Ashley and Derek are like the perfect sleeping pill. I just zone out when they’re on - both together and apart. Hate these characters and not a fan of what these boring actors are bringing to the table either.

I don’t know how we got here, but Tracy/Jane has become the heart of this show. They need to hold on to her for as long as they can.

We need more weeks with none of the bland whites.

The Anna/Emma scenes were some of the better scenes that have been done in a long time on this show. Braedyn Bruner is a very capable actress, and I want to see the show give her the opportunity to continue to evolve as Emma.

Satra's voice always irritated me, and I always felt like Lucy was just a poor man's placeholder for Harley when Ehlers first left.

Agree with those who mentioned how much easier last week flowed since Ashley and Derek weren’t on to kill the momentum of the individual episodes. That’s telling to me that these characters need to be reevaluated or written out. In fact, I didn’t notice they were even missing - that’s how much I don’t care about them.

Exactly - DAYS issues are systemic, the budget issues and absurd production schedule is not going away. The latter especially leaves very little room for flexibility or for creativity to thrive.

It’s not shaming, but they’ve made Kat’s virginity her defining character trait outside of her hatred for Eva. It’s a bit baffling tbh.

BTG seems to be the only soap that still has characters mentioning real life relevant celebrities sometimes and not made up ones within their own universe. Sometimes it’s very cringe - like no, in no world would Dani have ever been a legitimate model rival to Naomi Campbell, lol. Stop with that sh!t now! Other than that, Beyonce has been mentioned a several times - often in Danielle Paige’s scripts. Really just speaking to the icon status she’s solidified and being the last of her generation of popular music to still have both cultural and commercial longevity.

To Nia’s credit though, she’s never bad mouthed the show or any one producer specifically in public. She said when she joined GL she had almost given up acting and was getting ready to try her hand at going to college. She doesn’t regret doing GL and considers it the “college experience” she never had.

He had more chemistry with Haley than Naomi. 😬

They do - and I even felt they would look good together after seeing them back to back in the opening credits. So horrible - this actor is by far the WORST in this cast. Again, more virgin talk between Tomas and Kat. 🙄 This is what I hate about the slanted writing for Dani. Nicole has no business telling Chelsea to be patient with Dani and rationalizing her behavior - it’s Chelsea’s damn life and she’s the one suffering because her mother has a strange obsession to live vicariously through her life.

Nia Long had started to do non-soap work before and during her GL run. Most notably playing Whoppi Goldberg and Ted Danson's daughter in the 1993 movie Made in America while still being under contract at GL. Melissa Hayden said in an interview not too far back that the "producers" were not too kind to Long whenever she'd ask to do other work during her time on GL. I assume that's why she was eager to leave when her contract was up, in addition to JFP turning GL into the Buzz Cooper & Friends hour by that point.

Kim didn’t have the career she wanted when she left GL, and I think that insecurity still weighted on her when she returned. It didn’t help that Paul Rauch thought Reva should be the sex goddess center of everything. To her credit, though, she admitted to the tension with Watros. She also publicly said Watros deserved to win the Daytime Emmy in 1998 (which she did) over her. Even though there was some jealousy, Kim could still admit Watros was a talent to be reckoned with. Same with Michelle Forbes a decade earlier.
