  1. Yes, we have, lol. Same here. I don't have a dog in this fight - although, if I could, I, too, would vote for Jasmine Crockett. I just find it galling how CBS thought it could strongarm Colbert like that and not expect some sort of pushback.
  2. That would mean he has a brain and a personality.
  3. Perhaps it's because I'm such a fan of hers, but I think JE is an intelligent person who would do very well as an EP for a soap.
  4. At this point, they might as well hang a sign around his neck that says, "I'M NOT REALLY NATHAN." That would be much more subtle than what they're doing.
  5. I just don't have time for anyone who denigrates the genre. I know soaps ain't what they used to be, but I still regard them as a uniquely American institution that, if done right, could go a long way toward educating the public about a great many things. Besides, Shakespeare wasn't considered high-brow in his day either, lol.
  6. Aww, that is sad, @Vee . Tom Noonan was a terrific actor. So creepy - and yet, so compelling. He always had a way of standing out, no matter how small the role or the project. He was one actor I wish had done a brief turn as some villain on a soap, like GH. Bob Guza would've had a ball writing for him. FYI: His brother, playwright John Ford Noonan, who won an Emmy for writing an episode of "St. Elsewhere," and who played the tow truck driver in "Adventures in Babysitting, passed away several years ago. So much talent between those two siblings, it was astounding. Damn. Death sucks hard.
  7. IDK why she's so nervous about taking her driving test for the fourth time. She's Lucy Ewing. All she needs to do is to sleep with the driving inspector and she'll have that license in no time.
  8. I agree. I also think GH was facing the same problem DAYS would face not too much later: specifically, the fact that the action/adventure formula which had propelled the show to the top of the ratings was becoming tired.
  9. IKR? FB is always posting "in memoriam" posts of celebrities who are still alive and well. Tell me that's not gonna create issues very soon, lol.
  10. Good for him! I mean, what could CBS do to him at this point? They've already fired him, lol! And even if no other network will hire him after this, he's probably got enough cash in the bank to rest comfortably for years to come.
  11. Well, I certainly hope Noel Maxam is able to pull these aimless stories together. DAYS is suffering from the same problem as BTG: there's nothing there that I would call a potboiler storyline (although, TBF, BTG is still more entertaining on a daily basis).
  12. I don't know whether A.J. Russell had been responsible for what became the Ice Princess storyline, but I know he had written for "The Honeymooners" and "The Phil Silvers Show" BITD, winning an Emmy for the latter. In fact, both he and Robert J. Shaw, who also had been part of the GH writing staff at one time, wrote for many early television anthology shows.
  13. Watching that clip, and thinking about how DH and SR's off-screen relationship has deteriorated to this point, it just makes me wish it were Gloria Loring and Patty Weaver sharing camera time with SSH rather than those other two.
  14. ICAM. In many ways, social media is no better than the graffiti you'd find on any public restroom wall. But it's also the best weapon we've had in terms of documenting the level of hatred that keeps coming from the right.
  15. No way would that happen in this current political climate. Frank would be worried about the Facebook Karens thinking Tommy Jr was "too threatening" and he'd want to emasculate him by putting him in a dress or some [!@#$%^&*].
  16. I'm particularly curious to know why Deidre decided to acknowledge Suzanne's presence when Maggie said, "Well, as a former restaurateur myself...." Was Deidre supposed to speak first? Did Suzanne ad-lib that part of her line? Did she lean too far into Deidre's eyeline? What is it, Terry, what's wrong? (Sorry, all that talk of Laurelton in the GH Classic thread had me slipping into Bobbie Spencer for a moment).
  17. IKR, lol? But, at least the Asian Quarter saga happened in Port Charles. Laurelton, OTOH, was about [!@#$%^&*] that happened off-screen years ago, in a town that I don't think GH fans had ever seen or heard before; and it was centered largely around characters they either didn't know (Jennifer Talbot, Earl Moody, the brothers O'Connor) or didn't actually care about (Terry, despite having been on the show for awhile and being connected to Bobbie and the brownstone). About the only GOOD thing to come out of that story (which I still believe was another one of JER's cockamamie ideas, until I learn otherwise) was Lucy. Otherwise, between that and GL struggling, it's no surprise that me and Mama Khan began watching SaBa more.
  18. I don't know. An AI-generated revival of AMC couldn't be any worse than what Chuck Pratt forced on us.
  19. That's what I had suspected. Not only was the Laurelton saga an absolute chore to watch, it also caused GH's ratings to falter after years of being on top. TPTB really should've killed the story first chance they got.
  20. And IA with all y'all, lol. I think SR attempts to put aside her differences with DH in scenes together. Take it from me, though: it's difficult to do your job well when you're mere feet away from a colleague who is openly hostile towards you. The thing is, DH has been extremely valuable to DAYS' success over the years, so she knows she can be as unprofessional as she wants. Because, what are TPTB gonna do? Fire her? They tried that once - for budgetary reasons - and it didn't take. They're not gonna do it again. Like I said, I feel bad for SSH and any other castmate who has to share scenes with them. It places enormous burdens on them, and that just isn't fair.
  21. TBF, I don't think Bea Arthur and Betty White had had a falling-out. They just had very different personalities. (It also helped that they had a mutual friend in Rue McClanahan). OTOH, it's clear that there's bad blood between Deidre and Suzanne and that Deidre is the one who's allowing that to affect her interactions with her castmate on screen. All I can say is, poor SSH for having to carry those scenes at a time when she's still grieving her husband's passing.
  22. They could've been staged like the Supremes on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and it still would've been hella awkward.
