  1. Was’t Anita’s prime in the 70’s and early 80’s? If Vernon met her in the 70’s and she left her career behind a few years after, she wasn’t singing New Jack Swing, lol.
  2. What’s with this lame/generic BBD/new jack swing backing track, lol. Anita was not singing that type of music in her heyday.
  3. I was referring to Dana aka Leslie, lol
  4. Eva continues to be the standout. I am willing to bet that TPTB had no idea Eva and Dana would be their breakout characters that seem to resonate most and more than the mainline Duprees.
  5. “Ratchet block party” - Kat is an elitist cow.
  6. Sorry, not liking Jon Lindstrom‘s boring ass in this lame role.
  7. Chelsea’s growing resentment of Dani is refreshing in a sea of people constantly kissing her ass.
  8. I cringe when characters go out of their way to compliment Dani. Feels so forced as if they’re telling the audience that’s how they should feel about that character too - I personally don’t.
  9. Yep. It’s also making Eva a hell of a lot more sympathetic of a character in this budding feud (in addition to the Eva actress just being a stronger and more charismatic actress). Eva is the underdog and Kat is the mean rich b!tch who thinks she’s better than the girls from across town. That part drowns out her legitimate concerns about Eva. It will be a huge kick in the gut to her if she finds out that Eva is actually Ted and Nicole’s biological child, if they do decide to go down that route.
  10. Kat may hate Eva for other reasons, but there is a classist element there too. Kat seems like the type that wouldn’t like Eva due to her socioeconomic background and her upbringing. The digs at Eva feel very visceral.
  11. How soon before Dani does something to trigger Hayley’s miscarriage?
  12. Lisa was an acting coach on GL, even after she left the for the last time as Nola. I remember Tammy Blanchard speaking about Lisa being her acting coach while on GL.
  13. Frankly, the way he openly tried to rally his [stupid] fans against a pairing (or hell, a simple flirtation) with Beth Maitland felt very fatphobic. Like somehow he felt it was offensive to him for the show to pair him with a plus sized woman. He was an albatross on Y&R for years and he only has himself to blame for being fired and for almost totally erased there.
  14. Trisha Mann-Grant Is incredible though.
  15. Uh, BTG has been preempted in NYC.
  16. I hate that Friday’s are Casino Friday’s on this show.
  17. Nicole had a miscarriage - was that really Eva who Dana stole? 🙃
  18. Dana’s actions are not rootable, but the actress adds so much to the material that Dana doesn’t come off as just an another one-note villain. She’s fun, but Trisha makes what could be played as cartoon villainy seem real and personable. I think it’s a case where it’s the actress and not necessarily the material.
  19. Everyone kisses Dani’s ass and excuses her bad behavior. We’re supposed to root for her, but there’s nothing rootable there to begin with. Weirdly, though, Trisha Mann-Grant‘s acting makes us want to root for Dana. An actress that’s able to play against the material and elevate it.
  20. Girl raided those racks at Marshalls!
