It’s a disaster for the show, which has had the death rattle for a while now. It didn’t help that they overscored his freestyle. Evanna/Keo, Milo/Witney, and Alexis/Alan all looked shellshocked. Literally anyone across the entire season (save Grocery Store Joe) would have been a better winner.

Worst champions ever. Cancel this wreck of a show.

Ha yes. I posted that upthread. It’s very funny how their careers have paralleled in many ways. In any case, I can’t be that upset after the year Novak has had. 2 Slams back-to-back to tie Sampras, 2 fast-court (!) M1000s and finishing the Golden Career Masters by winning that elusive Cincinnati title, showing he can dominate on ANY surface. Year-end No. 1 (after falling out of the top 20) with little to defend for MONTHS in 2019. Most top 10 wins on tour. Considering he started the year losing to the likes of Taro Daniel, wanting more than he’s already achieved seems greedy. It’s always preferable when people are *surprised* and digging for explanations when you lose. That said, Tsitsipas, Khachanov, Zverev, Coric, Medvedev, and De Minaur make me excited because I enjoy watching the game and not just my favorite player(s). (Hopefully, Chung and Tiafoe get it together and FAA continues to develop. The ATP needs POC and more geographic diversity at the top.) They are much more exciting than the Dimitrov/Nishikori/Raonic generation who almost always got in their own way.

Too good from Sascha today so far. I’m sure that RR match he lost provided great feedback for him and Lendl to consider going into the final. Look out if they can build upon this in the offseason. Five-set matches will be the biggest test.

I think Bravo is ambivalent towards its Af-Am shows because, despite their popularity, they feel off-brand to them. They don’t attract much of the “upscale” (read: white urban female) demo they can easily sell to advertisers (it used to be their sweet spot with Project Runway and Top Chef getting big money viewership), and I’m sure they are pissed that all their big scripted series with white female leads have tanked. RHOA managed to become a “crossover” show for them.

Wow. Certainly much juicier than any of the RH reunion dramas in recent memory (at least on the shows I watch).

Novak’s form right now is magnificent. Telling that both finalists came from the Kuerten group. The Hewitt guys barely showed up.
