  1. Beloveds, I've been to Latin America and I've been to Spain and Spain is not even close to Latino. Spain is a European country. Full stop. If you go towards Basque country, you will find more similarities between Basque language and culture with France than you would ever have between Basques and Cubans or Puerto Ricans or Salvadorans. Please, let's not conflate and confuse things.
  2. Masks, social distancing and handwashing definitely make a difference. Unfortunately, the bad advice coming from the WH is not being countered very well. The CDC has not put out the information forcefully or succinctly enough. With the exception of Dr. Fauci, who has been silenced at times, and undermined many other times, there have been moments of confusing guidance. It has been shown that not only do masks protect others but it also protects the person wearing the mask, which has been said not to be the case--until it was. Part of this has to be due to the novel nature of this coronavirus but some countries have known this for several months, why is this aspect just being clarified in the U.S.??
  3. That must lift a weight off your shoulders. I'm so glad for you!
  4. In watching the livestream with Hillary Bailey Smith, Scott Bryce and Gregg Marx, I got the impression that Casey was considered a more serious prospect for Frannie. I don't get that sense with Iva and Steve but who really knows for sure, if Frank Runyeon had wanted to stay? It was for the appearance Colleen McDermott that those Emily hints were being dropped. Melanie Smith didn't appear onscreen as Emily until early 1987.
  5. He needs a producer. I know it's unlikely that he considers it a professional effort but still, he needs some help.
  6. Maybe Alan should encourage people to send questions to either his social media account or in the comments section of the corresponding YouTube video ahead of time. Maybe then he can sift through comments, questions to share with the guests. The chat section sometimes has interesting questions, comments but is in general a mess with requests for other guests, blah blah blah that have nothing to do with the group of actors that are on the actual livestream. And Alan mostly seems to ignore the chat section anyway.
  7. Yeah, I heard that part. That's why I mentioned that it sounded as if there was a lot of upheaval BTS.
  8. Too bad the show never gave it a try, mixing things up might have yielded some interesting results. Sounds like the mid-late 90s had a lot of upheaval happening behind the scenes.
  9. Wow, Yvonne works as an intimacy coach for TV/films? She's going to be very busy going forward. It's all love for Sharon Case. People can say what they want, but Case minds her business and does her job.
  10. I don't follow her but in the past, I have looked in on her social media and noticed she RTed several tweets advocating for her to be back on daytime, not favorited, RTed, lol. I wonder what that means?
  11. You may have a point @P.J. although CZ has done Blue Bloods and may have a hair's breadth of a chance for consideration.
  12. Whyyyy? I have been watching episodes consistently. Is there any reason why? Is it another whining YT channel? P&G has shown absolutely no interest so how could it possibly be them??
  13. Before I realized that B&B was/is a complete sh*tshow, I thought it would have been great if Colleen went to B&B as a recast Margo Linley (Zenk already has experience playing a designer) with the possibility of Margo re-joining Forrester Creations and renewing a friendship and possibly something more with Eric Forrester, throwing Eric's current relationship/marriage into chaos. Zenk could even originate a new character on Y&R and mix things up with Jack, Jill and Victor. There are many possibilities but it seems like daytime's budgets are slim now.
  14. Quite a bit of it is needless back and forth anyway. That guy just decided he'd tried to make actors feel like crap and it backfired.
  15. Stunt casting clearly began in the immediate aftermath of the OJ trial because until then, I'd never really heard of soaps just bringing in a character for a long run just for the sake of bringing the actor/actress on board without a plan for story. That's not the way it's supposed to work.
  16. If you follow the entire thread, you'll see that the guy (who seems fairly obnoxious) does directly address Colleen and the person who defends her with the 'bottom of the barrel' comment, which did single out soap actors. Michael Park jumps in at one point and claps back at the guy.
  17. "But some leaders in the Black community, grateful for a widespread discussion on race, worry that what should be a moment for racial justice in Portland could be squandered by violence." DHS is whining about how the mayor and governor don't want them there but with the militaristic tactics being used by the feds in unmarked vans, is it any wonder that anyone with a shred of regard for human life and dignity wouldn't want the feds to be involved? It was hard for me to even decipher what the message is in all the protests because the violence has completely taken over.
  18. Ahaha. Lucinda, instead of telling her daughter the truth lets her rush back into the middle of civil war strife. Definitely not mother of the year material, lol. Yeah, I watched more and figured out that it had to have been a return visit. Sierra was no longer masquerading as "Carlos" and by the way Craig is caressing her shoulder and back, clearly they've bonded.
  19. Bumping this to the next page, so people don't have to go digging to find it. The soap industry did these shows a huge disservice in how they promoted their shows. The 'cheese factor' which these production companies and networks never hesitated to exploit, unfortunately had a lasting impression on how these shows were perceived on the surface. And many casual observers were less inclined to look beyond the surface.
  20. I seem to recall a couple of school friends that were sprinkled in scenes here and there, particular scenes that occurred at Lily and Dusty's high school, even back when Lucy Deakins was in the role and that girl at the party may have been one of those characters, but I don't recall her having a significant role. I'm not sure but Harrison may have been the preppie, uppercrust guy, who had a reputation, as Dusty put it. It's hard to tell how significant these teens were, given the fact that there are so many missing episodes from 1985. Speaking of 1985, I'm a bit confused: in June of 1985, didn't Bob and Kim already get married in April? I seem to remember Craig and Sierra went to the wedding/reception together. Yet, they're in Montega in June 1985?? For what purpose? I remember they were in Montega in January 1985 and got separated, which is why Craig got false "intelligence" that Sierra was dead (which Steve's bio father Michael Christopher set up to trick the junta into giving up their search for Sierra). Did they return to Montega after Sierra arrived in Oakdale? I don't remember seeing the fellow passenger on the plane trip and his accent sounds a bit dodgy, at that. So @Broldenit sounds as if Robbie dances with Wendy. I think that's what I heard.
  21. From a writer's perspective, it just makes it ten times harder to distinguish a character on the strength of her own personality if she is coming in, right away, as part of a couple or is getting entré via another character, the way Tangie did with Josh. I am absolutely opposed to introducing a character in this manner because it rarely works, it usually flops. Like I said upthread, Tangie came onto the canvas as something of an appendage to Josh and her character was never fully developed, she was kind of just there. Nia Long could probably write a short story on how a character gets wasted on daytime. Kat went from vital to lacking vital signs on the show's canvas. During one of those reunion livestreams, Melissa Hayden very bluntly stated that Nia was unhappy on the show. My guess, is that this occurred around end of '93 into '94 when the character had zilch impact on the show. The easiest way to make use of Barbara Crampton's talents would have been to create an entirely new character for her. Maybe a distant Lewis kin or even a Reardon relative or hey, a Bauer if they felt so strongly about connecting her to a core family (which wouldn't be necessary, imo). BC had great chemistry with Vanessa, I wouldn't have minded seeing her a some Chamberlin relative.
