CNET blog is pretty informative and they have a YouTube channel too. Had Toshiba stayed in the game and continued to manufacture laptops for the consumer market, I would have been buying another Toshiba Qosmio but they are not, so I had to look around and it's been months now. I really have been looking for a year, even before my laptop took its last gasp. At this point, I really can't put it off any longer. It's impacting my ability to get things done.

Mr. Bell Sr. may very well have been cut from the same autocratic cloth as Ms. Irna Phillips, but As The World Turns never used Cue Cards, nor Teleprompters. Recently, some former ATWT actors expressed shock at going to do work on the Y&R set and seeing the cue cards being used. Some former ATWT actors talked about this last year on some of the reunion livestreams.

Okay, back to our regularly scheduled programming. 😂😬 It's definitely an investment, but each of my laptops have lasted me at least 8 years, so in 22 years, this will only be my 3rd laptop.

The laptop is almost 2K. Unless you're editing videos, or doing design projects, I would not recommend, lol.

I found the laptop that I want. Have I purchased it yet? No, 😆. It's actually quite pricey since it is a design/creative laptop and is upgradeable. With the next stimulus funds added to what I have specifically saved, I shall finally purchase my laptop. :) Typing on the phone really gives me typo-itis and I hate it. Although, I am also currently looking to buy a new phone, but I may want until June when electronics and tech products are known to have price drops.

While, my Wi-Fi and phone battle for loading supremacy, can people please refer to a bill as a bill and not a law? Also, if something is being unveiled and it has yet to even pass one side of a legislature, isn't it really still a proposal? I'm not dismissing the severity of the threat but I saw this happen often in the buildup to the general election and the GA Senate runoff and it had the air of inevitability that, thankfully was in error. Words do have meaning. Let's not call something what it isn't, until it is.

When that next stimulus check comes in, let's just say, I'll be "off to the races" to buy my laptop. The only thing is, that I'd like to figure out how to detach my old gaming laptop screen from the rest of the chassis, so I can use it as a second monitor. The screen is still in excellent condition. It's the rest of the computer that has bitten the dust. Last night, I just found out that Count Stovall played a character called Dr. Hank Chambers on "The Doctors" before playing Detective Roy Franklin? Why hasn't anyone tried to get him for one of these reunion livestreams? Also, why were there two Black doctors with the first name Hank? Couldn't they come up with any other names? Even Henry "Hank" Aaron didn't want to be called Hank.

The SCOTUS decision on Old Orange face's taxes come as no surprise. Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Coney Barrett may be 45's plants but they certainly don't want to be seen as 45's pigeons, especially by their SCOTUS colleagues with whom they must work with. Having missed the spirit of "Fat Tuesday", I hope to soon be able to say "Laissez le bon temps roulez" for the SDNY.

My gaming laptop's CD/DVD-ROM drive had Blue Ray.

I always thought it would have been a cool idea to let people download episodes and allow them single transfer to a DVD-R. It would be cheaper for the producer/distributor. A single or a group of episodes per DVD-R but one transfer each, so it can't be reproduced and resold. When SoapClassics built a streaming platform, that's the direction I thought they would eventually go.

Still, I would like to hear from the SoapClassics people to hear their take on the matter, especially since it was they, not P&G who were doing all the work in the digitization process for those box sets. Surely, if PGP/P&G made them sign a NDA, or something in the licensing agreement, the statute of limitations must have run out by now. I wonder what the future is for the DVD? I still have my DVD Player but I know that today's PCs no longer even include the DVD-ROM.

Sunsetting, perhaps. From what I recall, As The World Turns appeared to be in Sunset Mode in its last decade.

The SoapClassics company must have assumed that P&G would renew the license agreement because they were given so little time for so many episodes. In that short time frame, the SoapClassics people were expected to digitize 12,000 episodes from analog, which was totally unrealistic. It seems like P&G didn't want the SoapClassics people to succeed. Too bad nobody has asked either company on the record for an explanation of what really happened. I think the customers who anticipated buying future compilations deserved an explanation. Not to just have the whole entire outfit just up and vanish.

Did the writer actually watch the show? Pretty sure Caleb was the older brother. Can remember that Caleb referred to Holden as "baby brother" more than once while trying to goad Holden and put him in his 'place'.

Oh okay, it was for Guiding Light and all of the other soaps too. Still, they didn't even get to Another World and the others. Wonder what really happened?

OTOH, it's really nobody's business about these players romantic lives, but I hope that Monfils can now focus on tennis, now that GEMS is over.

Just saw the replay and that Jenny/Jennifer part was funny though I doubt it was intentional. Whay can I say? Osaka has been on my radar since before she arrived on the main tour. It's interesting to see how others react to her success knowing that it doesn't surprise me.

This might inject some levity into the thread today.

Remember, these are folks who dropped their soaps because they were no longer the huge 'cash cows' they once were. In order to get their episodes "streaming ready', it would require a real investment. Only if a P&G finds a partner to do all the heavy lifting in the process (kind of like the SoapClassics people but on a massive level), I don't see P&G lifting a finger.
