No, he was pining for that walking sleeping pill Ashley, and then later texted Dani for a hookup when he felt lonely. He and Dani got into it a bit as she’s not ready to be seen openly with him still, and they both realized they were hung up on other people - Andre on Ashley (thought he never said her name) and especially Dani on Bill.

Of course neither learnt anything and then proceeded to have sex again.

I got the impression Andre was opening up to Dani about his feelings, that's why I thought he was about to admit he was in love with her. Dani has no idea that what's good for her is right in front of her face.

Tomorrow we might get a love scene set to an R&B slow jam.

-- Tamara Tunie was good today, but can we hold back on handing out Emmys? I'm not seeing that yet.

-- So Anita has Barbara's entire letter committed to memory, yet it took her DECADES to reach out to Tracy and Sharon? Uh....ok. I don't get the impression that THE DUPREES spent a lot of time thinking about the little people.

-- We again heard "Articulettes Strong," this time in the letter. Make it stop already.

-- I'll wait and see on this "Anita's Sin" story. My bottom line is that it's unfair to point blame when someone takes his/her own life.

-- I thought Tomas looked fine af in that suit today, and that the fit was perfect.

-- Why is Basic Ashley kissing her boyfriend while at work in the hospital? I find that inappropriate and ridiculous. Ashley still doesn't act like someone in love.

-- The 3-way conversation among Ashley, Derek, and Andre was awkward as hell.

-- Hayley was embarrassing for taking her pregnancy test to Dani's. Dani is embarrassing to harp on it. These two need to stay away from each other.

-- Dani treats Andre like crap. What he sees in her beyond the physical, I have no idea. No way is either of these two in love.

-- Also clueless? Bill and Hayley for thinking Naomi would love hearing about the pregnancy.

Today was amazing, for so many reasons. Others have complained certain stories are dragging and others have rightly pointed out, the show only premiered THREE MONTHS AGO! Yes, the caps are dramatic, but I think they seize the moment appropriately. I have watched more than a few soap opera debuts. BTG, is by far, the best, first three months of a show, I have ever seen.

MVJ, rightly, found the best in the business to avoid as many pitfalls as they could, to get the show settled quickly. They have found their footing. Is it perfect, no, but is it as close to excellence I've seen this quickly, yes.

I loved today's scenes, particularly with Anita. That voice reading the letter, sounded like June

Fantastic final scene! What a twist. It's very old school Bill Bell in a way, it's a totally internal emotional psychodrama. It was clever to have Anita recite the end by heart. It's a bit convenient in the sense that Anita really didn't do anything wrong. It's not her fault if Barbara didn't have the right talent that Dante was looking for. She's not obligated to quit the group if Barbara was excluded. She wasn't wrong, it's a tough business, it is what it is. And yet the hurt came across and felt so real when Barbara said she was supposed to watch from the sidelines like she was never a part of it. But Anita was so cold, and she didn't have to do that and I buy that her guilt is eating her alive. It's actually incredibly cruel and manipulative to write a suicide letter like that. There's just a lot of layers.

I hope we learn more about Dante. Look at what's going on with Diddy and the ugly side of the business. They could go to some dark places. He could have had an Ike Turner type of relationship with one of the band mates, or groomed a girl to try to replace Anita.

Good episode.

Tomas is improving and I didn't even mind Ashley/Derek.

I liked the mixing up of characters and different beats and angles being played.

Steven Williford did a good job directing-liked the new angles in Dani's kitchen.

Yes it was silly for Hayley to visit Dani-but she is a bit child like and probably bored sitting in her ugly ass living room, so I bought it.

Another good one. But seeing Sara Bibel, I wasn't worried.

Yeeeah I continue to be unsure about Dani/Bill/Hayley coming back into the A story mix. Not that I don't see the potential. But...I just continue to feel too soon.

That said...I definitely loved Dani vs Hayley. And I was happy to see Hayley hold her own. They came to a nice draw. And I loved how Dani would be putting up a good front, but would turn away from Hayley and the camera would see how hurt she would be.

In fact, I thought the sums of the parts was so much better than the whole with Dani/Bill/Hayley. Hayley mixing it up with Naomi. Bill scheming one moment with Tomas to him having an episode the next. I've been loving the growing friction between Dani and Andre over her linger feelings for Bill and his attachement to Ashley.

Speaking of...awwww Dani/Andre. It's been building. The feelings. The little cracks. The talks. The body language. So it's nice they started to have it out. It's been so organically done. Even if it also made me sad.

First Naomi. Then Hayley. Now they both see Bill having a moment. Worse, it looked worse than a hand tremor. So that story is growing, too.

I was not expecting another round of Kat vs Silk Press Sheila so soon. That was hilarious that SilkPress is stalking her around for someone wanting to put a restraining order on her. lol. Nor did I expect her to mix it up with Ashley and Derek...who looked in those blue jean. Mmm.

But yeah...the highlight was the new turn in the Anita story. Like some others, I wish I could say I was not spoiled, but sadly that was not the case since I stumbled onto what it would be when I was looking for Kat vs SilkPress clips. Just ugh. I still love the scenes all the same and how they fleshed out more of Anita's backstory.  It gave just enough to continue wetting the apptite for more, but did not give us everything. I still feel and hope that the reveal will be at the police fundraiser which also will hopefully tie back into the crooked cop storyline, too.

A strong A story with several B AND C plots going on with movement = a good episode.

So, Barbara is Florence Ballard, Sharon is Mary Wilson, Anita is Diana Ross and I guess Tracy is Cindy Birdsong? Though I guess Supremes technically was a quartet at first, before Barbara Martin left. I wonder if this will lead to Anita having a hand in releasing some of Barbara's recordings like how Florence Ballard's career got re-assessed in the early 2000s.

Though... could Barbara have any vengeful children hanging around?

    • I was relieved to get a respite from the heavy John/Bo material today. Like previously mentioned, it really let us come up for air and breathe a bit, and good beats regarding John were still in play to keep that thoroughline going.  Peter Reckell was fantastic on yesterday's episode. I was worried Bo would be told about Victor and Doug off-screen, so though my heart was fully breaking for him, I'm really happy we got to see him react to their passings. How strange that both his fathers died in a plane crash, I'm surprised they didn't have a line about it, but maybe it would have been to clunky to include. Cat/Tate were a fresh interaction. Why would she "feel" like she knows Sami. It reminded me of when Carrie "felt" like she knew EJ when he first came to town as EJ Wells, where he should have turned out to be a long lost Tony/Anna kid, but then all the mess we got happened instead. With that and her mysterious call, colour me intrigued. I am going to confess something I am almost ashamed to admit ... I like the Jack/Leo scene! However, in my defense, it got very genuine between them and those historical references used about Diana, Duke, and Leo's past with John were all very strong beats to play for me, and most importantly it Leo's responses were kept to a minimum. But by God, those pants he was wearing made him look deranged. Also, shout out to Melissa Reeves, who came back effortlessly yet again. I can't wait to see her confront Chad about letting Cat into his life. And SSH shouting "SKYDIVING" was hilarious.

I also feel like we’ve honored her lately with the synopses that keep coming in! Just wish we had more clips! Maybe someday!
    • Of course Donna somehow missed Laura Wright’s moles for 20 years.
    • Today's Lucky and Liz scenes were horrible. There really is no way to explain Lucky's character. Not that anyone cared though. It looked like everyone involved just gave up, and that JJ couldn't get out of there fast enough.  Also, why is Sonny on every single day? Most of his appearances are so pointless. Can they not rest the character, even for a few days?
    • I agree.  She has become ridiculous, and simply not a believable character.  She needs to tone it down, or get to jail as quickly as possible.   I completely agree.  A bit of an Upstairs, Downstairs vibe is really all BTG is missing.
    • Aimless. That's a good way to put it. As far as killing Drew, I really want Porsha to do it, but they somehow get her off.
    • They can't afford to use the hospital set -- that's what I'm guessing.  Poor Cole will probably die on Victoria's couch, and never be in the hospital.  Jeeze-Louise!!
