It's funny how things like this appear so meaningless when they actually mean so much.

Right--as to our discussion about these issues in soaps in general and giving them a sense of reality. It would have been ridiculously easy to do.

  • I personally don't think that disliking White Savior Joey is an indication the character is working. If it's a choice between King Joey and Duprees Strong, I choose neither.

Random silly crossover nonspoiler stuff.

C'mon Mike Manning--you wouldn't kiss one of the male characters?

This crossover seems pointless. Really all that was needed was Victor, Devon and I guess Abby as his date.. The rest seemed like random info dump about Y&R history that is irrelevant over here

The show is better than it was months ago for sure. There are A, B, and C stories. I'm kinda here for Katie sticking it to Brooke.

So, they're going to base their whole first fashion line on Deke who's never designed a collection before???? What would have made more sense would be for Deke to be hired as a designer in training and ZENDE leaving Forrester for Logan because he knows he'll always be treated as second-class around RJ.

Naw I think that argument would only hold water if this was a show filled with nothing but criminals and downtrodden black folks and no nuance. The stereotyping accusations mainly come when that is the only representation black characters are given.

What they’re currently doing by having Joey exert power and control over the Dupree’s and he, Vanessa and Ashley hogging all this airtime leaves a far worse impression for me. You invited an audience and said “this is for you” then pulled the rug out from under us.

Can't argue with this.

I don't think Ashley is hogging airtime, but I find her character so annoying that I notice her more. She's irritating, and the writing does her no favors.

Joey? Heather? Yeah, they bother me. We're going to see them try to take over with their "other operations."

And now we have gun moll Vanessa who wants in on all of the "other operations." Are you kidding me with this?

At the fundraiser, Joey and Vanessa should have been thrown out. They should have been treated like the persona non grata trash they are.

It's bad enough that we get these white people running everything and now we have to put up with the Duprees being shlt on in public.

The writers could at least stop having the Black characters pander to them. I hate it.

I dislike that oversell eg Oh Diane, you were an inspiration -such a fabulous model.

Andre-Jabot has tried to work you with you for years.

Why does everything have to be world famous and super successful? So characters can praise each other?

In what universe would a guy like Andre be in anyway jealous of Devon??

How old is Kyle supposed to be? Martin is early 30s. Does Kyle's age match up for them to actually be college friends?

The dialogue was kind of gringy, but I enjoyed watching this episode. I only fastforwarded Ashley's scenes, I really don't understand why the viewers should care about her drama. She is just a random friend of Naomi and she has her own storylines for no reason. I also don't care for Joey and Vanessa AT ALL.

Kyle had a lot of chemistry with Hayley and I found her more interesting than usual in their scene. Flirty Kyle was cute.

The production values were amazing.

The episode felt like a real soap opera.

I will never stop beating the drum of what a horrible, off-putting, and irrelevant character Ashley is, and what a boring actress Jen Jacob is (she can’t rise above the horrible writing for her character). I feel as if the writers have a vision for this character that doesn’t and has never translated to the screen since the first episode. They want us to sympathize with her, but it’s almost impossible to do that. Would love this character written off.

Kyle has a son Harrison who is elementary-school aged, approximately 8 years old, give or take a few years. The child's backstory: The child was conceived when Kyle was somewhere around his early twenties -- Kyle was living in New York, but partying in the Hamptons in the summers -- at one of those parties, Kyle slept with an older married woman. Her husband was originally thought to be the father, but wasn't. Her husband died, she's in jail, and Kyle has custody.

So yeah that would make Kyle about the same age as Martin.

Kyle Abbott and Abby Newman-Winters are approximately the same age as each other. Their mothers Diane Jenkins and Ashley Abbott separately tried to steal Victor Newman's sperm from a sperm bank around the same week. Diane accidentally took Jack Abbott's sperm instead. The thefts were close in time, but I'm not sure about the timeframe of the inseminations.

It’s that time of the month for Dani to cheat on Andre again.

Ashley is among the least of the show's problems these days for me. They have severely curtailed her role in the new year and I find her much more palatable in a B or C role. I also do think she has chemistry with Jordi. But if she left tomorrow I also wouldn't care.
