Fair to good day.

Shawn and Belle, good.

Philip and Mimi, good.

Marlena, John and Roman, fair to good. I still don't get Marlena cutting John off.

I LOVE the Marlena stuff. Her cutting John off is because she needs to explore and find herself again. She is going to do that by helping other woman and I love that. This is classic Marlena-trying to stand on her own and not be dependent. I love it and loved John at the end today leaving the penthouse. Liked the Roman/Marlena scenes even though I cringe everytime I see Taylor and Hall in scenes since the castle.

Love seeing Abby again and her interaction with Max. Loved Max and Frankie sharing scenes for the first time in awhile.

J&J were pure magic-I just loved them and their scenes with Abby and Frankie. I am loving this triangle and I loved Missy's hair today.

Philip and Mimi talking was good. Farah has been a bit better this week but I still want her gone. I just like they are using their brains about the whole in vitro issue and how to handle the babies when they are born.

Belle and Shawn were great. I love the history mentions (Paris, Jan, etc) and the whole ring thing. Martha rocked and Cook actually held his own. I was happy Mimi overheared because that had to make her feel guilty as hell hearing about her friendship with Belle.

Great that the Carrie/Austin/Sami/Lucas/EJ stuff got a break. I am hoping for better balance now with Beth writing and Hogan on the way. It was nice to get a break from them.

Loved the character interactions today much like I have all week. The dialogue was good again too as it has been all week. Good week for Days-there is definitely a difference in the show and they are just put together so much better. There is just such a good feel to it-now they need to dump the SFX  .

John & Marlena were hot - man that kiss was delish! And I loved the scene on the couch... yummy! The way he couldn't stop touching her and the finger tracing on her shoulder and arm. Very sexy and very sweet, very J&M. Deidre and Drake have brought back what I fell in love with about John & Marlena, the intimacy (not necessarily during love scenes), the fun, the magic and the intensity. I'm glad that even though John is sad, he knows that she has to do this and he knows that it's for THEM, not just for her.

Shawn and Belle. Beautiful scenes, esp with a dark clothed Meemster eavesdropping on the conversation too.

Loved the J/M scenes. I'm so excited for this storyline to play out under Hogan Sheffer. He was great at writing strong, independent women on ATWT and I'm seeing the setup for both Marlena and Belle to be that kind of woman. BRAVO!

Being a Shelle fan, I absolutely cherished every second of their scenes today. I thought both Martha and Jason did a great job. Martha can break my heart with those tears! SUPERB! Loved the contrast to sweet, loving, strong Belle and lurking lying Mimi. Great writing in that scene.

Max and Abby...... why oh why can't TPTB put these two together. They are so cute and I see so much chemistry between them and the best part...... she's NOT his niece!

I was kind of shocked by the Marlena feminist stuff. What's going on here?

It's kind of out of left field.

I love Marlena, but she is acting like she is out in left field - wtheck...

I don't remember Marlena being that spacey.

I was truly too upset to remember about the garage scene today. Abby does not belong in a garage and when she mentioned her major is Business, I nearly flipped. She needs to be asking Marklena for a job and working in the hospital and having a Pre-Med major. That really irked me to no end and so now, I'll have to do a mental adjustment and it isn't going to be easy. To me this is terribly wrong.

Marlena was stunning as usual today. I love how she is always so stylish and lovely. Her hair, her dress, the color of her dress and how perfect for entering her green office. I still do not get why she has to discover herself without John. That does not make any sense. He is a part of her life, not something outside of it, same as she has obligations to her children and grandchildren. Are they going to be put on the backburner, too, so she can "discover herself". I don't like this either. Women are themselves because of how they live their lives, not what they think they are missing.....ugh. I don't like this either.

Although I love Jack and Frankie, I'm not watching this sl. They are going so why bother.

Marlena's reasons did not make sense. I agree. Good post. I didn't like that part either.

I wish there would have been better reasons for her breaking up with him such as needing time

to be alone, to sort things out. She acted so ungrateful for everything John has done for her.

John is part of her life, and because he loves her, he will be there if she needs him. The reasons were so stupid.

There's a simple reason why she needs to discover herself without John. She always seemes to need someone to save her. First with Orpheus, then with The Devil, the with Stefano, then with the SSK, and of course, Alex. That's not Marlena. She's a strong woman, or at least she used to be. I can totally understand her longing for that and I tihnk it's great for her to see that maybe some space will help her to find her center.

No comments otherwise, haven't seen the show yet.

I love what they're doing with Marlena. I think they're making it clear that she still loves John and has no plans to leave him permanently, but I LOVE that they are having her face the fact that she has not been herself for a very long time and that she needs to take some time and work on herself.

On another board today, someone started a thread, in all seriousness, titled "I didn't know that Marlena was a doctor" -- that kind of says it all to me right there.

I'm thrilled that the writers are interested in returning her to the strong, intelligent, caring woman she used to be as opposed to the perpetual victim she's been the last 10 or 15 years.

I agree. Marlena has always had a man by her side. Don, Richard, Roman, John, Roman again, then John again, then Alex, now back to John. Even Stefano was obsessed with her. Seeing her try to sort things out by herself without a man saving her is good and it's different. This change was needed. It is good that Marlena still loves John and wants to be with him, but she's right about always being the victim and always being rescued. If there is one small thing that I don't like, it's that there is a chance for Sami to try to reunite her parents again without respect to John and Belle's feelings. I hope the new writers will not be so predictable and have Sami finally accept her parents will never be together, only as friends.

The Shelle stuff was good. This is what young love on soaps is about. At first, I didn't want Drag Queen to overhear, but I'm glad she did. Now she's the one who looks like the total !@#$%^&*]. I hope she gets that crow ready.

Max and Abby were cute. They have the potential to be a great young couple if the writers weren't so insistent on doing a triangle between him and his adoptive nieces.

J&J were great, but my heart broke for Frankie. He's such a good guy. It's a shame Billy is leaving. I love him and they could have kept him and paired him with Billie and he could have been the new lawyer. Corday, what the hell were you thinking???

Is it a definite that Billy is leaving? I, too, would love for him to stick around.

Yeah, I think so. Without Missy and Matt, the show feels there isn't any story for him. Sad, because Billy can act.

Sad, you would think that KC would want to keep someone of his caliber around but it is KC that we are talking about so it doesn't surprise me. Get rid of Matt and Billy, but keep the quad actors...yeah that makes sense ;-(
