Totally a sitcom. I can’t with Billy’s “Man in the Mirror” speech.

It’s certainly a risk, as the Gossip Girl revival has shown. The Gale Harold stans aren’t happy that this isn’t a continuation. (But even the new L Word got pilloried with most of the original cast back.)

I don’t really mind it. The reality is that there’s just too much content out there for people to wade through without a recognizable title attached. This show sounds loosely like QAF, in that it’s about a group of friends, but that’s about it. I love the diversity and the New Orleans setting. I just hope it doesn’t get bogged down in black/brown/trans trauma and remembers to be fun and sexy.

GT would be a great addition to any soap. Although I shudder at some of the cartoonish Grand Guignol faces we might see in an emotional scene between her and Maura.

And I don’t think he seemed *that* odd next to AH, but we didn’t have any lovey-dovey stuff yet. It’s overkill for someone who hasn’t done anything that horrible. Maybe this is a long play to get viewers to root for Sally—have her horribly mistreated before her inevitable triumph—but it’s not fun to watch, and this is the namesake of Darlene Conley’s Sally Spectra, who could read a bitch for filth! It’s kinda degrading.

I actually think she’d look great with Drew/CM, but that would never happen. (Prove me wrong, GH.)

I agree. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was matched with someone disposable like, say, T.J.

Don’t miss HT at all. KA’s been very solid. She’s not as elegant as vintage Taylor, but she’s empathetic and very watchable. HT hasn’t been recognizable as Taylor in years. It helps that Thorsten is playing Ridge instead of Ronn Moss, so I can accept them on their own terms.

Steffy has a smart mouth. I hope Sheila gets her good eventually. (JMW plays her so, so well, though.)

And of course, Billy’s being a pissy little bitch to Sally.

Robert Newman is already 3,000 times better than RB, and I’m only 15 minutes in. Burgi was so wooden, as if he were reading his lines. RN makes the stodgy dialogue come alive.

She’s WONDERFUL. And, yes, scary with those big old bulging eyes.

Indeed. Maurice needs to only match his more committed partners. LW and CW blow him off the screen.

I hate to be that guy who compares sh!t to Shakespeare, but I was watching old episodes of AW and those amazing fights between Vicky Wyndham and Doug Watson (both explosive arguments and more passive-aggressive encounters). Everything is disappointing after that. LW is definitely carrying these Sonny/Carly scenes. MB can be great, but he often lets his scene partners down.

Ugh. That is bad, if true. Instead of immediately putting this story out of its misery, they’re prolonging it and bending themselves into pretzels to get out of it. Rewrites and retcons galore. What a waste of time for all characters involved.
