I don't know about Mark Hamill's GH storyline, but in reality he and the actress who played his sister (Anne Wyndham) were a couple. You probably already knew that. There's a nice color photo of them in Gary Warner's GH book.

I was watching a Starsky & Hutch rerun yesterday and saw Rick Edelstein's name in the credits as story editor. Of course, Rita Lakin made the transition to primetime (at least outside of the serial realm, as she had written for Peyton Place) writing for another show in the Spelling/Goldberg canon - The Mod Squad.

Between the writer's strike and the passing of Mr. Watson, it seemed like a lot of things might have turned out differently. We'll never to know to how much extent.

Thanks again for clarifying. I had no idea they signed away their profits to the show as part of the out-of-court settlement. You're also right that they crammed a lot into less than a decade. It seems like the show went on longer than that. SantaBarbaraNBC, do you have Episode 152 in your collection somewhere - in English? That was the episode that showed the scenes at the graveyard after Joe's funeral and showed Amy and Brick making up in the aftermath of a misunderstanding about Elizabeth Peale. I've never seen the entire episode and would love to. Thanks!

I agree that Karen should pull some more of the weight in this relationship, but Steve should also learn to calm down a little. The way he roughly grabs her is appalling - especially considering that she's pregnant.

Wow, I had known that David Canary was on The Doctors and AW before hitting his biggest daytime fame on AMC, but not that he was on SFT. Then, of course, years later he and Michael Nouri would both be on AMC.

Sounds like there was a lot of wasted story potential after Lemay left for the last time - especially where the Frame family was concerned.

For everyone's sake, I hope it sells and the public doesn't have to see another of his reality shows. (Didn't he and LeAnn have a reality show? If not, it sure feels like they did!)

It's also incredible how they were able to keep many of the core actors together for so long - James Pritchett, Lydia Bruce, Liz Hubbard, Gerald Gordon, David O'Brien, Carolee Campbell, Laryssa Lauret, Sally Gracie, Peter Burnell...a lot of the people we are seeing in these episodes now put in significant tenure. saynotoursoap, Paul Denis' 1984 book Inside the Soaps also attributed the "bawled/balled" blooper to David O'Brien, but maybe both he and Carolee messed up that line at different times!! LOL We'll be seeing a major event coming up in these reruns five days ahead of schedule. Next week begins the October episodes, and NBC pre-empted their regular weekday soap lineup to air the 1968 World Series (the Detroit Tigers (who won) vs. the St. Louis Cardinals). That WS went the whole seven games, and five went on during weekdays. Two of the games were played during the weekend, and the teams had two days off for travel days - and I assume NBC went back to regularly scheduled programming on those two days.

TV One's Unsung Hollywood profiled Viveca Fox (Maya) in their most recent episode. Richard Roundtree (Dr. Reubens) will be profiled in a UH episode to air Wednesday, March 11.

That's a great post, with so many great ideas. Farmers are also at the mercy of the weather and changing prices, which would be quite different from soap conflicts that we have seen up to now.

I don't think I'm spoiling much, All My Shadows, when I tell you that Little Boy Doctor gets a glorious final episode. I'll leave it at that, but it will make you both laugh and cry. Bethel does come back briefly after the temp, so she does get in some good scenes with Karen. Let's just say lots of side-eye...

Tamara Tunie, who for so many years juggled ATWT and SVU, appeared on the latter at the end of last night's episode. Is this the first time she's appeared on SVU this season?

I had never even heard of Lady Blue until seeing that clip. I take it that it didn't last too long.

The Viveca Fox episode that aired last night was nice and did touch on her soap beginnings. I had known about Generations, but didn't know she was on Y&R and that's what led her to Independence Day (some producer had seen her on Y&R and thought she'd be great in the movie). Viveca herself had nothing but nice things to say about how hard people of soaps work.

The videos are great. I have no idea who owns SB now. Is New World Productions even still around?
