  1. Oh, I knew right off the bat that it had to be Goutman. Mean-spirited and disrespectful were practically his middle names.
  2. During that last decade of the show, I took breaks from watching until I just gave up on watching, so I missed her run but her experience sounds accurate to what the show had become. It is heartbreaking, to think back to what the show had once been in it's history and what it descended into. Good for her, telling her truth. A lot of soap fans like to in paper over just how bad things got, in favor of a rose-colored image of the show, when we (and anyone paying attention) know there was a great deal of toxicity and mean-spiritedness. One only need to listen/read the accounts of some of the veterans (Bryce, Byrne, Fulton) who have spoken about how badly they were disrespected to understand this.
  3. Might have to keep this in front of mind.
  4. Maybe it is just my TL, but I didn't see anyone judging Abrams for what she said during her interviews. It was mostly people amplifying her remarks and agreeing with her.
  5. Don't be surprised if Drew Barrymore gets slotted in there. It should be obvious that this show has not been performing well for quite some time. If it were, Sharon would have been suspended pending investigation, rather than the whole show being put on temporary hiatus. Also, don't be surprised if that temporary becomes permanent. Honestly, I could care less, I just find these excuses kind of ridiculous. ETA: the hiatus is two days? Is that long enough for CBS to plot whether they want to put this broadcast eyesore to bed?
  6. Wow congrats to TT!
  7. "This was a pivotal week," said Adam Jentleson, a former Senate Democratic leadership aide and author of the book "Kill Switch," which argues that the filibuster is crippling American democracy. "Manchin's comments were certainly encouraging, but the most important thing may be the fact that zero Republicans voted for the American Rescue Plan. I think that drives home the need for reform more than anything else."
  8. Interesting thread.
  9. As I've said on the previous page, when anyone takes a critical look at the majority, if not all of the controversies and scandals/shakeups related to this show, Osbourne is usually in the thick of it. I already knew this and I was never even a viewer of this show.
  10. Apparently, diabetes/low blood sugar makes you racist? Racist announcer proved the students' point. She also did a very insightful commentary video on the Harry & Meghan situation with the British royal family but I suspect some may not want to watch or hear that one.
  11. Portions of this article really harkens back to a documentary on Ed Koch that PBS showed years ago that had a segment on a very nasty primary election between Koch and Mario Cuomo for NYC mayor, that featured a homophobic slogan against Koch. The suspicion that the "Vote for Cuomo, not the h*m*" was Andrew Cuomo's idea. As soon as I saw that, I felt immediate disgust for Cuomo and that lingered in my mind, despite whatever Cuomo would do effectively as governor of NY (although I have read of his very rancorous relationship with Democrats in the state) also despite my feelings on what I would learn about Koch's problematic handling of race and racial conflict in NYC. Personally, I think that the investigation should proceed and be completed. I also think that Cuomo should not run for another term, and if he does, he ought to be "primaried" (it it rare that I agree with this type of process, but this is the type of situation that calls for such a measure). Given the way he has functioned as a battering ram since his intro into politics, it is unsurprising that he has virtually no allies now.
  12. Oh wow, this sounds cool! I still have to watch the one on Beverly McKinsey.
  13. ^^I don't even watch the show and I remember when that happened. The fact of the matter is that, of every conflict that I have ever read about in this talk show's history has had Sharon Osbourne in the mix. She is the "recurring decimal" in this equation. She continues to illustrate how truly problematic she is. It's utterly ridiculous that folks continue to try to both-sides this thing. It's her, people. Get a clue. Osbourne is nothing if not consistent.
  14. Holly Robinson Peete has a very subtle tweet and retweet on her Twitter feed.
  15. We don't want him back on the East Coast either. 🤩🤗
  16. Hollywood (and the country) would rather be racist than sustainable as an industry.
  17. Yes, hence the word "consider". As I said, I know this sometimes happens, through no one's fault but sometimes, a glance up thread, or on a previous page is all it takes.
  18. One can question the timing of this (i.e.- why didn't this happen sooner?), still this seems big. Some have mentioned that she is poised to take a lot of evangelical women with her. *On a side note, I am noticing some posts that are defacto duplicates of other posts. Can we consider being more conscientious about this? I have unintentionally done this too, on occasion, particularly if a new post is posted simultaneously and gets bumped to a new page but I try to look back to make sure I am not posting something that has already been posted. Or, if I have something to add, I will at least quote the previous post before adding mine, thereby bumping the other post, so it doesn't get lost. So many posts are being lost at the rate new posts are coming in and it just becomes a kind of "white noise". I don't know about anyone else, but it has caused me to skip, rather than read a number of posts. Just a thought.*
  19. Honestly, if they replaced it with a third hour of TPIR I doubt anyone would truly care. Or second hour, whatever, lol. It matters little.
  20. This show has been a toxic mess since the very beginning, from everything I have read. If TPTB had any decency (which they don't), they would have already pulled the plug on this circus.
  21. Oh, so sixteen have been confirmed, I just wanted to know who has already been confirmed. There may be names on the White House website but this gives me a general figure. Thanks. Yes, I already know how the previous administration stalled things, while being indifferent to filling many positions. Speaking of which,
  22. Marcia Fudge also got Senate confirmation. Is there a link to a list of all the cabinet confirmations? Oh, and this schmuck is trying to tout the benefits of a bill he didn't even vote for.
  23. Just cancel it, it's garbage. CBS Daytime relies on a significant slice of the AA viewing audience to keep their lineup afloat and having Osbourne, with her ignorant ass, berate her colleague who is a black woman is not the way to gin up ratings. Their daytime shows are already dying, they might as well bury this one, like the compost heap it truly is. The only way this show is truly going to gin up ratings is if they put Oprah in charge of the show because clearly she knows how to deliver big ratings in a way that CBS hasn't truly known, outside of sports. CBS is terrible too-look who they put in charge for decades, Leslie Moonves. Toxic to the core . Glad I avoid 90% of what this network presents as programming.
