ARTICLE: R.I.P. Lindsey Pearlman – ‘General Hospital’ Actress Found Dead at 43, Days After Being Reported Missing
After being reported missing days earlier, “General Hospital” actress Lindsey Pearlman was sadly found dead this morning, the Los Angeles P0lice Department announced. The law enforcement agency shared that around 8:30 a.m. officers responded to a radio call for a death investigation at Franklin Avenue and North Sierra Bonita Avenue. The body was later confirmed to be that of Pearlman whose full name was Lindsey Erin Pearlman. “The cause of death will be determined by the coroner,” the department said in a statement. The location where Pearlman was found is south of Runyon Canyon Park, a popular hiking spot among locals. Pearlman was just 43 years old. Appearing on the daytime soap over two episodes in January 2020, Pearlman portrayed the role of barista Margaret “Maggie” McMorris. She shared scenes with series stars Maurice Benard, Steve Burton and Max Gail when their characters traveled to Brooklyn, NY so that Sonny (Benard) could get Mike (Gail) to take part in a clinical trial to help treat his Alzheimer’s disease. In a clip (shown below), Pearlman’s Maggie was used as a human shield at the Brooklyn Union Pub where she worked when Jason (Burton) shot a hitman to save her life. “The police found Lindsey. She’s gone. I’m broken,” read a message posted a short time ago on Instagram by Pearlman’s husband, Vance Smith. “I will share more later, but I wanted to [sic] thank you to everyone for their love and efforts and ask you to respect the privacy of her family at this time.” “Lindsey was a fierce animal advocate and a talented actress. Please consider a donation to @SanteDOr in her honor,” read a message on Twitter by Pearlman’s cousin, Savannah, who had been relentlessly seeking the public’s help in finding Lindsey. In addition to her recurring role on “General Hospital,” Pearlman’s other television credits include “Selena: The Series,” “American Housewife,” “The Purge,” “Chicago Justice” and “Empire,” among others. She also appeared as the lead in such films as “Signal to Noise” and “Pry Me Open.” In theatre, she appeared in numerous productions, including “Trevor,” “The Eight: Reindeer Monologues,” and “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot.” You can watch scenes from Pearlman’s appearance on “General Hospital” which was posted on her YouTube page below. ARTICLE: ‘Queens’ Concludes 13-Episode First Season with Anemic Ratings
On Tuesday, February 15, ABC aired what was likely the series finale episode of first season drama “Queens.” The episode averaged an anemic 1.071 million viewers, a 0.20 rating in Adults 18-49 and a 0.29 rating in Adults 25-54, according to broadcast finals released by ShowBuzzDaily. For the night, “Queens” just managed to top repeat airings of dramas “Superman & Lois” and “Naomi” on The CW. In December, when ABC last highlighted the show’s ratings performance to the press, it was noted that after 35 days of delayed multiplatform viewing the premiere episode of “Queens” grew nearly five times over its initial Live+Same Day rating in Adults 18-49, a jump of +361% (1.66 rating vs. 0.36 rating). In Total Viewers, the series debut more than tripled its initial Live+Same Day average, up +211% (5.6 million vs. 1.8 million). Sadly, the early numbers couldn’t be duplicated with subsequent episodes and the show concluded what is likely its only season as one of the lowest-rated shows on broadcast television, again only beating programming aired on The CW. Following a hip hop group who reunite decades after their ‘90s peak, “Queens” starred Eve, Naturi Naughton, Nadine Velazquez and Brandy as women in their 40s who work to recapture their fame, fortune and swagger. In the show’s finale episode, entitled “2022,” the Queens prepared to be inducted into the Hip Hop Hall of Fame but they couldn’t help notice the void Brianna’s (Eve) absence from the group had left. Meanwhile, Naomi (Brandy) was waylaid when an old beau questioned JoJo’s (Precious Way; “Days of our Lives”) paternity. Elsewhere, Valeria (Velazquez) got ready to embark on a solo tour and wondered if she really was ready to go at it alone. Catch clips from the series below. Despite the show’s ratings, do you think ABC should still renew it for a second season, possibly moving it to Hulu? ARTICLE: ABC Pulling ‘Promised Land’, Series Will Complete Season on Hulu; ‘The Good Doctor’ Returns Early
After four weeks of less than desirable ratings on Monday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, ABC has opted to pull primetime soap “Promised Land” off of its primetime schedule following the show’s final broadcast airing on Monday, February 21 which will be the show’s fifth episode overall. Thereafter, the show’s remaining episodes will release weekly, exclusively on Hulu starting Tuesday, March 1, reports TVLine. Regular time slot occupant “The Good Doctor” will be returning earlier than planned (originally sometime in the spring), debuting the second half of its fifth season on Monday, February 28. Over four airings, “Promised Land” averaged just 1.719 million viewers, a 0.19 rating in Adults 18-49 and a 0.30 rating in Adults 25-54, the two primary sales demos used to set primetime television advertising rates, according to figures available via ShowBuzzDaily. Factoring in delayed viewers (Live+7) over its first three episodes, the series average bumps up to just 2.9 million viewers and a 0.3 in Adults 18-49. Compared to ABC’s other dramas, “Promised Land” only performed better than “Queens” in Total Viewers while ranking last in the demo. Currently still in production as it has been allowed to complete its initial 10-episode order, “Promised Land” isn’t technically canceled. Should the streaming numbers be good enough to warrant a second season, the majority-owned and Disney-operated platform could continue with the show as an original series for the service. Note: A breakdown of the show’s overall ratings performance had not been released by ABC at press time. Typically, the network waits until full data from its Multiplatform+35 Day assessment is available before determining the success or failure of a series. Clearly, the linear ratings for “Promised Land” warranted a much quicker response. “Promised Land” follows two Latin families vying for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley. The series stars John Ortiz as Joe Sandoval, Cecilia Suárez as Lettie Sandoval, Augusto Aguilera as Mateo, Christina Ochoa as Veronica Sandoval, Mariel Molino as Carmen Sandoval, Tonatiuh as Antonio Sandoval, Andres Velez as Carlos, Katya Martín as Juana and Rolando Chusan as Billy and Bellamy Young as Margaret Honeycroft. The show is written and executive produced by Matt Lopez. Adam Kolbrenner and Maggie Malina also serve as executive producers. Executive producer Michael Cuesta also directs. The series is produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios. Harrowing soap moments
These clips are why I can't root for bad guys on soaps, and would like to see them pay for their crimes. Anyone who roots for Ryan or Jerry Jacks after seeing these videos would be a fool. I don't care if it's fantasy. You wouldn't cheer them on in the real world under any circumstances.

ARTICLE: Sneak Peek of This Week’s Maxi Challenge on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, Featuring Soap Opera ‘The Daytona Wind’ – PREVIEW
The Friday, February 18 episode of VH1’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race” will feature the ladies putting the pedal to the metal when they compete in this week’s Maxi Challenge, starring in the original drag race soap opera, “The Daytona Wind,” which will be directed by the reality show’s host and star RuPaul Charles himself. Courtesy of VH1 In a sneak peek clip from the upcoming episode, RuPaul tells the ladies, “To be part of my Dynasty, you need to put the ‘D’ in ‘Alice,’ the ‘B’ in ‘The Old and the Beautiful,’ and the ‘Y’ in ‘The ‘Hung and the Restless.’ Remember ‘As The Stomach Turns,’ so do the ‘Gays of our Lives.’” The Maxi Challenge is the part of the game in which the contestants are judged for their ability to outperform their competition and helps separate the tops from the bottoms. The winner of the challenge often receives a tip prize of $5,000, among other prizes, and the two who didn’t perform the best are left to lipsynch for their lives as they fight to stay in the competition for another week. The loser is sent home. “This sizzling soap opera centers around three rival drag race dynasties: the Davenports, the O’Haras, and the Michaels,” RuPaul says teasing the acting challenge which references former drag queens whose drag names ended with Davenport, O’Hara, or Michaels. Courtesy of VH1 Winning last week’s Maxi Challenge, drag queen Jorgeous was put in charge of assigning roles to the other queens. Considering the growing feud between Daya Betty and Jorgeous as highlighted in last week’s episode, and is amplified this week as shown in the clip below, we definitely expect someone to get the part they won’t like. Watch the preview clip below and tell us what you think the drama will be like in “The Daytona Wind” below. Featuring 14 queens competing for the grand prize of $100,000 and the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race” airs Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on VH1. The show is currently airing its 14th season. ARTICLE: Daytime Broadcast Ratings for the Week of February 7-11, 2022
Daytime broadcast game shows and talk shows took a beating during the week of February 7-11, 2022, seemingly impacted by NBC’s coverage of the 2022 Winter Olympics from Beijing. No show was hit more than “The View” which, coupled with moderator Whoopi Goldberg’s first and only full week suspension, hit a new season low in Total Viewers, Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 rating. “The Bold and the Beautiful” was the only daytime broadcast series to show improvement week to week in Total Viewers, gaining +23,000 viewers over its performance during the week of January 31-February 4, 2022. In addition, the half-hour soap along with “TODAY 3rd Hour” and “The Talk” were the only other daytime broadcast shows to gain week to week in Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 rating. All other shows were either flat or down. “The Bold and the Beautiful” tied for fifth place with the second half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” in Women 18-49 (both with a 0.36 rating) and tied for fourth place with “TODAY 3rd Hour” in Women 25-54 (both 0.61 rating), nipping at the heels of “The Young and the Restless” in both demos. Compared to the same week last year, only “General Hospital” and “GMA3: What You Need to Know” saw improvement in Women 18-49 rating while every daytime broadcast show saw a decline year to year in Women 25-54 rating. Similarly, “General Hospital” and “GMA3” were the only daytime broadcast shows up compared to their were up over their 2020 numbers among Total Viewers, up +63,000 and up +93,000, respectively. What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of February 7-11, 2022 in Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their comparable performance in 2021 and 2020, respectively. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance in the demos, will be posted soon. Note: Total Viewers for “TODAY 3rd Hour” and “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” were not available at press time which currently skews the rankings in that category. Comparable 2020 figures for “GMA3: What Need to Know” are based on the performance of “GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke.” Figures for “Days of our Lives” are included for comparison purposes only even though the soap began a two-week hiatus and did not air. The soap returns with all-new episodes beginning Monday, February 21. Week Of February 7-11, 2022 Rankers Women 18-49 Rating Rank / Show / NetworkThis WeekLast WeekLast Year2020 W18-491. ARTICLE: ‘The View’ Hits Season Low in Total Viewers and Key Sales Demos During Full Week of Whoopi Goldberg’s Suspension
According to the latest figures released by Nielsen, “The View” experienced a season low in Total Viewers, Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 rating during the week of February 7-11, 2022, the only full week without the show’s moderator Whoopi Goldberg after she was suspended for comments she made on the Monday, January 31 broadcast. “If you’re going to do this, then let’s be truthful about it,” Goldberg said at the time. “Because the Holocaust isn’t about race. No, it’s not about race.” Goldberg and her co-hosts were discussing a Tennessee school district banning Art Spiegelman’s novel “Maus” from being taught in schools. Goldberg later apologized for her comments, stating she “misspoke” and that the Holocaust “is indeed about race, because Hitler and the Nazis considered the Jews to be an inferior race. Now, words matter — and mine are no exception. I regret my comments, and I stand corrected. I also stand with the Jewish people.” She received condemnation from the likes of the Anti-Defamation League, the US Holocaust Museum, the Auschwitz Memorial, among other countless organizations and people around the world. Despite apologizing, Goldberg received a two-week suspension from ABC News, producers of the daytime talk show. “Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments. While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family and communities,” said Kim Godwin, President, ABC News, in announcing Goldberg’s suspension. Set to co-star in the upcoming second season of the Paramount+ original series, “Picard,” reprising her role as Guinan from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Goldberg had been off “The View” starting with the Wednesday, February 2 broadcast through Friday, February 11. She returned on Monday, February 14, telling viewers, “We’re going to keep having tough conversations. And in part, because this is what we’ve been hired to do. And it’s not always pretty, as I said, and it is not always as other people would like to hear. But it is an honor to sit at this table and be able to have these conversations, because they are important. They are important to us as a nation and to us more so as a human entity.” For the week of February 7-11, 2022, “The View” averaged just 2.195 million viewers, placing it ahead of “General Hospital,” “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna,” “GMA3: What You Need to Know” and “The Talk.” The show would have also beaten daytime soap “Days of our Lives” but the soap opera is currently on hiatus due to NBC’s ongoing coverage of the 2022 Winter Olympics from Beijing. Although the show remained in 10th place in Women 18-49, the talker was down week to week, hitting a new season low with a 0.26 rating, which was just barely ahead of “GMA3: What You Need to Know” with its 0.25 rating and “The Talk” with its 0.23 rating. Meanwhile, in Women 25-54, “The View” again ranked 10th (same as one week earlier) with a 0.39 rating. “GMA3” averaged a 0.36 rating in the demo to rank 11th and “The Talk” averaged a 0.34 rating to place 12th. Compared to the full week of January 31-February 4, 2022, “The View” was down -283,000 viewers week to week. In fact, compared to the same week last year, “The View” was down a whopping -723,000 viewers. It should be noted, however, “The View” was experiencing a ratings boom last season stemming from its coverage of the 2020 election, the January 6 Insurrection, the Second Impeachment of President Donald J. Trump and the subsequent trial which resulted in the former president’s acquittal. Using 2020 figures to better compare its performance, “The View” is down the most of any daytime broadcast series with a loss of -364,000 viewers from two years earlier, down -0.14 in Women 18-49 rating (tie with “The Young and the Restless”) and down -0.29 in Women 25-54 rating. In the dailies, “The View” performed similarly to “GMA3: What You Need to Know” and “The Talk” in the demos. Check out the breakdown below. This morning, soap icon Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, “All My Children”) revealed during an interview with “Good Morning America’s” Amy Robach that she recently underwent an emergency heart procedure for the second time that resulted in another stent being put in to open up a blockage in one of her arteries. “I was having kind of a shortness of breath,” Lucci told Robach of feeling discomfort around her ribcage and back, symptoms similar to her experience from three years ago. “I thought, ‘This is crazy. These are the same kind of symptoms that I had three years ago but it can’t be,'” Lucci noted. “But when I lay down, I started to feel a sharp coming-and-going pain in my jaw.” After calling her doctor, who told her to go to the emergency room, Lucci was told after several tests that she experienced an 80% blockage in one of her arteries due to plaque buildup. As a result, Lucci was rushed to a cardiac catheterization lab where she had the new stent put in. “She wasn’t having a heart attack this time and she wasn’t unstable,” said Lucci’s doctor, Dr. Richard Shlofmitz, chairman of cardiology at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York. “But she had symptoms that were certainly concerning to me that something might be wrong.” Had Lucci waited any longer her symptoms could have gotten worse which would have resulted in a major emergency, he said. As part of her ongoing collaboration with the American Heart Association and its Go Red for Women initiative, Lucci is urging other women to take better care of their bodies, saying, “Listen to your heart and act on [the symptoms]. Give yourself permission to take good care of yourself. Be your own best friend. Be your own advocate. You’ll save your life.” Note: The post Susan Lucci Reveals New Health Scare on ‘Good Morning America’ That Forced Her Into the Emergency Room appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. ARTICLE: Sean Kanan Teases What’s To Come When Ridge Learns the Truth About Brooke and Deacon on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’
Long before joining the cast of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” actor Sean Kanan portrayed Mike Barnes in the 1989 film “The Karate Kid Part III,” which is where he learned about the art of Cobra Kai. With several cast members from the movie and its previous iterations already returning for the Netflix series aptly titled “Cobra Kai,” which now has four seasons under its belt and is expected to release its already filmed fifth season later this year, fans have been wondering if they’ll ever Kanan back in that world. While it’s yet to be confirmed whether the actor will be appearing in the aforementioned fifth season or any future seasons of the show should it get renewed by the streaming giant, one thing is certain: “The Bold and the Beautiful” has all the action you’ll need. In today’s episode of the daytime drama series, Kanan’s Deacon Sharpe goes fist to fist against rival Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) who is out for revenge after learning that his wife, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), shared a kiss with her former lover on New Year’s Eve and that the two slept together – albeit in the literal sense and not the sexual kind (he does not know that though). Teasing what’s to come in today’s episode, Kanan recently said on Instagram, “ATTENTION COBRAS! You know me as Karate’s Bad Boy Mike Barnes but check me out as ‘Deacon Sharpe’ this Monday 12pm pacific 1:30 Eastern time on ‘The Bold and the Beautifu’l on CBS when the punches and kicks will be flying!” Earlier this morning he added, “The talking is over. Don’t miss the big fight between Deacon and Ridge today.” Check out some pics below from today’s episode and watch the show’s weekly promo to get yourself pumped for what’s about to go down. ARTICLE: Greg Rikaart Back to ‘Days of our Lives’
As shown in the latest promo featuring the returns of Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker), actor Greg Rikaart is also set to reprise his role as Leo Stark on “Days of our Lives” when the soap returns from its Winter Olympics hiatus in the weeks ahead. While we can’t say at this time who or what Leo is involved in, nor why Will and Sonny are invested in taking him down, we can say that viewers will be in for a fun journey as his storyline does tie into what’s occurring currently on the show, albeit what’s aired prior to the on-air hiatus. In the meantime, as shown in the promo, Will and Sonny ask their good friend Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) for his help. “We have to understand this guy’s weaknesses if we’re going to exploit them,” Sonny says to Chad of Leo. ARTICLE: Chandler Massey and Zach Tinker to Reprise ‘Beyond Salem’ Characters on ‘Days of our Lives’
“Days of our Lives” will soon welcome Will Horton and Sonny Kiriakis back to the canvas when the show returns from its Winter Olympics hiatus beginning Monday, February 21, it was revealed on Friday via a promo featuring actor Billy Flynn as he teases what’s to come with his character, Chad DiMera, in the near future. In the promo posted across the show’s social channels, Flynn is shown in character standing on the set of the DiMera mansion as he speaks to the camera (“Days of our Lives” viewers), saying, “Okay, good news, bad news time. The good news… two of my closest friends are coming home to Salem.” A clip is then shown of Chad hugging Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Zach Tinker) who are back in town after spending the better part of more than a year living in Arizona. Shortly afterward, Flynn as Chad then reveals the not-so-great part. “The bad news? Leo Stark!” Yes, the bad boy played by Greg Rikaart who has been meddling in Will and Sonny’s lives for an extended period of time is also back in town and he’s got some ulterior motives, which is why Will and Sonny need Chad’s help. “We have to understand this guy’s weaknesses if we’re going to exploit them,” Sonny tells Chad about how they’re going to take down their nemesis. Later, a shocked Chad is shown telling the two, “I thought we were friends!” So, what’s Leo up to now, and why do Will and Sonny seem to care so much? And what did they tell Chad that made him so upset? Just like you, we can’t wait to find out! Check out the promo below. Will and Sonny’s return to Salem will mark the first time since September 2020 that either character will have returned for more than a single episode, in person, virtually or otherwise, on the mothership series outside of the 2021 release of “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem,” the limited series spinoff now streaming on Peacock, and its follow-up movie, “Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas.” Three-time Daytime Emmy Award winner Chandler Massey reprises the role of Will Horton on “Days of our Lives” for the first time since appearing in scenes aired during Christmas 2020 while Zach Tinker will make his “Days of our Lives” debut as Sonny Kiriakis. The role was previously portrayed by Daytime Emmy Award winner Freddie Smith, who last appeared as the character in a virtual setting in scenes aired in December 2020. With Smith and his wife deciding to move to Florida, Smith declined to return for “Beyond Salem” when contacted by producers, forcing them to recast. Since then, Tinker’s take on the character has been well received by the show’s fans, particular fans of WilSon (combo name for Will and Sonny). “Hi did you miss us?” wrote Tinker on Twitter following the revelation he was joining “DAYS” after his previous stints on “Beyond Salem” and “A Very Salem Christmas.” Note: The post Chandler Massey and Zach Tinker to Reprise ‘Beyond Salem’ Characters on ‘Days of our Lives’ appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website.
