Not defending the show but I still understand mentioning Mr. Roger's Neighborhood over As The World Turns.

ARTICLE: DOOLApp to Shutter with ‘Days of our Lives’ Digital Content Moving to YouTube
YouTube ads, like most/all online advertising, are user generated in that your typical habits online tells them what content you are more likely to watch in terms of what ads they should show. This is more so from a stats perspective in that each YouTube channel has a core demographic, and when you have registered watchers watching your content you can easily get an idea of what these people are like in terms of race, age, location, etc. While the channel doesn't control the ads itself (all done by YouTube algorithm), it wouldn't be surprising to see ads like movie trailers and the like. The median age of a YouTube watcher is vastly lower than that of the typical soap median age on a broadcast network so by posting on YouTube the exposure is helping generate a more youthfully engaged demo. Far from the classic episodes fans are clamoring for.

It was so long ago I'm not surprised. Not to mention ATWT has been off the air for over 10 years. If it were Y&R/B&B, which are still on the air, then I'd understand.

Definitely agree. However, the DAYS channel is run by NBC and not one run by Corday itself like the B&B YT page is run exclusively by the Bell family, so this is probably a 50/50 revenue share between NBC and Corday/Sony. It's not like Peacock can include that content as it stands and NBC.com isn't generating the revenue anymore like it use to since the ABC and NBC network websites have become devoid of any real content. So, yeah, I do believe this is in response to B&B and its posting episodes every day and likely generating good revenue. Being that DAYS is more socially involved (meaning social media, not real-life issues), I'd expect larger audience for DAYS in that regard. If you never noticed, the reason GH posts daily five minute clips of each episode is because they are getting revenue from that clip on YouTube and Facebook Watch. This is an additional method for the soaps to supplement their revenue for their production studios and/or their broadcast networks. YouTube is still king in terms of getting your content in front of the right audience, and a large one at that.

Citing a post in the comments section with a link to the show’s YouTube channel, an official statement from the series notes that international fans will now be able to see the content previously published on the DOOLApp with its transition to YouTube. Additionally, a note of thanks was published to the fans who downloaded and supported the application since its launch in November 2018 which coincided with the show’s 53rd anniversary. Corday Productions, Inc. The DOOLApp took two years to develop before it was officially launched on November 7, 2018. Its development team consisted of Tyson Parsons and Lien Gray of Media Bridge Marketing, along with former “DAYS” co-executive producer and creative director Greg Meng, former director of communication Maya Frangié, and content producer Michael Fairman of michaelfairmantv.com. "Y&R" is not too far off from its performance one year earlier in the demos. In Total Viewers it's up year over year and up year over year in Households, and remains third or fourth in the demos (often second). Josh is safe.

Days of Our Lives: January 2022 Discussion Thread
And that's a problem in itself. Not to mention EJ raped Sami. In the case of Kristen/Brady, it isn't the SORAS issue it's the fact that she was his step mom when he was younger. Sure, they can age to character but to outright ignore that she was around when he was growing up while still playing the beats of her obsession with John just isn't good writing by any of the writers or producers who allowed that plot. For soaps to survive in this current era of nearly 600 scripted series clawing for viewer attention they need to give some realism of sorts so that they can justify why they need 2.5 to 5 hours of a viewer's time. Just my opinion.

DAYS: Makeup room photo chart reveals contract cast for some point in 2022
Why is this spoiler already out there? Good, God I hate when people don't abide by agreements! Anyway, don't think too much about it. This episode won't be that impactful. Watch the episodes a few days after that for some real drama. Of course, to be clear, still watch ALL episodes of "Days of our Lives."

B&B January 2022 Discussion Thread
All five co-hosts are appearing on "The Price is Right at Night" on Wednesday, January 19. This is clearly a last ditch effort by CBS to save this show. If the ratings don't perk up it's done after this season and I expect a replacement announcement by April 1 or sooner (like how GL got the boot on that day).

Y&R January 2022 Discussion Thread
I agree, again for the most part. However, I do like EH and always have so I'm being slightly biased in this.

Y&R January 2022 Discussion Thread
Can Adam just confess he really wants Chloe already? I'd rather them as a pair rather than the back and forth between Adam/Sally and Adam/Chelsea. At least it would up the drama as both women realize they can't have him and he wanted someone else. Someone they confided in, for the most part. It would at least be dramatic and not ridiculous. Plus it would finally give Elizabeth Hendrickson something to do. She has done absolutely nothing on this show since the days of Chloe and Billy (Billy Miller) -- to be clear this wasn't a knock on EH. It's a knock on the writers.

Days of Our Lives: January 2022 Discussion Thread
This is why I could never get behind Kristen/Brady from a storyline perspective. The hot sex scenes were great to watch when you ignored actual character history. Not to mention she mothered Johnny's niece, which makes his comment about not seeing her since he was a baby very ridiculous. Now they have to age hers and Will's daughter who is never with either of her parents.

Days of Our Lives: January 2022 Discussion Thread
So what I liked about today's episode was the chemistry between Belle/EJ and Johnny/Gabi. Everything else was a bore. The writing for this show needs much improvement.

Days of Our Lives: January 2022 Discussion Thread
This is true. On a somewhat related note, is there supposed to be a jury for these scenes? Or is the judge coming to his own verdict and sentencing? If this is about kidnapping, wouldn't the victim need to be there, specifically in town if not in court? I know they excused it with Sami giving her deposition and stuff but that's a poor excuse, IMO. Additionally, I don't ever recall a time where a victim could be out of the country while someone is on trial for something done to them unless it was a federal case (mostly due to witness protection purposes, if anything). If it's about COVID or budget, I think I'd like to win the lottery just so I could infuse money into this show.

They were definitely the highlight of an otherwise awful episode. I could see them boinking in the court room during that lengthy break. Too bad it didn't happen because when it comes out "EJ"
