  1. I don't know if its by design or not, but this show has a problem with maintaining momentum, IMO. Again, I don't need the same conversations over and over again, but the big stories need a more consistent throughline that builds to a payoff that makes sense. There's a start/stop functionality on the show that I don't think they've fully mastered at this point. I feel like that may account for the erratic ratings trends.
  2. After Dani held her at gunpoint at her wedding and casually feels entitled to show her way into Haley’s house whenever she feels like it, I won’t feel bad for Dani if Haley fakes a miscarriage and frames her for it ala Annie/Reva on GL.
  3. It’s time to recast or write out Tomas. This guy cannot act or string together a believable sentence. It’s been long established that Bill is a serial cheater. Why does Haley think she can tame that, and why does Dani want to keep putting up with a man that was never loyal to her in the first place?
  4. Minus the bulky ass earrings, Haley looks great today in the green ensemble.
  5. I don’t know how upset Dani or her kids would be if Andre had another side piece - especially given his supposed reputation as a “playboy.” From the writing, Dani doesn’t see Andre as more than sex as she’s still emotionally entangled with Bill.
  6. I just haven’t cared for anything that’s been dished out for like a decade + at this point. I’ve seen both good and bad eras of the show, and Chris Clenshaw’s run (which some folks seem to really like) left me a bit cold from what I saw. The show still seems as short sighted and and hastily produced as possible to me. Also, because Corrie and Emmerdale suck, it doesn’t give EE a pass for mediocrity. I’ve seen a lot of that behaviour on other forums and I think it’s stupid as hell. There’s a segment of fans that are so desperate to cling to anything after the very loooooooooong dull period EE experienced (which tbh, I don’t think it’s really recovered from based on what I see).
  7. Behind the scenes of Michelle Ryan’s first day back as Zoe. Ben Wadey talks a bit about the Slater era being his era of the show. Jessie seems elated as well. I’m not watching as I feel disconnected from the show in its current state, but hope it works out, even if Zoe was damn annoying outside of her relationship with Kat.
  8. I think an issue I’m having with the show right now is that the stakes to all these stories feel so muted. The pacing moves fast, yes, but the stories don’t feel gripping or as if we’re building to something interestingly explosive. The stories need more fire, for the lack of a better word. I want to see if this continues as we approach the 6 month mark, or if they’ll use that as an opportunity to pivot some things.
  9. Reminds me of morlock/mutant character Leech from Marvel comics.
  10. No one has been so awfully dressed in daytime since Louise Shaffer replaced Maree Cheatham as Stephanie Wyatt on Search for Tomorrow.
  11. Ashley just doesn't work - they need to write this character out IMO. Derek, too, but he's less problematic for me right now.
  12. I think people are conditioned to B&B, BTG being a new soap doesn't have the same sentimental factor. If anything, it has more to provide being a brand new entity.
  13. I think a valid critique I have is that it feels like a lot of things may "advance" but they sometimes go nowhere - what was the point of that sexual harassment case, or Anita's Articulettes reunion? It kind of felt like those things wrapped up as soon as they started. Was the latter simply to usher TT off the show for a planned break? That doesn't mean longterm story, IMO. Also, sometimes things are dropped for weeks before it gets revisited - that kills story momentum. I don't need the same conversations every day, but when you go multi episodes without revising something, it does make it harder to want to invest.
  14. I do think creatives should listen to overwhelming/trending feedback from audiences so they're not totally tone deaf and can write to what's actually resonating with audiences - and if something isn't working with the audience, they need to strategize how they're going to fix it. That said, in the social media age, there's always going to be "haters" or a group of people that bombard with negative sentiment over and over again. If you're going to keep your profile open to the public, that is the price you have to pay. MVJ needs to learn to not take any of this personally, tune out the unnecessary noise, and take everything with a grain of salt. Defensive social media posts like that will only give attention to the people who she wishes would stop, and frankly, does not come off as being confident in her own work.
  15. I generally have no use to see Frank give his OLTL friends roles that have no place on GH. But, in this case, it’s nice to see Erika again and I hope it’s just a meaningful short stint.
  16. People often underestimate how popular and commercially successful MSW continues to be - even to this day. The initial DVD release sold well, and it would never have gotten the blue ray box set treatment if it wasn’t in demand. Many shows that people swear are popular never get that treatment (because they don’t sell well).
  17. I don’t think “people” are making this into anything. When you hear JFP, of all people, is on the payroll again but not in a producing/position of power role, it’s normal to wonder what the hell that’s about. What expertise does the show need from her that it can’t get from the people already on staff?
