted it this time in case the link has a paywall. Who Lives and Who Dies on TV - The New York Times
  7. Probably not. I could be nice and say Hayley dresses like a video vixen, but I still think she dresses like a ho in the street trying to be a lady in the street.
  8. @soapfan770 Thanks for posting 1996 Super Bowl week. 1995/96 not a very good season. ER reaches #1 and Friends blows up. The rest of the broadcast network primetime lineups that weren't NBC Thursday, not looking so good.
  9. 30 years ago this month. That Time Murder, She Wrote Took A Swing at Friends The Time 'Murder, She Wrote' Had Serious Beef With 'Friends' | Cracked.com When 'Friends' Killed Off 'Murder, She Wrote' “I mean, who would have thought a group of twenty-something young people sitting around all day long discussing their sexuality would turn out to be a top TV show?” Angela Lansbury and her shade, I love it. Remember that a decade earlier she shaded the new hotness Miami Vice by calling it Miami Heat.
  10. Derek and Tomas are the weak links of the male cast. Phase them out and elevate Kial and Grayson.
  11. 30 years ago. The peak of Friends. January 28, 1996, "The One After the Super Bowl", rating 29.6. Series high until the series finale. February 1, 1996, "The One with the Prom Video", rating 21.7; and February 8, 1996, "The One Where Ross and Rachel...You Know", rating 21.7. Highest-rated regular episodes in their original broadcast.
  12. Summer 1994 Frat Party. Fall 1994 to Spring 1996 Nick/Sharon eat the show. Fall 1996 through first half of 1997 lull in the storylines. The only bright spot for me was Who Shot Victor.
  13. When factoring in ratings, critical acclaim, place in television history and pop culture, and influence on other dramas, I'd say the definitive dramas of the 1990s were ER, NYPD Blue, 90210, and Melrose.
  14. Noah hasn't worked as a character since the 2008 SORAS. He should have just aged normally.
  15. I'm so ready for February sweeps and the first anniversary. BtG has so much momentum right now, hopefully it will continue to be hot fire.
  16. The Boondocks told us that in 2010.
  17. Thanks for the info. I haven't seen the 1989/90 episodes of Dallas in a long time. That season was a waste of time anyway, but that's neither here nor there for this thread.
  18. Dallas didn't take a dark turn in 1989/90. Remember too that CBS was a mess in primetime that season.
  19. @Speed Racer @GL95 Trying to figure out real ages vs. SORAS can hurt one's head, but I'm trying anyway ☺️ Phillip was introduced in 1977 as a child and graduated high school in 1983. He was classmates with Rick, who was born on screen in 1970. Based on that, Phillip real birth year would be 1970 but he was aged 5 years, as was Rick. Alan-Michael was born on screen in 1981 and returned in 1987 as a teen. IIRC Alan-Michael turned 18 in 1989 so he was aged 10 years.
  20. That lead to Holly not reacting at all when she witnessed Roger slapping Blake.
  21. Corrected that for you 😊 For all we know, maybe someone at CBS liked Penny Peyser. Remember she was in the main cast of Crazy Like a Fox and the miniseries The Blue and the Gray.
  22. Y&R best eras to me were 1984-first half 1986, 1990-first half 1994, second half 1997-end 1998.
  23. Hahaha. Once again BtG letting us all know its not grandma's stories from 1986.
