  1. Thanks for the info, everybody!
  2. Didn't DID storylines get BOTH Sharlenes (Laurie Heinemann and Anna Holbrook) Emmys?
  3. Yeah, they showed the same episode twice. Hopefully that will be straightened out tomorrow.
  4. I watched SUN on and off during its brief run on NBC, but they sure did create some memorable characters...especially in the villainy department (Annie, Virginia, Derek, etc.).
  5. I'd never seen those photos before. She really did look a lot different when she wasn't "Mrs. Roper", before she was "Mrs. Roper".
  6. Between Nick's "for crying out loud!" and Karen's "You Americans!" - I'm surprised no one has invented a drinking game for this show yet. LOL
  7. I don't believe they ever said where her mother is now, or if she is still alive. I agree with you that more aspiring musicians should follow her lead and go to Juilliard or a similar school to learn more about music. Speaking of Generations - I noticed that Richard Roundtree was also in its cast for a time. Make that TWO members of that cast who are the profile of their own UH episodes!! Smokey Robinson even had a short-term role (as an actual character, not as himself), and he's been interviewed on several Unsung episodes. They definitely need to profile that little soap!!
  8. I never knew she was on SFT. When was she on?
  9. Yes, even take the end credits scene with the newlyweds miserable in their twin beds - and then cut to Althea/Nick who can't keep their hands off each other. Take Althea who glows and has a spring in her step, and then take Karen who looks like she is being led off to the electric chair. Susan, I've been thinking the same thing you just wrote. I'll see your theory and add that the bride will have a change of heart while he looks for warmth elsewhere. They really did pack a lot into those half-hour shows, didn't they? I know this show never expanded to an hour, but I think you are right that a lot was lost in translation when other shows did.
  10. Very cool! I had no idea she had contributed to a book.
  11. Finally, I found a listing of the upcoming episodes of UH. Wednesday, 2/25 - Redd Foxx Wednesday, 3/4 - Sheryl Underwood Wednesday, 3/11 - Richard Roundtree Wednesday, 3/18 - Baby Boy
  12. These sound great. I'll have to check out that Dailymotion channel one of these days. Thank you, slick.
  13. They both look wonderful!! Thanks for sharing the photo.
  14. Interesting clip - thanks for sharing.
  15. Joe Morton, who played Dr. Abel Marsh on AW in the mid-80s, was interviewed in the second season opener of Unsung Hollywood - which profiled A Different World (he played Byron Douglas III).
  16. Sharon Gabet is a sheer delight. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
  17. Sharon DeBord, at the same time she was getting started on GH, guested on Bewitched several times as Darrin's (Dick York) secretary. Her funniest moment was when everyone was under the spell of Endora's "truth god". Darrin to Betty the secretary (DeBord): "Boy, that's a tight dress you're wearing. It looks like it was sprayed on!" LOL
  18. Has anyone seen the ADW episode yet? Jasmine Guy, Dawnn Lewis and Kadeem Hardison are all interviewed and they all look fantastic.
  19. I see!! A happy coincidence, I'd say. :-)
  20. Thanks for the link. You are so right - you'd never see a scene like that on daytime (or primetime) now. watson71, did you choose your screen name in honor of Mr. Watson? If so, what a great tribute. Not only could he do heavy, spellbinding drama - he was also adept at comedy, like when he played Tom Hanks' dad in The Money Pit.
  21. Here's another idea for an UH episode - the fully integrated yet short-lived (1989-91) soap, Generations, which didn't stand a chance due to a poor timeslot and preemptions of Persian Gulf War coverage. Several of its actors are still in soaps (James Reynolds, Kristoff St. John) and one of its cast members is even the subject of her own UH episode (Viveca Fox)!!! To this day, it's a soap not many talk about and I would like to learn more. I think it would be a perfect subject for UH.
  22. Wow, I never knew all that. Thanks. At least Patrick Tovatt wasn't without a gig for long, as he joined SFT for the rest of its run later on in 1986, and then of course had a long run on ATWT.
  23. Yes, Peter Burnell's Mike is definitely breathing new life into the proceedings. Count me in with the others who love Althea/Nick. When Retro began airing the episodes, I didn't like him at all. Once they took him out of Liz's orbit and back into Althea's, I began to like him. Now, he's my favorite of the male characters.
