  1. In a series of photos posted to Instagram and her Instagram stories, “The Big Bang Theory” and “The Flight Attendant” star Kaley Cuoco announced that she is dating former “Guiding Light” and “Ozark” star Tom Pelphrey. In the caption of her post, Cuoco says, “The sun breaks through the clouds, rays of gold slipping into my eyes and heart, rays of yellow to break the grey.” She included a heart emoji along with an evergreen tree, paw prints, and a reference to being dizzy as she referenced a new relationship with Pelphrey, and living life surrounded by nature and her dog. Pelphrey also posted about the relationship, using a quote from January 2004 by Noah’s Wall, which states, “But nothing can save you. Not your friends, not the best Fred Astaire musical you’ve ever seen- the grace of it, not your mother’s beauty, not a line from a letter you find at the bottom of a drawer, not a magazine or the next day. Nothing can save you. And you stand in the moonlight and a sweetness comes off the top of the trees, and the fence around the yard seals you off from the dark and you can’t breathe. It is all so familiar and possible. It is too simple that there is this much good in the world and you don’t know how to have it. And it makes you wonder when it was you lost your place. Then you catch a breeze, so warm and ripe, it makes you hope that someone will come who also cannot save you, but who will think you are worth saving.” In an Instagram story, Cuoco posted a selfie of herself and Pelphrey in what appears to be their bed. She captioned the post with “this man” while tagging Pelphrey in the post. Pelphrey is best known to soap fans for his role as Jonathan Randall on “Guiding Light” from 2003-2009, and as Mick Dante on “As The World Turns” from 2009-2010. He played Ben Davis in the third season of the Netflix series “Ozark.” Cuoco can currently be seen as Cassie Bowden in the HBO Max series “The Flight Attendant.” She previously portrayed Penny Hofstadter in the sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” from 2007-2019. 2. We don't know if this possibly caused the separation, so we don't know. It sounds harsh but what he said is exactly what was necessary. Had it been announced they were separated and then she revealed she was pregnant, things would be different. It happened to opposite way, however. His kids are his family. His wife's kid is not, despite their kids having a new half sibling (from the mother's side).
  3. I disagree. She announced she was expecting her fourth child on social media. As the father of their three other children, people automatically started congratulating him on social media, and possibly through texts/phone calls. He had to clear up that it wasn't his child. It sounds crazy but he did exactly what had to be done. Asking for privacy is also understandable. He's just saying don't ask me to say anything further and respect his right to not saying anything more than necessary.
  4. As the show has done in years past, CBS’ “The Talk” will be the place to be when it comes to revealing the annual Daytime Emmy Awards nominations. On Thursday, May 5, the show’s co-hosts will be on hand to reveal a select group of nominations for “The 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” including Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress, Supporting Actor and Actress, and Outstanding Daytime Drama Series. 5. No worries. This situation is quite shocking, but yet so soapy.
  6. The RIDE Foundation’s third annual gala, “Dance to End Hunger,” which this year benefits the Share Our Strength organization’s No Kid Hungry campaign and its fight to end childhood hunger in the US, will honor soap stars Eileen Davidson (“Days of our Lives,” “The Young and the Restless”) and Cameron Mathison (“All My Children,” “General Hospital”) on Saturday, June 18. Davidson will be receiving the Artistic Integrity Award while Mathison will be receiving the Vanguard Award. Each award is given to individuals in the public eye, who use their platform to make a change. RIDE (Robyn & Italo Dance Events) was formed in 2016 by Pro-Am ballroom dance partners Robyn Shreiber and Italo Elgueta, and was created to be a one-of-a-kind dance event for difference-making charities, encompassing humane and ecological causes and featuring the talents of compassionate stars of the dance world. This year’s event will be held at the City Market Social House in Downtown Los Angeles and will be hosted by Kate Flannery (“The Office”). “Dancing with the Stars” performers Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach, and “World of Dance” partners Karen & Ricardo will headline the live dance portion. “We are thrilled to designate No Kid Hungry as the beneficiary of our annual gala event,” said Robyn and Italo in a joint statement. “We have learned so much from the team about food insecurity in the US, and the children and families who benefit from their programs. We have seen firsthand their impact on our community through their school breakfast program, which is one of many ways they act and advocate to end child hunger.” They added, “Unfortunately, the pandemic has exacerbated this crisis and now more than ever, we must support the campaign’s work.” “[One] in 6 kids in the United States, or about 12 million children, face hunger,” stated Christina Donatelli Stodder, California Director of Development for Share Our Strength. “We are grateful for partners like RIDE who understand the importance of ensuring all children have access to three healthy meals a day.” Dance to End Hunger is being produced by Tony Award-winning producer Scott H. Mauro of Scott Mauro Entertainment, Inc. Tickets to the gala can be purchased online at www.RIDEvents.org. For more information, visit www.ridevents.org. 8. Steve Burton (“General Hospital”) recently took to social media to announce he and his wife Sheree are now separated. The announcement follows a since-deleted posting on Instagram by Sheree in which she announced she is pregnant with her fourth child. The daytime veteran stated the child is not his. Throughout their more than 23-year marriage, the two share three children together, two daughters and a son. “I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated. She recently announced she’s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve,” wrote the soap star in a recent post shared as part of his Instagram story. Last week, it was announced that Burton would be joining the cast of “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem,” reprising his role as Harris Michaels which he played in 1988 on “Days of our Lives.” Note: The post Steve Burton Announces Separation from Wife appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. 9. Appearing last week on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” the new talk series hosted by Piers Morgan on the rebranded TalkTV in the U.K., Sharon Osbourne sat down with Morgan to discuss her ouster from the CBS talk show last year. In their conversation, Morgan noted that Osbourne never said she agreed with what he said around the time, specifically his comments in reference to Meghan Markle and her appearance with husband Prince Harry on an Oprah Winfrey special that shed light on alleged racism within the Royal family. “My whole point was that you are a journalist and a celebrity, so, therefore, you’re paid to give your opinion – the same as I was paid to give my opinion. That’s why we’re there. And freedom of speech,” Osbourne told Morgan. After she was asked if she ever thought that within days of her supporting Morgan that she would have thought she’d be out of a job after working at “The Talk” for 10 years, Osbourne corrected Morgan, saying, “I was actually in my 11th year. I never thought in my wildest dreams that my career, after 50 years, would have ended that way. Did I want my legacy to be I was fired because accused of being a racist?” Asked if the experience ever scared her, Osbourne shared, “I don’t scare easily, you know that, but some of the comments that were coming through on my social media was so horrific about cutting my throat, my husband’s, even the dogs – they wanted to kill my dogs – and then they started on Ozzy, on his site and then my kids, and I just thought, ‘This is just insanity.’” She added, “I went back to CBS and I said, ‘Not only can I not earn a living but now I have to have 24-hour security because of you,’ and they go like, ‘So, what?’” Osbourne further told Morgan that as a result of the dustup with her co-hosts on the daytime talk show, the phone stopped ringing in terms of endorsements, charities she was involved with, and other job prospects and opportunities. “The phone never rang. That was it. You are untouchable,” she said of what happened. Morgan then brought up “Cancel Culture” and how there are those who doubt its existence. “What makes me so mad is I’m in a blessed situation that no matter what happens to my career my husband will always take care of me, but what happens to a person that, you know, say I didn’t have a husband but then I had kids to bring up, right. What happens to people like that who are canceled or fired because they’ve used the wrong term or something’s taken out of context and they’re fired. To the average person, what happens to that person?” Photo by Monty Brinton/CBS As for whether or not she’s kept in touch with Sheryl Underwood, who remains on the CBS panel even today, particularly whether Osbourne ever apologized to Underwood, Osbourne said she reached out to Underwood but didn’t receive any direct acknowledgment from her. “I sent her three texts of apologies and she never got back, and then she went onto national TV and said that I hadn’t apologized. So, what I did was, I actually on my social media printed the texts, and then she said, ‘Well that’s not an apology because I want it in a phone call and she never called me.’” Morgan was aghast, wondering what she ever had to apologize for, saying the experience was incredibly tough for Osbourne but thankfully she had her family to support her. “It was tough for me and it did affect me mentally,” said Osbourne. “It honestly did because after everything that I’ve felt, all my dreams I had achieved. Everything that I’ve wanted to do I had achieved and did I want my legacy for my family to be, ‘Oh, well, your nana was on television but everybody said she was a racist so she never went on television again. And that kind of ate me up. I must have cried for three months.” Courtesy of TalkTV Osbourne then revealed that the show’s creator, former executive producer, and co-host Sara Gilbert helped her get through it by telling Osbourne she needed help and that she needed to go somewhere, recommending somewhere (not revealed in conversation), and “then I was doing therapy and ketamine treatment.” Morgan asked Osbourne if she was ever suicidal at any point after things went down, to which Osbourne stated, “I didn’t want to give CBS the satisfaction.” Osbourne is now co-hosting a U.K. version of a show aptly titled “The Talk” on TalkTV but recently had to fly back to Los Angeles to take care of her husband, Ozzy, who was recently diagnosed with COVID-19. To watch Osbourne’s full conversation with Morgan and to hear more about what she’s up to these days, watch their full conversation below. 15. As word on the passing of Jerry verDorn continues to trickle out, and as colleagues, family and friends continue sharing some of their fondest memories of the beloved actor across social media and elsewhere, verDorn’s former “One Life to Live” co-star, Erika Slezak, has shared with Soap Opera Network her own memories of the actor from their eight years together where she played Victoria “Viki” Lord Buchanan to verDorn’s Clint Buchanan. “For anyone who knew Jerry verDorn, Sunday, May 1st, was a heartbreakingly sad day. He was a man of such warmth and kindness, talent, intelligence and most importantly humor, that every day spent working with him could hardly be called work. It was joy,” Slezak said of verDorn. “He so loved what he did and was so very good at it. I was the very lucky recipient of his last 8 years in daytime and I thank God for that.” Jerry verDorn joined the cast of “One Life to Live” as Clint Buchanan in October 2005. He remained with the daytime drama series until it concluded its run on ABC in January 2012. He reprised the role in April 2013 after the show returned and transitioned to an online format that amassed just over 40 episodes. He was joined by Slezak who also reprised her role on the soap. “He made every day one to look forward to. I will always think of him with that lovely, rather impish, smile on his face, and that will stay in my heart forever,” Slezak notes. “I know that he has gone to a peaceful place, with no pain. I send my love and deepest sympathies to Beth and their sons and their families, of whom he was so very proud. They have lost a great man.” From 1979-2005, verDorn starred as Ross Marler on “Guiding Light.” In 1995 and 1996, he won two consecutive Daytime Emmy Awards for his portrayal on the soap, both in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. He died on Sunday, May 1 after a months-long battle with cancer. The family of verDorn asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions in Jerry’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, Autism Speaks, the Actors Fund, or a charity of choice. A private memorial celebration will be held later this summer. Last week, the actress shared a photo of herself and on-screen daughter Victoria Konefal (Ciara Brady Weston) and on-screen son-in-law Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Weston) as they sat at a breakfast table enjoying croissants and danishes during filming taping. 23. After coming under fire for comments she made on the Friday, April 29 broadcast of her daytime talk show, “The Drew Barrymore Show,” in reference to Johnny Depp’s $50 million defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, host Drew Barrymore issued a public apology on her Instagram account, stating, “I can be a more thoughtful and better person moving forward because all I want to do is be a good person, and I very much appreciate the depth of this, and I will grow and change from it.” The episode featured an exchange between Barrymore and guest Anthony Anderson (“black-ish,” “Law & Order”) and was shared across the show’s social handles. It has since been deleted by the show following Barrymore’s apology. In the episode, Barrymore commented about the Depp vs. Heard trial, which began on Monday, April 11, while sitting on the floor, looking up at Anderson. She said to him of the trial thus far, “It’s like one layer of crazy. It’s a seven-layer dip of insanity.” Anderson added, “It’s truly amazing just to sit back and read the transcript of what they’ve done to each other.” An excited Barrymore responded to Anderson’s comments by displaying herself as a person licking the pages of a book that you just can’t put down. “He lost a fingertip. He drew his name in blood on the wall,” noted Anderson. “How about the burnt body, and why a Honda Civic?” questioned Barrymore. “You know the next day at Honda they all came into the office and were like, ‘Why did he pick us? Like, why?’” She added, “I know that these are two people’s real lives and I know what it’s like to have your life put out in public. I understand all the feelings, but they are actually offering up this information that nobody had to know. This is crazy!” Amber Heard, Johnny Depp Photo by BAKOUNINE/Shutterstock Apologizing on Instagram on Sunday, Barrymore said, “It has come to my attention that I have offended people with making light of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and for that, I just want to deeply apologize and appreciate everyone who spoke out because this can be a teachable moment for me and how I move forward and how I conduct myself.” She further stated, “I can be a more thoughtful and better person moving forward because all I want to do is be a good person, and I very much appreciate the depth of this, and I will grow and change from it, and I thank everyone for helping me grow along the way and teaching me. Thank you.” Fans weren’t having it with Barrymore’s apology, some going so far as to say Barrymore ended up making the apology about herself.
