  1. That Victoria Rowell interview is many many years old. She hasn't spoken about that stuff for a very long time. That tiktok channel posts anything to attract viewers. VR doesn't look like that anymore. VR has a successful career producing her own films and series and stars in some of them. FURTHERMORE. She appeared on Y&R 3 years ago in the tribute show to Kristoff St. John. It was a regular episode (i.e. airing on regular channels in regular timeslot) but the actors appeared as themselves and not as their characters. When Y&R ran old Winters family episodes during the summer 2020 pandemic reruns, VR tweeted in promotion. AND just last year, she recurred in the CBS primetime series "Good Sam". She would probably still be appearing in it, but the series was cancelled. Ms. Rowell's main goal/hope was that the network would hire POC in management. She long ago stopped talking about herself personally and changed her focus to the bigger picture of transforming the system. Obviously she made her peace with CBS or she wouldn't have done the appearances I just mentioned.
  2. FYI, the previous issue of SOD said Chandler was done with this arc, as Will had left town to work on a movie. The new issue of SOD says whoops, he actually appears a few more times before the end of this arc. (I know this isn't a spoiler thread. I just wanted to clarify that one thing.)
  3. For an *uplifting* video of Tyre Nichols: Here he is skateboarding - a true artist. His mother stated "we want to build a memorial skate park for Tyre, in honor of his love for skating and sunsets. ❤️ " The original youtube from 2010:
  4. Jamey is a breakdown writer for Days, not a scriptwriter. He usually does one breakdown a week. He tweeted that he did today (Feb 3) Today (Feb 3) episode's script was written by Carolyn Culliton Edit, I see that was just posted above.
  5. FYI, it's been only two Salem days since Marlena died. Each Salem day has aired over almost a week of episodes.
  6. In reply to several posts asking where Shawn is ... Remember Claire had some mental health issues several years ago. Later on, Claire moved to South Africa to try a new life, hanging out with Theo Carver and JJ Deveraux who had already moved there. Belle and Shawn went to South Africa to visit Claire for the Christmas 2022 holidays. Belle returned to Salem alone, in the Jan. 19 episode when word came that Marlena was critically ill. She arrived in a hurry on the Titan jet. Quoting Belle from Jan. 19 episode: Well, Shawn asked Victor to send the Titan jet. I’m sure he’ll be cranky as hell when I try to thank him for it, but it was very sweet nonetheless. How's Claire? Oh, she’s good. She’s okay. She, uh, she sends her love, she knows about, uh, Kayla and Kate, so Shawn and I thought it would be best if she stayed in Johannesburg in case she needs some extra therapy sessions. And Shawn sends his love too. But he wanted to stay with her. We don't want her to have any setbacks. -------- (Sad dialog filmed before John Aniston died, so Belle will never get a chance to thank Victor onscreen.)
  7. I think Ashley might live in Paris? I believe that's the construct the show uses because Eileen doesn't want to work full time.
  8. Griffth pushing the disgusting codependent rapemance. Gross.
  9. This one is Elena/Nate/Victoria ... I think Nate tries to remain faithful to Elena but someone (Audra or Tucker) tries to push Nate toward Victoria. Fyi ... in the Fri Feb 3 US (Thurs Feb 2 CDN) Victoria kisses Nate and he seems into it but then she pulls herself away and the scene ends. To be continued in a future episode.
  10. Oh! DH epi # as in .... on each specific date you noted, if Deidre appeared that day, where we are in the all-time number of Deidre Hall's episodes so far. Yes that makes sense. @JAS0N47 is noting on the "Days behind the scenes" thread her final 25 episodes leading up to her 5,000th. As in ... 1-24-23 was Deidre's Epi #4978. Got it.
  11. I edited my above post to clarify. What I meant was that you noted some numbers ... they might mean something different than Jason's numbers. -- a reference to something I'm not familiar with. I'm sure productions have all sorts of reference codes for various things I know nothing about. There are always more details for me to learn and I was genuinely curious.
  12. What do those epi numbers mean? They're not the show's numbers. Just an fyi, the actual episode numbers are here: 2022 https://www.jason47.com/days/episodeguide2022.html 2023 https://www.jason47.com/days/episodeguide2023.html
  13. Please don't tell me how I should act. I have the opinion that slut-shaming isn't okay in real life or in fiction. You may have a different opinion, but that's mine.
  14. Well I shouldn't have said "excuse me" because it made it sound like I was *personally* offended and I wasn't. But, in general, I don't like slut-shaming.
  15. Excuse me? Yes of course it's stupid they never explain who is watching the children. But Allie is not a selfish drunken ho. Allie didn't have sex with Alex. They were too drunk to drive so they walked to Allie's apartment and slept in separate areas (Alex slept in an office alcove off of Allie's room). He was too hung over to find his undies in the morning and said so, and Allie didn't hide any of that from Wendy or Chanel. And even if Allie had sex with anyone, it doesn't make her a ho. Geesh.
  16. (DAYS) . Jan. 2023 we saw Stacy Haiduk on a set supposedly in Heaven as "Susan". Early Feb. 2023: we will see Chrishell Stause in a set supposedly in Purgatory as "Jordan", and Judi Evans in a set supposedly in Heaven as "Adrienne". But perhaps neither location is real. Monday, February 6, 2023: spoiler So "Susan", "Jordan", and "Adrienne" might not be who they seem to be. Maybe their character names will change in the credits after whatever is revealed. OR maybe they are themselves - but the locations are fake. Who knows with this nonsense. Sorry, I didn't mean to derail this SoapHoppers thread with discussion. Just suggesting that character names may or may not be changed in the future.
  17. I am an elderly person. I have spent my life learning about ACTUAL history (which is often very different than what I learned in school) - about all forms of bigotry and oppression, and about cultural history and about human rights. But despite that, there is of course a tremendous amount of history about which I am completely ignorant and unaware. As I said in my post above, "the American policing system that was created hundreds of years ago by slaveholders who hired a force to hunt human beings trying to escape/rebel from being forced into slavery." But I didn't know that fact until the national discussion happened after Mr. Floyd was murdered. I should have known, but I didn't know.
  18. I completely agree with everything you said. I posted the links only because it's being discussed and it's better to decide for oneself what to do, instead of jumping into some random newssite that sensationalizes it further. I'm going to ramble on here, sort of continuing with the points you already made. The video was posted on the City of Memphis site as a transparency thing so that it wouldn't be swept under the rug and so the public would know what really happened. I look at this as evidence that the crime really did happen and nobody can pretend that it didn't. But... I don't want to watch rape videos, or murder videos, or genocide videos, war videos, or ANY videos of crimes against the humanity of the victims. When someone commits any other type of horrific murder, we don't watch the footage on TV news or online news shows. That's the type of footage that's played only in a closed room to a jury during the murder trial. I agree with your point that when it's sensationalized and put in the news, it becomes just another snuff video. That's a horrific statement that the public is watching a snuff video, but you're right, that's what it is when it's overplayed. WE SHOULD NOT NEED TO SEE THIS. Normally such video evidence of a murder is kept private and shown only for the trial of the murderers. But police abuse is covered up so much that maybe the Chief of Police decided that the only way to instigate changes in the system was to have transparency about the horror? I get that but ... And we should NOT be expected to watch this. As an informed citizen I don't need to and refuse to, watch such things. I made the personal choice to read the detailed text description of what happened, so that I would know the facts, but there should not be expectations place on anyone what they should watch/read. Maybe it's enough to hear a short sentence that gives the basics without graphic details. In various places in the world, there have been crimes against humanity, that have memorials as reminders, so as to prevent such things from ever happening again. I understand that concept. But posting this footage on the police department website as a "never again" idea ... that seems like a bad idea. As you said in your post, it quickly devolves into a black-on-black violence snuff video. I don't know what the Chief of Police was thinking, but I guess she is sick of all of this and wants real change. I mean she said in her statement that she *EXPECTS* protests and demands for changes to the system. I got the sense that she wants the entire idea of policing to change. I don't know her or anything about her, and I'm forming an opinion based on only her video statement, but that was the sense I got. As you said in your post regarding the current system... "the training itself promotes the dehumanizing of black people who are stopped by the police". This is the result of the American policing system that was created hundreds of years ago by slaveholders who hired a force to hunt human beings trying to escape/rebel from being forced into slavery. THAT is the cause of ALL of this, the racism/dehumanizing that created the police system to begin with. That's what needs to change, as you were pointing out. I don't know how watching this video will change all that. Ideally this would provoke a national discussion on the need to change the system. The murder of Mr. George Floyd started the discussion --EDIT-- I mean the murders of countless human beings have started the conversation long ago in the Black community, but Mr. Floyd's murder got more of the country discussing it. But then the news cycle stopped talking about it, and went on to whatever topic the news wanted to sensationalize next. Some cities began discussing police reform, or disbanding the police and creating a new department of public safety or whatever. But not much changed. Now it's a "topic of discussion" again. Obviously more is needed than the discussion! Actual change needs to happen in how cities address public safety and how the safety officers are trained.
  19. I've seen very few Locher interviews. But I've seen him critiqued here so much that I almost didn't watch the Tracey Bregman one. I'm so glad I did watch! I wonder if it helped that she'd been interviewed by a lot of people all week -- If Alan watched those interviews, he might have got some idea of things to ask. I remember reading here a couple of years ago how Locher interrupted the people he was interviewing. He interviewed Eileen Davidson back then, and I watched, and yes he tried to interrupt. But .... he would start to interrupt but Eileen just kept talking and steering the interview herself, it was great! She would NOT be talked over. So this week when Locher interviewed Tracey Bregman, I was expecting him to interrupt, but he didn't do that, he really let her talk, and I appreciated that.
  20. Delon de Metz (Zende Forrester Dominguez on B&B) is doing a guest role on "9-1-1"
  21. I guess today the writers decided to put Leo in scenes with Xander in boxer shorts, because *surely* that would get viewers to watch? NOPE. Basically if Leo is on, I don't watch.
  22. Go to the youtube for more than 12 minutes of the ladies being confused about their characters' histories. LOL. Some things they knew, but a lot they didn't.
