  1. Honestly, I could care less about whatever enterprise SBC has got going but Rudy is so drunk off his supposed proximity to power that he didn't see the trap and FWIW, Stevie Wonder could've seen that trap coming. Marisa Tomei, God bless her once remarked that Giuliani wasn't for New Yorkers, he was for the tourists and the wealthy. That people could ever believe that Rudy was for the "common man", I just...am speechless. Someone once told me that Rudy was a jerk but he got things done. I would have liked to have spoken to that person again when NYC was in a recession by the final months of Rudy's mayoralty. Oh well, at least most of his supporters also knew he was a jerk too.
  2. Georges is a pleasant player, who I think maximized her game to the best of her ability. Towards the end of her career is when, I think, she played some of her best tennis in her career so while I was mildly surprised at the timing, I can understand that she may have wrung all that she had in her and may be tapped out as a result.
  3. Y'all obviously never knew Giuliani, who, imo has always been S.O.B. Even his own kids couldn't stand him mostly because of the way he constantly humiliated their mother. His personal predilections were happily ignored because he pretended to get rid of the mob (hint: he didn't). I won't even get into his abhorrent policies during his mayoral tenure. You all were snowed by his crafted image as "America's Mayor" that he cultivated on the backs of first responders and over the bodies of victims. Giuliani was at minimum a jerk who became increasingly intoxicated with his accumulation of power and at most a venal presence who lacked basic compassion for NYers who were not well-heeled and white. I lived in NYC during Giuliani years and if you think the issues that spurred the BLM movement didn't exist, just look up the names Abner Louima and Amadou Diallo. Chris Rock once "joked" that if you were Black in NYC during the Giuliani years, you could be shot while taking out the garbage in front of your own home. Most Black NYers during that time knew that that was only a slight exaggeration, but not by much. I don't feel one bit sorry for any embarrassment the man has coming his way.
  4. What happened to all the lower-ranked players that the ITF and ATP claimed were supposed to benefit financially from the resumption of the Tour? I don't see any of those guys playing.
  5. P&G?? More like, refuse to take their calls. Maybe if P&G got a big chunk of the proceeds, lol. P&G knows that final script was shite, which is why they don't care what happens to it.
  6. The only scintilla of interest I have in the GOP is to learn whose party it actually belongs to-- Trump or McConnell? At this point, as exemplified by the internecine battle over the stimulus, it would appear that it has to be either one or the other, as both men are working at cross-purposes at this juncture.
  7. I think someone is thinking strictly in terms of parts for each actor as their character, rather than a good overall script, which is unfortunate. This also seems like someone wants to showcase the most recent characters (hello Liberty and Juicy Janet🥴) while providing enough vets to appeal to longtime fans of the show. Unfortunately, this also has the effect of looking like a one and done initiative, instead of an opportunity to reconnect with fans of the show and re-build a relationship with fans. Hate to say that it also screams "cash grab" for Trent's theater organization, which, like many theaters, may be in a financial bind right now.
  8. I agree. The vets deserve better than that final episode. A lot better.
  9. So many fantastic episodes to choose from in the show's history and this is what they choose?? I'd want to select an episode that either hadn't been seen in a long time or at least one that would leave fans wanting more and wondering when the next reading would be. Courtroom episodes usually provide great seated drama, without the need for much physical action. When Paul or Barbara went on trial for James Stenbeck's supposed killing. Or even further back in the show's history. Not everyone needs to play the exact role they had on the show.
  10. Eileen Fulton too? Since I couldn't get through it the first time, I couldn't imagine sitting through it now.
  11. Has Barr been seen in public lately, like, in the past two weeks?
  12. It's a moot point to focus on Tamara Tunie at this point since she's unlikely to have any time for Alan's podcast now since she recently signed on to direct a musical. My original point had to do with the absence of Black actors from ATWT appearing on Alan's livestream and how odd it is. Tunie is one of a number of actors who fits the bill. I mentioned her because she was probably the longest running and likely one of the final Black actors to regularly appear on that show, which is pretty sad, imo.
  13. Is Paris Masters still happening??!
  14. Wow, what a difference when the storyline, acting and video/audio quality are all top-notch! That YouTube channel usually has some grainy grainy episodes (I still appreciated then since most were posted nowhere else), so I admit my surprise at seeing episodes posted in such pristine audio and video quality. It takes my breath away to see all the future Emmy, Oscar and Tony awards winning actors in just one storyline alone. ATWT had such an incredibly strong roster of talent during that time. It just seemed to fit, lol.
  15. I have been reading about the sheer number of registered Democrats that have been voting early and by mail outpacing Republicans. There's a chance that Republicans, freaking out from Trump's rhetoric, are waiting until election day but normally it tends to be Republicans who usually vote by mail in higher numbers. It just looks like each of them are willing to, not only tank the other man's chances, but bring down the entire GOP, if he thought it would save himself. Only the most right-wing economist believes that the U.S. has a chance to rebound and rebuild from this with such an austere stimulus package. And make no mistake, austerity is what McConnell and Senate Republicans are proposing. It's unlikely that anything gets passed before Thanksgiving, if that. If Trump ends up a lame duck on his way out, there is no incentive to even negotiate until January, with a new Congress and God willing, a new president.
  16. As for the staged reading, I agree-- why the last episode? A month late too. A Thanksgiving episode would have at least been more interesting. How many characters actually appeared in the final episode? It seemed like such a small number. The last episode?
  17. The episode with Susan Pratt was great. I get the impression that he doesn't know as much about GL so he is less likely to preemptively censor or steer the reunions away from controversial topics or what he perceived as controversial. He can rest assured, TT is busy directing these days.
  18. Does it seem like Senate Republicans and the White House are bent on mutual destruction where the stimulus is concerned? Granted, Trump is completely unreliable and prone to change his mind faster than the weather but he and Mitch McConnell seem to be locked in a battle of wills as far as their ceilings on the total amount for the stimulus package.
  19. She's a Scientologist. Most of them believe that one can 'cure' oneself of mental health problems by auditing their minds. Very nutty, which is why I don't understand why her opinion gets any space on any public platform besides her own.
  20. Thing are so bad here at globally that there is a full-on armed conflict between two countries and it has barely made news here.
  21. Sorry if you misunderstood my post, as I never meant to give the impression that Tune would 'spill tea'-- that's not even my impression of her. From what I remember of previous interviews that she has done for other media outlets, she doesn't strike me as the type of person who would willingly go on a platform to have to censor her thoughts mince words just to make the host feel comfortable. I believe that is what I posted. Also, I was not the person who posted that Tune said no, just to be clear. It's not just about Tune , btw. I have yet to see any Black actors who appeared on ATWT on any of Alan's livestream reunions and I am wondering why that is. It seems odd to me.
  22. True. I couldn't imagine. I get the sense though that he grew up in a household where soaps were watched though. Perhaps he only really began to really follow once he began to work in the industry. Post mid-90s, especially for CBS soaps...are not really the halcyon days, far from those days.
