  1. Was that Sam Hall's last soap gig?
  2. From all the YT clips I've seen, I don't think Jill and Frank clicked as an "endgame" couple - no matter who played Frank. Even though he could be domineering and exasperating, I think she had more chemistry with Seneca Beaulac.
  3. Here's where I found the info on the Amy/Bruce/Steve situation - the article called "Liza and Her Loves": http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/31841-search-for-tomorrow-discussion-thread/page-46
  4. Nothing against Bo Hopkins - I'm sure he is a very nice man - but I've always found him scary-looking, even back in the early days of the show. Heck, even when he had a small role in American Graffiti, which was made almost a decade before the show!!!
  5. Yes - and from what I understand, he and Kate Mulgrew have remained good friends to this day.
  6. Here it is!! Doug Watson and Vicky Wyndham present the 1986 Outstanding Lead Actor to David Canary, starting at the 54:37 mark:
  7. Here's an NBC Daytime promo from 1965, TD included: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xyxi9_nbc-daytime-1965_news?start=12
  8. I didn't know that. Thanks!! I'll go to YT and see if I can find it. Someone was asking about if any clips of Susan Trustman's Pat are out there. Here's the clip - and yes, that is a pre-Mac Cory Doug Watson at the beginning. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xyxi9_nbc-daytime-1965_news?start=12
  9. Absolutely. I can never hear "Danny Boy" without thinking of Helen/Maeve.
  10. OK, thank you for filling in the blanks for me. When David Canary won the 1989 Best Actor Emmy (Doug Watson had also been nominated posthumously), he made an especially classy comment in his acceptance speech - giving props to his one-time AW co-star Doug Watson and what a gentleman he was. I just thought that was really sweet.
  11. UH should totally do a profile of Howard Rollins. Guessing from the number of fans of ITHOTN that post here, he would be the perfect celeb to do an episode about.
  12. John James looks normal for a man his age, which is more than I can say for some of his contemporaries. *coughBruceJennercough*
  13. How long was the gap of David Canary leaving AW and joining AMC? Both happened in 1983, right?
  14. Once again - the soap regimes never learn.
  15. What a shame. Jacquie (and her fans) deserved much better.
  16. Thanks! I'll let you guys know if/when I hear from anyone else.
  17. I'm not sure - it seems that the crown of lead heroine had been handed to Vicky Wyndham, and it seems that the AW brass at the time didn't feel there was room for two to share it. Maybe if they had been under a different EP than Paul Rauch, things may have been different.
  18. HUH??? I have to admit I didn't see that promo. That's like making Rick James the subject of a recent episode of the original show. I don't think these folks qualify as "unsung".
  19. Thanks. Did Dave Davis ever appear again in the years to come?
  20. How long was that family on the canvas?
  21. I think there still might be a promo of the entire NBC daytime drama lineup of 1965 (including the short-lived Moment of Truth - which starred AW's future Mac Cory, Doug Watson) with Susan Trustman's Pat behind bars on either YT or Dailymotion.
  22. I LOVED the Peaches & Herb episode!!! It was nice because no one involved dealt with drug or alcohol issues, or pretty much any huge scandal (in fact, Herb has spent his career away from music in law enforcement for decades and has been married to the same woman for decades). Their music still holds up very well - both with the first Peaches (the late Francine Barker) and the Peaches of the "Shake Your Groove Thing" and "Reunited" era (Linda Greene-Tavani). Coming up: Angie Stone (1/28, 8 PM EST) Meli'sa Morgan (2/4, 8 PM EST)
  23. Just curious - when Liz Hubbard made her debut as Dr. Althea Davis in 1964, was Althea still married to her first husband Dave or were they already divorced? From watching the episodes of Althea's therapy sessions with Dr. Bill Winters, I know that she also had a short-lived romance with the hospital chaplain (who chose his work over her) as well as her short-lived engagement to Matt (who saw her as a friend rather than a lover) before he married Maggie.
