I actually wish it was ANYONE instead of you-know-who. But, Craig's just out of the closet, so I guess he's entitled to make some mistakes. Still, that's a pretty big mistake to make. Any chance it's someone else wearing a Leo mask? (Wait, what sane person would want to wear a Leo mask?)

If they had simply given her a character to play. Not a bunch of plot points to tick off people's sheets, but an actual, three-dimensional character. Who WAS Dianne Kirkwood (beyond being a talk show producer, irritant to Karen and stalking suspect)? Where did she come from? How did she get to where she was? Did she have any family, close friends, mortal enemies? What made her vulnerable (if she WAS vulnerable)? What secrets did she keep? What did she want out of life? What was stopping her from achieving her goals? WHO WAS SHE?? Earl and Judy Trent were clearly designed (some might say, ripped off from "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?") to create conflict for Gary and Val; yet, I feel like I learned more about those two than I ever did about Dianne! I remember Lynn Marie Latham telling (I think) Lisa Rinna and Ty Treadway on "Soap Talk" that she always worked from story projections, but I think that was bogus. I don't think her OR her husband ever thought far ahead. And if they DID need Jeff, they could've done a lot better casting him. (Chris Lemmon? Are you [!@#$%^&*] kidding me?) That's another issue that I have with the Lechowicks - not just on KL, but on all their shows, including when LML worked on Y&R. The way they cast many of their roles were for the absolute birds.

Let's be honest: DAYS isn't a soap opera anymore. It's just Ron Carlivati sharing his masturbatory fantasies with the rest of the world. (Of course, if I were in Ron's shoes, I would insist on a bigger budget. )

I keep hoping (against hope?) that this "Sarenee" mess will lead to something, like the real Renee coming back (even though that would be like pissing on Philece Sampler's still-fresh grave) or Sarah uncovering a long-held secret of Renee's that impacts many lives down the road. Although Renee still could be deceased today, maybe she didn't actually die by Andre's hand, but lived long enough to give birth to her and Tony's baby; and maybe that baby grew up to be someone who lives in Salem today. Or maybe he/she is Renee and ANDRE's baby, and we learn that Andre, perhaps still posing as Tony, raped or seduced her eons ago and fathered a child with her that, again, lives in Salem today. I mean, it could be anything, just as long as it's something!

More and more, I wish the show had gone with my choice*: Cady McClain. As good as CM was as temp Jennifer - so good, in fact, she did what MR still can't and won the Emmy! - Sarah would have been a perfectly blank slate for her, like @AbcNbc247 said, with no baggage. (*Well, one of my choices. There were so many.) Again, I'm just waiting for Sarenee (god, I love that name) to gather everyone at HTR and announce that "RENEE DIMERA IS ALIVE!!". Nah, I think MA would have been too young, too. On the other hand, if Josh and Jessica had had a daughter (either before or after they had Nick)....

At the very least, we could use the ghost of Y&R's Kay Chancellor/Jeanne Cooper telling "SaRenee" to "cut the crap." Bingo.

True, lol. No, I'm talking about all those times when we said, "Wouldn't it be great if [enter actress' name here] joined DAYS as Sarah Horton?". Like, all those years we kept waiting for DAYS to bring Sarah back from Nashville, and now we've got this crap. Again, be careful what you wish for. Be VERY careful.
